Actually, if you remove the left earphone/headphone and only listen to the right (the SMD version), it actually sounds really good. It's just a few notes lower than the NES version, which is why it sounds detuned when you wear both headphones.
Os fãs me surprendem bastante, fizeram um port perfeito de SMB do NES para o Mega Drive, isso sem falar no Sonic para o SNES, são coisas assim que me deixam surpreso com o empenho e carinho que a galera tem pelos consoles antigos.

If it weren’t for that horrendous rendition of the main theme, and the jump sound effect, it would be a kick ass port. That constant background humming and the horn at the crescendo is so distracting.
It's using low-pitch-based FM waves instead of high-pitch-based ones. Judging by the rumble, I would say it's only FM1 or FM2 (one or two frequencies).
That don't know how to use the sound chip properly. It'sthe reason AAA devs have bad music. The Genesis sound chip has vast potential if you know what your doing with it.
They're using FM1 and FM2 waves instead for one. The other is because they lowered the octaves because it sounds better like that to the person or people that ported the game for the SMD.
The Genesis version isn't 'based' on the NES version. It literally IS the NES version; the guy simply took the dissassembly of the NES version and trans-coded it into 68k.

Keep Mario Bros on Nes. As much as I like Sega, the sound is horrendous, and I hate the "warm" color rendering. It feels hard to the eyes. I prefer the softer, "cool" feel of the original.

Would made more sense and be more impressive if it was on the master system, as that was the actual competitive system to nes. Something tells me the master system could handle it.
Why does the blue sky look so washed out on the Genesis version? I know the Genesis is lacking in color, but couldn't they find one that looked better than that?
The guy who did the port probably did it as a conscious design choice, which might sound insane but that can be the only explanation (especially considering that the blue is one of the colors that the Genesis does really well).
@@camulodunon You're probably right, but man, what a bad design choice. I know I've seen some shades of blue on Genesis closer to the original than that.:)
