That's not even a fair comparation... the rx100 V costs double the G7X MarkII... Is it double good? I doubt...

That's funny. After I saw your comparison I thought the Canon, based on YOUR footage, was better in terms of sound, color, and image stabilization. On the other hand, the Canon was slower on changing focus when switching from face to landscape/far away objects when you turned the cameras around (which could be a deal breaker for many folks and have them think the Sony is the best camera). Thank you for showing those images and comparing these very popular cameras. Note: I think hiding the name of the cameras is not for being cool. In my opinion it serves two purposes: 1. not drawing the attention to the camera (making it less desirable for potential thieves); and 2. if you are an influencer and you are not sponsored by Canon or Sony, why would you advertise the camera for free, right? And about Casey Neistat, he is cool not because he hides the camera names, my opinion. And Casey also says what matters is not what the camera it is, but what it does as a tool for the job. Well, that's my opinion on these matters, I'm not talking for everyone, definitely I'm not talking for Casey, and my thoughts may be the exception to the rule on these matters. Again, thank you for your great and informative video.
Do you have the IS active on the sony? It's very shaky

Uh the Sony Audio seems really bad in direct comparsion.
I was about to buy the RX 100 V until I saw how bad the audio is. I dont want to adjust the audio in post in every clip. The AF is amazing on the sony, but the image stabilization on the Canon G7x is much better.

I actually liked the G7x Mk II quite a bit more shockingly. The audio was only off on the Sony because of wind reduction mode, but even quality wise I preferred the footage of the Canon. And the Sony's main advantage, shooting in 4K, is pretty much null and void with the camera's overheating issues. For $1k the Sony basically needs to have no compromises, but sadly that's not the case. Oh, and it's battery life is terrible too.

Nice comparison. I keep wavering on the fence about getting a RX100v. It seems really good but maybe not quite the perfect solution for me. The Nikon DL18-50 seems like a competitive option as well, though very few people seem to use it and there's usually a reason for that...
