This is literally the best Camera comparison video I've ever seen, and I have been watching a lot lately! Thank you for this... it's really helping me make a decision. It seems like Sony has the most realistic colors and very good focusing capabilities, but gets laggy when going from bright to dark settings. The Canon is so good in dim settings, but its colors seem over saturated at times and doesn't do well with focusing changes. Panasonic has great focusing and dim lighting abilities, but the colors seem unnatural at times and the stabilization doesn't seem to be its strong point. Lots to consider.
Great comment, really the 3 cameras have strengths and weaknesses, it is difficult to choose, it is depend on the purpose you have each. My question is: which one is better for photography?
Wow what an amazing review I absolutely love it. U cover the vid footage on all cameras and test out all aspects of the video feature. great job best review I’ve ever seen
Thank you, that really means a lot. Ive been disconnected from youtube for a while, was deployed for almost a year but I will start posting new videos very soon.
Love the way you set up this comparison. How great to see all 3 performing live. Really appreciate this video, as I'm thinking about picking up one of these 3 for an upcoming trip.
isaac macdonald the sound isn't the issue put that fluffy thing that doesn't pick any noisy and windy sound, you'll be good to go.. I prefer it and it doesn't costs so much as the Sony... -__- I've seen other YT Vloggers that I always watch and check out they have n use the Canon G7X Mark II and the sound is perfectly fine plus the QUALITY looks damn good, i'll be getting it soon it'll be amazing!
name not important it’s because many of the RUclipsrs doesn’t record on the camera but on a mic that’s connected to the pc so they can edit the voice recording in the film
Thank you so much for these great review : honest, precise and very complete . I was is hesitating just like you to buy my new camera but thanks to your video I made my choice canon G7X Mark II Thanks again for your prescience help I wish you the best for the success of your channel
I wanted to mention that all 3 cameras are great, they are the top 3 cameras on the market right now, meaning if price wasn't an issue and you want the absolute best, these cameras will perform better than the rest on the market.
One thing not mentioned is that the Panasonic shoots 4K in 15 minute segments without overheating whereas the Sony can only shot 4K for a maximum of 5 minutes before overheating and the Canon doe NOT shoot 4K.
Mark Daniel what would you need 4k for? I want a cam purely for I travel, hikes, street photography and family vlogging. I usually share on IG. Do you think 4k is needed?
Awesome review!. I would go with the Canon G7X ii which is made in Japan, has far superior quality, and much better Customer Support. The RX100 and the LX10 are made in China and the quality is very poor. Sony and Panasonic calibrate their cameras pretty much the same, as far as full Auto mode goes. Canon likes to calibrate theirs more on the cool side, for some reason. So, if you like how the video looks on the Sony and the Panasonic, you can set the WB (White balance) to the following. Set the mode to "P" (Programmed Automatic) and set the WB to A=3 and G=3. The WB is very important on how your video looks, setting it to warm, is a lot more appealing to the eye.
I own the Sony and Canon and both are great. The Sony's focus and picture is far more superior. The canon however has the better Image Stabilization which makes it pretty awesome too but strugles with focusing at times. The Canon G5X is another great camera too.
canon's image stabilization looked better because it was attached at the center of the ruler and the other two cameras were at the ends so there was more movement there. but panasonic's stabilization was the worst. i think sony's stabilization is even better than the canon's.
Thats one of the things I took in consideration while doing this video. I moved the cameras and the results were still the same. I know the ruler looks flimsy but its actually solid hard. That ruler is from the early 90's lol
wow that is kind of antique :) but even if the ruler was totally inflexible, there would be more movement at the corners simply because they are away from the center. well i didn't see the part where you moved the cameras, i must have missed it :)
i think i will get rx100ii as it fits my needs , i am not a fan of annoying touchscreen, flipscreen or viewfinder or wifi, i just need good video recording. sony's color might be on the cold side, but it can be fixed in post with the click of a button, that can not be a factor for not buying this camera, only deal breaker for canon is auto focus is very bad
Thanks a lot for your time of making this video, it helps a lot in choosing which camera to choose. I decided to get the Canon G7X Mark II the best choice for me over the other two cameras.
Nikola Savic thank you so much! For stills, the Sony blows the other two out of the water. Check out my other video and you will see some stills comparisons in low light.
What a fast answer, you are amazing :) I am considering ditching my old Canon DSLR (40D) for this little camera. The biggest fear with Sony I have is that I noticed that it overexposing the highlights, like there is something wrong with dynamic range. Also, is it possible to make a photos more vibrant when shooting in Sony camera settings? I like the skin tones on Sony the best though. Are photos really comparable with dslrs?
Overexposure will occur depending on the settings you are using, I don't believe the camera suffers on that aspect. You can always fix this with the proper settings. You can shoot raw and adjust the color on post, there are also some camera presets that adjust the colors when shooting. The picture quality is very good, almost dslr level, but you have to remember that a dslr is only as good as the lens you are shooting with, meaning you can have a Canon T3 Rebel with a $2000 lens and the picture quality will be amazing and you can also have a Canon 5D Mark IV with a $150 lens and have crappy pictures. The Sony is a compact point and shoot wit superb quality.
Yes, I am aware of that, firstly I wanted Sony a6300 or a5100 but realised I would spend much more to get decent lens (rx100 has that included), and the camera would not be compact at all, and that's the reason I don't bring my dslr with me at the first place. Thank you for the answers, you helped a lot!
Im glad you liked it. I haven't uploaded videos in a while because of my work, but I keep a close eye on the activity in my channel. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask
@@ONSADE Can you suggest which is better camera to choose between canon m6 and canon g7x mark ii. I have watched reviews but still have a struggle planning to do vlogs soon im a newbie in youtube.
Very good real life comparison. I'm about to buy one of these! Have you noticed the autofocus noise on the Canon? Incredible, wouldn't know about it if in another video a tester haven't explained it.
Thanks, im glad it helped. The Canon makes a slight noise when trying to auto focus, the only way you would notice it is if recording you're in total silence. You can adjust this feature in the menu, you can turn it on or off and you can also turn off the continuous autofocus to prevent this. Nothing out of the ordinary really, its a great camera.
seems like something is wrong with the stabilization on the Panasonic, shouldn't shake that much. looking forward to a more in depth review please. the video functionality is important
All of these cameras wouldn't survive a drop from waist height. The cameras feel solid but keep in mind these are very delicate electronics and lenses in them.
Oh I forgot to say, you must also do stills at F5.6 as that's the lenses sharpest Aperture and try to shoot items which are orange, red, green, black and white.
Malia if you are in a quiet place where sound from the camera is likely to be picked up, I would turn off the continuous AF. For walking around while vlogging you can turn it on and you wont notice the sound.
Nice video. Interesting comparison. It's always subjective. Different lighting conditions exposed relevant strengths for a specific camera. End of the day you really can't go wrong with any of these cameras. I think the Canon is great value for money overall. The RX100 V has 'ridiculous' phase detection focusing which is very avant garde.
Canon’s got the best light adjustment and stability, Sony’s got the best audio and focuses much faster, and stays focused, the Panasonic is just trash.
I did almost the same thing he did in that I use the Canon daily for work, but I bought the Panasonic and the Sony to use personally. After a year, I can tell you that I reach for the Panasonic 90% of the time. All three cameras are technological marvels and produce excellent results, but I prefer the feel of the Panny and it does not suffer overheating like the Sony, which was a major problem. Lastly, contrary to what I saw in this video, the Panasonic has slightly better low light performance than the other two. I don't know if he had a defective unit or a setting was off, but the Panny wins in low light. Also, the LX10 has by far the best display and menu system. When you factor in that the Panny cost ~$500 less than the Sony, it changes things quite a bit.
Prity good comparison regarding video quality I was wondering if you could provide comparison regarding still image quality. Do you have any idea in this regard?

