lowko you like almost suck at sc1 I think but in sc2 it feels like your lot better

I love how Kerrigan is just an adorable little fluffy ball of death.
This zergling in the pool swimming around is the cutest.
Don't let the cuteness distract you from the fact that the Amerigo cutscene is one of the best in all of Starcraft.

When I was a kid I always thought that the marine who died after drinking a beer drank like an infested beer and got mutated or something... but after slowing it down frame by frame you can see one frame showing the top of a Hydralisk's (or Hunter Killer's) head so I think he got stabbed through the skull by their scythe arms and dragged into the rafters. Mystery finally solved after over a decade.

guess its a individual thing...but gota say as a kid i thought that was obvious to most since you see the thing stab its arms into the marines head from behind before he is pulled up ^^ love how details can be overlooked deepending on what someone's brain focuses on.

Carbot said why we won't "cartoon-ify" Starcraft 2 is because that game uses 3D models and not 2D sprites like the first Starcraft does. So don't expect him to do Warcraft 3 either.
He can still do Diablo 2 when that gets remastered (and and this is points it's not a question of "if", but "when" it gets remastered).
warcraft 1/2 would fit better for a carbot reforged

And it helps make him feel so much more than you like he is ancient but powerful and that it is wise not to take him lightly.

This is too cute. Even the doodads in installation campaign maps changed the dead marines into just drunk ones with cans of beer everywhere.

Bro. I'm 50, and I still play Starcraft 1, Starcraft 2, and Heroes of the Storm.
This is the power StarCraft has always held. Blizzard seems to not notice this a lot.
It think it's an issue of how competitive Starcraft works, rather that casual/campaign Starcraft not being fun for all ages.
Speed and Actions are really important. In Campaign, for exmaple, you really just have to break down big bases, so the druability, range, and attack power of hydras is useful, but for expansions protecting and dening, mutas become much more important.

BTW, did you know that starcraft 1 could be played on a x486 computer with less than 1 Gb hard drive space? I learned that by experience. It was more than 15 years ago, good times :)

I like how on Aiur, the Protoss Homeworld where there's probably millions of Protoss, there's several patches of minerals and gases that have been left completely untouched.

I remember building 4 hatcheries at a time worked pretty good.. That way you could instantly create and entire unit of 12 Mutas/Hydras etc.

In Sc1 as Zerg you used to Build Hatcherys in one spot and then Ctrl+Click the larvae. so you dont need a hotkey for every hatchery ;)

My son always created a fast air group called, "The Suspicious Activity Patrol Group" for detecting whatever was left

@@Purrfect_Werecat depends a lot on the map too, some maps require air units to scout or access high ground bases

Yesterday my dad gave me a carbot zergling plushe for Christmas, it is the single objekt that has made me the happyest. He is called Swarmy and is watching this with me.
Every now and then I come back to these videos by Lowko. They're so fun to watch, and it's hilarious to see that even years after the uploads he has people in the comments giving him tips on how he should be playing xD The zerg units were by far the cutest in the carbot series

I have always held to the idea that whenever a drone holding resources morphs into a structure it should use them as part of the cost.
The Amerigo cutscene deserves awards
He seems to have forgotten a lot of the details in these missions, so I wonder if we actually will get a "storm the friendly marines" moment later on. :)
I remember having one of the OG guide books for this game as a kid, and one of the lines was to the effect of "A zerg player without hydralisks is a zerg player who's losing", and I can't help but chuckle because it's like the exact opposite for SC2 lol

You CAN cheese it, there's no reason to defend it while it's harvesting. You just need to make sure you have an evac ready for when it's done.

So Kerrigan can storm and cloak..... Imagine if high Templar could also cloak!
Once Guardians become available, the rest of the Zerg missions are so easy. Tech up and build enough Hydras to defend the base while you make 2 squads of Guardians and 2-3 squads of Mutalisks. Then just attack move across the map until everything is dead. The Mutas ONLY exist to protect the Guardians from air units and to replace any Guardian that does happen to get killed. It's boring to play that way all the time, but it's sometimes just fun to watch the enemy get absolutely murdered with little to no effort.

The reason Zerg buildings are cheap is because they are taking into account the 50 minerals to make the drone in the first place.
1:07:30 I always put Kerrigan on that island and rename it Kerrigan's Island (Reference to "Gilligan's Island")
I recommend putting Parasites on critters and transports. It can get the enemy base mapped out for you as it wanders around the map.
in SC1, the easiest way to manage your zerglings is to burrow them when not in combat. if you double click on a burrowed zergling, it will select 12 burrowed zerglings nearby. So you can quickly use double click, unburrow, attack move on the minimap, rinse, and repeat.This will let you send all your zerglings in without having to use control groups.
The biggest improvement in SC2 was the ability of units to elbow friendly units out of the way and move past them.

To answer your question about drones for sc1 I think the answer was 2 drones for one patch of minerals and 3 drones for 1 geyser. Then 12 additional drones for your natural. If you expand you'll need about 24 drones to expand. If it's long distance mining add additional drones accordingly.
Just watching you switch between the cartoon version and the original version just shows the difference on how much easier the cartoon version is on the eyes
EZ win for any zerg campaign level: Make 24-36 mutalisks, set them to follow a scourge or another mutalisk that is patrolling till they all ball up nice, then move command the lead muta/scourge into the middle of any enemy base. Once it's dead, the muta death ball following it will eradicate anything and everything in seconds.

Funny thing, they cut out the "cerebrate" from Kerrigan's "yes, cerebrate" quote in an early patch to Starcraft - it's still present in versions back when say, a zealot was 80/80 and a Scout was 90/130. Funny that they decided to bring it back for Remastered.
I was thinking about this -- it wasn't a patch, it was a sound file installed with Brood War in a folder that overwrote her original Yes, Cerebrate. You could change any sound file or portrait animation by editing these files. My friends and I made a custom campaign with like 6 levels and custom portraits and voicework. Was fun.
You could also import any additional sound files through the editor but it wasn't as high tech as it is now.

You can double click one of the larvae, and it will select 12 of them when you have a lot of hatch in one screen.
Wasnt that the trick tho, have your hatches in a group so you can ctrl click or double click and have a bunch selected

One of the sounds of the Zerg Overlord (sometimes the first click on them) will always remind me of the sound of a truck's engine trying to start.
