I love this movie
This appears to be the complete film. I've seen others through the years that lacked certain parts included here.
Angela Lansbury here age 21.....age 94 in 2020...
The song she sang in this movie she sang in Murder She Wrote as her identical cousin.
Thankyou x
This is Lucille Bremers last musical movie I've seen but can't believe her singing voice is dubbed by Trudy Erwin
Alex Tan...
Yes, many of the "ghost singers" who worked at the studios dubbing actors and actresses concentrated on singing which would match the actor's mannerisms and how they perceived how the actor would sound. Many of those voice dubbings were so exacting that the audiences just assumed the voices belonged to the actors. Trudy Erwin also dubbed for Lucille Ball in Too Many Girls.
Some great performances, for me the stand out ones were Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra...
Angela Lansbury sung this same song in one of the Murder, She Wrote episodes. I think it is one of the episodes where she plays her English cousin.
I remember that episode. Murder She Wrote was a very favorite series of mine. I believe I've seen every episode.
Gotta love Lena Horne. I never knew she was black when I was a little girl, my mother had to explain it...just thought she was beautiful and talented
How did MGM said Judy Garland wasn’t beautiful?
because she didnt fit their standard of Buxom body harlots...She was ...in the beginning a sweet young naive girl till Hollywood drove her crazy😔
Never die away
Judy wasn't Marilyn Miller, but she filled her shoes better than June Haver did in LOOK FOR THE SILVER LINING.
Strange to think someone using RUclips remembers Marilyn Miller. What was Sarah Bernhardt like?
@@rodneykingston6420 I've seen her on film, and if you were a nostalgia or film buff in the 70s, like I was, you heard her name.
Didn't include The Way You Look Tonight, wonder why?
Arthur Freed couldn't stuff *every* one of Kern's songs into this movie.
Min 36: ... The past of Jessica Fletcher haha
OMG, suddenly Van Morrison appears!
Van Heflin???
Do you mean Van Johnson? Good dance number!
@@girlfromthebronxbywayofelb7288 oh you are right...darn auto correct

Precurser for Singing in the Rain with dance routine,,,but wait, I thought this was Victorian times, and we are suddenly in short skirts and plastic umbrellas...but let's be inconsistent, shall we? The little girl is sometime in Victorian gear, then others the 40s love of little girls and short skirts and bare legs...be consistent!
