Tanjiro's father is Tanjuro Kamado Tanjiro's Ancestor is Sumiyoshi Kamado And that person was saved by Yoriichi Tsugikuni - The strongest Demon Slayer, the creator of the most powerful Sun breathing and the one who gave PTSD to Muzan. SPOILER AHEAD: Yoriichi's brother Michikatsu Tsugikuni is Upper 1 and uses 2nd strongest breathing tech - Moon Breathing
Yoriichi is not Tanjiro's father. He is the first and strongest Sun breather, blessed and sent down to Earth by God in order to kill Muzan. Muzan is afraid of death, therefore afraid of Yoriichi. Yoriichi failed to decapitate Muzan due to his escaping. But, Muzan now suffers trauma from Yoriichi because he was the most powerful demon slayer in history. He was also the closest to ever decapitate Muzan. Tanjiro's father adopted the Sun breathing technique from Yoriichi's other Sun breathing descendants and turned it into a warding dance. Yoriichi has a twin brother, that is Kokushibo AKA Upper Moon One. Kokushibo envied Yoriichi for being so much stronger, so he yielded to Muzan and became a fellow demon in the hopes he'd surpass Yoriichi. Obviously, Yoriichi eventually died but Kokushibo lived on due to his regenerative demon blood.
people kinda piss me off with the kokushibo theories. tanjiro is 16 years old. upper ranks haven’t changed in 113 years. yoriichi was stronger than muzan and atp in the anime we know this by his cells shaking in the face of sun breathing. it takes thinking for 2 minutes to understand Kokushibo is his own entity
