The confidence mixed with humility shows this man's intelligence. I'm looking forward to how he transitions to The Bigs. I haven't seen a great forkball in years.
I watched aIittle bit of Yoshida but I hav'nt seen Senga pitch, cant wait to see him on the mound, I wish the Mets also got Yoshida, in his 7 seasons averaging .327 as a hitter, maybe could be the next Ichiro
I love how he can't wait to go head-to-head with the whole Phillies line-up, it shows that he has a bit of that dog in him as well as being very humble. He's going to need that dog here in the MLB. I like his demeanor, I think he'll transition well, very relaxed and very humble. I also like how the other day he said he can't wait to learn from JV and Max, which again shows ultimate humility. He reminds me a lot of Hideo Nomo without the funky wind up, but their release points are very similar. Their stuff is also very similar though Kodai has a liver arm which bodes very well for Kodai because a young Nomo was nearly un-hittable at times. If he pitches up to or even near ace form and Quintana pitches like he did for the Cardinals last year, then we really got two steals salary wise I mean. I wish Kodai much success LFGM!!!!
Senga's shares his love for One Piece to the world. 😂 Some fun facts about it. 1. He keeps a whole volume of One Piece manga in his locker in Fukuoka Dome. 2. Lots of his walk-up song are from the One Piece OST. "One Day" "Believe" The one he used the longest is "Kokoro no Chizu" the OP from the Water 7 arc. 3. When One Piece Film Red was released in Japan, he actually got corona and couldn't watch it the day it was released so he was frustrated about it. His teammates who watched the film first were teasing him about it. 😂 4. One of his biggest dreams is to meet Oda-sensei in person.
I’m expecting big things. If all goes well with his transition to the MLB ball and staying healthy, Senga will win a Cy Young. As a Japanese and Ohtani fan boy I really hope he joins Senga in New York in 2024.
NYC 🗽 is the perfect city for him being that it is the most diverse city on the planet 🌎 with roughly 800 languages being spoken on a daily basis. And he will be playing his home games in the great borough of QUEENS (my favorite). The most diverse of the 5 boroughs that constitute NEWYORK CITY. Welcome to METS NATION KODAI. LGM!!!!!!
The Mets off-season moves were the best but most of all I hope Senga lives up to the hype. I'm confident he will and perhaps maybe challenge Shohei as the best Japanese starter in the MLB.
For anyone interested, "put it in the books" is very hard to translate. Without context, I'm guessing a native English speaker wouldn't understand what this phrase is in reference to. And a direct translation into Japanese would literally just mean "put it inside of a book". Also the translator didn't understand the meaning and translated it to "give me a good effort/ do your best" An ideal translation would take time and creativity and would basically just be making an original cool sounding end of game catchphrase in Japanese.
Let’s give everyone over the age of 13 the Universal Basic Income. The Ubi = getting a guaranteed a minimum income of $1,500ish USD/month. And we can make the retirement age 14. That’s true freedom. And we can make the minimum wage $0/hour, ethically. We need to support the entrepreneurs. If the minimum wage is $0/hour, 10 to 13 year olds will spend time creating some innovative jobs and 14 year olds could create $0/hour jobs. And the ubi is only enough for a basic life. people will still have to work to afford extravagant items like TVs and cars. The retirement age will be 14 with the UBI in place. And someone in your city may have become financially dependent on their abusive partner. Without money, it can seem impossible for them to leave the relationship.
One Piece. What a legend.
Foreal
Right. 😳
My man is on the CRUISE 🏴☠️
Oda san would be proud.
It is indeed. Apparently Ohtani’s is Slam Dunk - yes, he sees the irony.
The confidence mixed with humility shows this man's intelligence. I'm looking forward to how he transitions to The Bigs. I haven't seen a great forkball in years.
Kevin Gausman?
What an awesome personality he has, I can't wait to see him on the mound this year. S3NG4!
S3N G4D
It’ll be nice to have *real* pitcher , and a really good one to wear 34 for us for once . I can only recall weirdos using that number on our team
I watched aIittle bit of Yoshida but I hav'nt seen Senga pitch, cant wait to see him on the mound, I wish the Mets also got Yoshida, in his 7 seasons averaging .327 as a hitter, maybe could be the next Ichiro
You can tell how happy he is to finally be here. So pumped we got him LFGM
Already loving this dude. When he said his favorite place in new York is queens 🤘🤘🤘 LFGM
Thank you for uploading the interview.
I support the Mets from Japan! LFGM!

Agreed.