Thank you! I made another video with the 3 cameras shooting at night, check that one out
You did a great job with your review. I guess the dream would be for a "next" generation Canon with 4K and good slow motion.
That would definitely be the perfect camera. And thank you, I appreciate it
I'd say a canon with 4k and a hot shoe for an add on EVF would be my ideal camera
I would prefer that Canon fix the slow focus problem before
This is a lot of work making this video for the audience. Totally underrated. I wish the channel grows. Thanks a lot for the effort! :)
Thank you so much. Since the time of this video I have learned a lot and will be posting better quality and more precise reviews for you guys.
Don't forget the ruler is flexible so the edge cameras have less stabilization.
It's that rapid reliable focus on the RX100 that wins it for me. The Canon is slow to focus and the LX10 not much better.
think this guy prefer the Canon, of course to which every individual have their respective opinion. Hats off for this review!!
Thanks!

I fell that Canon G7X M2 performance is better
The sound is horrible tho
M Ilyas how exactly?!? The AF alone of the Sony is much faster and accurate and not to mention that in 4k the IQ of the Sony can rival a mft sensor
The Sony does preform better, but the Sony is like $900 while the Canon is only about $500. Id go with the Canon.

Great point, Andrew, and this is a key differentiator for those who need to shoot in 4K.
4K is a con for me, it adds money to the camera for a feature I don't use (i'm a RUclips guy.)

Sony and Canon are both great. I didn't like the Panasonic, it feel short in a few key areas that were important for me.
