Love how Chill you come across , my speed . Thx 🙏🇨🇦
Thanks so much Claude 🙏
This is quite beautiful and inspiring. Really enjoyed watching you build up layers and create depth. Glad to have stumbled on this video.
Thanks so much Emily! Glad you found me as well 😃
I find that paintings at the time didnt inspire me that when I look at them much later that I like them much more, sometimes I look at a painting and I cant believe I did it. That inspires me to get back out there.
That happens to me as well - thanks for the feedback 😃
Like how you overcame the compositional challenge, by extending the tall dry grasses towards the water. Nice recovery!
I liked it better once I got it back to the studio 😃
Thanks Jon very informative
Thank you 🙏
Thank you Jon for your honesty about what really keeps us from painting. Getting enough sleep, eating right and exercising makes you more resilient to take on plein air painting. I was told once that disapline is the key to becoming a succesful artist. Your videos are inspiring to go out and paint.
Thank you 🙏 I’m glad you watched and that you got some inspiration from it. I love seeing other artists push through resistance and grow
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
I see you have painted a lot because it shows it in your work. I like it. it is relaxing to watch you and see the steps you take to have a nice composition. I paint mostly in my studio from photos that I take but when i see painters like you I want to grab my easel go out and paint.
Thank you Juan! You should, especially if you like being outside in nature
@@JonBradhamArtist Yes, i will, I have something in mind, i live close to the Lake of chapala Jalisco and the view from my house is very nice. thank you for the enocuragment.

Hi Jon, beautiful work. I love the subdued colors, it really speaks to the cloudy overcast day really well. I do think you are right about the stream - I'm going to hop over to see the finished version. Thanks for posting.

Very calming! Thank you for sharing your art.

Lovely Jon. Had to watch this twice. It was so relaxing I fell asleep. Beautiful soft colors.
Thank you! I guess it’s good to good to be relaxing 🤗
Great content and a beautiful painting Jon.
I struggle with finding a scene with a composition that works for me so your comments on this were especially helpful to me.
Thanks so much.
That’s great Katherine! Happy painting!

Hi jon.. i have a lot to learn from you.thank you my friend
Thank you 🙏
Fun video and nice painting, but somehow I missed the answer for the question how to avoid the artist block. You just said you don't get it anymore :)
Thanks for watching. If you watch the whole video I explain that as long as I eat right, stay hydrated, get enough sleep, and paint what inspires me, I don’t get blocked
@@JonBradhamArtist Thanks, I have no idea how I missed that part :)
Artist's block: Is it just procrastination, fed by an ambition to work on or create a painting that exceeds the time you have available?
Interesting thought - is that how it is for you? Thank you for watching?
Yeah. I often don't get started because I know I don't have a solid block of time to achieve what I want to achieve. The solution is to just shift to a different medium, that allows me to work in bits and pieces, without worries of wasting paint. But shifting, say, to watercolors, generates a different look. Helpful as a full color design for an oil painting, but lacking the painterly effects that are only doable in oils. But, with the colors worked out in WC, it is a lot easier to confidently attempt the oil painting. It's usually a matter of 'just getting started, and the "artist block" fades away. But, for a complex painting, shifting choice of medium removes the hesitation and procrastination, and also provides new ideas about how to approach an artwork.
@@ralphhancock7449 good advice 👍
Not finish what I see he just started to paint it needs another 80% of work
Thank you for watching and for the feedback 🙏😃
