Great analysis. I finally got to show my parents this movie. I am so thankful early on while viewing they realized this movie was gonna be stressful and very unconventional in the way it is being told. My mom almost had a heart attack by the end but they ended up loving it.

People only rooted for him because he was played by Adam, since Adam has the audiences praises.
It’s a smart move by the Safdies, that’s why they only wanted Adam to get in on it.
All in all, Howard is an asshole, but you never wanna see Adam lose. So you keep rooting.
    Just a side point,

Hey man, this was really good. I'm definitely subbing, dig your ability to analyze and make sense of the decisions of the filmmakers, was badass. Keep it up man, you're smart, you'll go far.

People don't like feeling bad. When a movie makes them feel bad, they take it as them not liking the movie. They don't admire the movie for making them feel that way, they just don't like feeling that way and attribute that distaste to the movie itself. At least, that's my guess. It's also a very unconventional movie, and some normies I've talked to were confused by it's plot structure and the character's decisions.

Tomás J. Calderón It has a low audience score, but the critic score is high. This is because the critics recognized the great acting, story structure, pacing, score, soundtrack, cinematography, and symbolism. Audiences want to feel good and be entertained, they don’t want to feel stressed out and feel depressed, which the movie is very tragic and anxiety-inducing. General moviegoers want to feel happy while watching movies, they don’t like films that make them uncomfortable or put them on edge. Not every movie needs to have a happy ending, that’s why some of my favorite films of all time have sad endings. Audiences associate their feeling with the movie with how much they liked it, that’s why bleak films get low audience scores most of the time.

Great video, didn't think of the biblical paralels!
Few complaints/nitpicks though, in the Old Testament, the king of Egypt is not called Ramses, nor is he presented as Moses' brother. He's just referred to as the pharaoh. "Prince of Egypt" changed this because it makes more sense for the type of narrative the movie was creating.

I guess that's true. A small detail I overlooked. Suppose I should have brushed up on my Old Testament before writing the script.

@@RandalltheVandal It makes sense, I remember learning about Moses in school and being confused that his relation to the pharaoh wasn't explored. The movie plays out in the way things probably happened. (or didn't, since it's mythology)