GREATな存在になってねぇ〜!
COOOL…
Seems super confident and very funny
He was the ace in japan and his team won a bunch of titles there so he knows how to win!
Man this dude is awesome, cant wait to watch what he does in the orange and blue !
As a long time listener of the mets'd up podcast, I'm proud of the boys.
Who are you most excited to face ?
“The whole Phillies lineup”

That was the best answer!

Can’t wait too watch this man pitch!! PURE ART ❤️
Props to everyone making it to the Mets! A longtime follower of Marc! Love the Howie Rose refs!
Damn, this hyped me up for him! Cannot wait.
Thats sweet. 34 was always my number through highschool and college.
Lets go Kodai!! Welcome to the Mets!
센가 화이팅

simple and brilliant answer... favorite place so far in NYC? Queens...
I’m expecting big things. If all goes well with his transition to the MLB ball and staying healthy, Senga will win a Cy Young. As a Japanese and Ohtani fan boy I really hope he joins Senga in New York in 2024.
“And that’s why Kodai senga will be the best pitcher to ever live”
I love him already! LGM!
Lets go SENGA!!!! 💙🧡
Im not a Mets fan but I hope he does well. Vids from Japan show the potential stuff he has.
My man
Great coup guys, getting the Senga interview!
Dodger fan here, goddam you guys buying everyone, lol but excited to see him develop in the mlb, as a kid we loved Nomo
ONE PIECE!!!!!!!! Already a fan of SENGA but advising One Piece as a manga to check out only shows he has great taste as well!!!!

Fave manga is one piece? Yeah my new fave player

Okay Markkkkkkk 🤣🤣💯☝️
Hey the Giraffe is in the interview, Im a Phillies Fan looking forward to when he faces them
The Mets off-season moves were the best but most of all I hope Senga lives up to the hype. I'm confident he will and perhaps maybe challenge Shohei as the best Japanese starter in the MLB.
I think the best Japanese starter is Yu Darvish😏
The best Japanese pitcher is Superman Shohei Ohtani, and also the 2nd best hitter behind Ichiro
@@権田周平 yeah career wise Yu is the top. Kodai works out with Darvish in the offseason a lot so I think hes got great advice
Its a new day!
Sanshin - sounds like you had a samurai sword swung either over your head, or your abdomen. Severed in two.
Holy shit! Giraffe neck Marc doing the interview!
Actually, in Japanese,
Ghost fork = Obake fork
and
Let’s go Mets! = Let’s Fuckin’ go Metsssss!!!!!! (No but really, it’s more like “Ikouze Mets!”)

Might be a nitpick, but I feel like it would’ve been a bit more personal if there was no voiceover and just subtitles instead
He's in a good spot, playing alongside two future HOFamers and world series champions. It's a good move for the Mets.
It kinda weirds me out that the translator doesn't talk in SENGA-SAN's point of view
Get to know his cutter
He gets to wear Goku's colors orange and blue
LFGM ‼️‼️
I think he'll have a monster first year because no one will be familiar with his ghost forkball.
Imagine ur 2 aces pitch in NLWC pitch and u guys get swept 🤣 u guys were home too
"One PIece" Average Kodai Senga W
He will be Yusei Kikuchi
If that is true , he will be a bust
should've asked him about his bestie shohei 😂❤
I already like this guy. Joins Nimmo & Pete as my favorite Mets!
obsessed
Wait Marc is here lmao
Well looks like I have to read one piece
👏👏👏👏
He seems like he's got a pair of big KINTAMAs.
LFGM🍎
I like how everyone is calling this guy bulldog and this and that, but is yet to throw a pitch in the majors. Lol
#RingTheBell
Good sushi in NYC?
Please just put subtitles instead of someone voice over. The other voice is too distracting to me.
Continue using the voice over 🐝
Hope the sushi in NY is to his liking
Maybe should avoid the blow fish.
Who are these two nerds lol? Hopefully this guy pans out as he is the only ace under 40 we have
One pieceee
日本語部分を聞かせて~~(´;ω;`)
He looks like an upgrade from Walker, which is not saying much really.
that contract is really reasonable too. Could be the steal of the offseason
Is this real or very good edit?
Seeing as it’s posted on the official channel, I would say it’s real.
LGM!!!!!🏟🗽
This dude is a bulldog, just watch his games, pitches with a chip on shoulder, even stares down players some.
ONE PIECE!!!!!
First thing you learned about him is that he makes bad decisions.
Is his interpreter just some kind of faceless entity that's unfit to be shown on camera? Show some respect.
悲劇的にユニフォーム似合わねーな。😢メッツのユニフォーム草。🤮
Mets resigned Ottovino - 2 years
Thank God 🙏
