My friends think I'm boring because I stay home a lot but they don't realize how much fun I have building Lego sets and Gundam kits, making dinner with my wife+kid, and movie nights. Just because I'm not out drinking every night or partying, doesn't mean I'm bored.
@@Heartbreak_kiddd This may be true, but with unbalanced pressure, you’re left with the same carbon you started with, and nothing to show from it. Balance and focus is key!
Boring = less stress and less drama. As a hardcore introvert that has been dealing with pretty severe depression and anxiety on a near everyday basis for 12 or so years now, "boring" is definitely my thing. I get excitement out of watching the squirrels play tag with each other in my back yard and that's really all I need for entertainment. Screw everyone else and their expectations.
I never realized this until I went on vacation recently to Hawaii. While I loved the scenery, beaches, food, locals etc. Coming back home I wasn’t really sad to leave… if anything I felt kind of happy to get home and back to my routine. I felt like something was wrong with me tho because I was looking forward to going home and my vacation was over. This video really let me realize that I already have a life I like. It’s simple, but I do things I like everyday. These last few days on social media have made me feel like I’m missing out on life, that I should be traveling more, dating more, make more friends etc and I was feeling like a failure, but again I’ve come to realize is that my life is pretty much how I want it. Sure there are goals that I want to achieve like getting my own home or switching jobs, but overall I don’t dread my life and I didn’t dread coming back to it after my vacation. Thanks for the video! 😊
I’m 27 and I live a simple single mom life. I do the same things everyday and never get bored. Love my own company and don’t have much friends. My family thinks I’m the most boring person they ever met because I never go out to party or drink. I eat healthy and always by myself. Well, some may call it boring or weird, but this is PEACE❤️ Alot of ppl cannot stay by themselves. I love this life
It’s good to see Matt again for quite some time. Seems like he’s doing better than ever. May he continue to succeed further. God bless him all the way.
Choosing stability and simplicity can be a profound act of self-care, allowing us to focus on what truly matters and cultivate a sense of contentment. Moreover, it offers a chance to embrace a slower pace, savoring the small joys and finding beauty in the everyday. I appreciate this thought-provoking perspective, as it encourages us to challenge societal norms and embrace our authentic selves. Each person's definition of a fulfilling life is unique, and there's no "one-size-fits-all" approach to happiness.
Finally!! Someone brave enough to be “boring” and unapologetic about it! I love my simple life, it makes me so much happier than my previous, stress complicated life. I’m building my way to be as boring as possible 😊 Thanks for the inspiration Matt & congrats on the wedding
I hate that Godin quote so much because I love to travel and it's never been about escaping for me... I totally agree with the minimalist, routine life as a way for peace and calm and financial prosperity, though
This speaks so much to me! I have a lot of people tell me, "But don't you want to try new things and live an adventure?!" And I'm like, actually no. I love reading my books, going for my daily runs, and watching great movies on Saturday nights. I have no desire to travel the world, get little sleep, be hungry all the time, and not be able to find cold water lol. I love my little life. Why would I want to take a break from it?
I love traveling and exploring, but I can’t do it all the time. I find new cultures, food and places inspiring, but it does burn me out. I get the travel bug, but I only need to itch that scratch like once a year.
I really needed to hear that, Matt. It reminded me of something. People are often so miserable because they think they are not where they outta be. But the best way to get where you want to be, is to embrace wherever it is you happen to be at this very moment. Accept your situation, count your blessings and spend your time like it's gold. Complaining and comparing is the fastlane to misery. Gratitude is the road to piece and prosperity. Although the latter means different things to different people. Look at the rich and the famous. Most of them are going completely off the rails.
I started going through my subs and unsubbing from channels I don’t view anymore and that don’t add value to my life and I’m glad I didn’t unsubscribe from you, Matt
This is great advice. I quit my web design job and did the big adventure thing of hiking across the country, and it changed my life in the way that it made me realize I could choose something different for my day to day reality. I moved to Colorado and I work in wilderness therapy now during the summers - a hard but rewarding job that lets me be outdoors - and work at a coffee shop and do freelance design during the winters. I love the seasonal variety, and the rhythms that come along with this lifestyle. I also share a house with some of my best friends that I met through work, and that community is probably the best I've ever had. Can't imagine what would have happened if I had let myself languish at that desk job just because I had good pay and a 401k.
It's 1am here and I have a feeling of dread and anxiety about what the morning is going to offer, the same feeling I've had over the last few months. I'm a creative person but I feel like I'm in this sinking hole and everyday sink ever so slightly. And then this video miraculously appeared moments ago and it's just what I needed. So thanks Matt
Just do something every day that will move you to being the person you want to be, having the life you want. It adds up like you will not believe. Good luck, anxiety is horrible.
Why don't you leave your town, go to a new town and treat the new town as a 'creativity hub', where you can do as you please without explanation, naysayers or old expectations/inbult behaviours? Each day you awake in the new town you realise just what you've left behind, and it will motivate you to use your time well. Plus the inspiration of meeting new people and having new experiences will further feed your creativity. How do I know this? It's how I live. Painful, but rewarding.
Hello Matt, it's been around 5 + years since I have been watching you. Have implemented the same ideologies, not entirely but in parts and well, things are quite organised and systematic - personally and professionally. The pursuit of constant happiness and an imaginative life, was never the answer. It is doing what you love the most, on a daily basis, but to achieve that one has to work for it, and en route, elements such as doubt, fear, sacrifice, negativity all come in - ultimately its completely on you, as to how you let those elements govern you or intrigue you towards working harder. Life is a never ending journey, never to be satisfied, but to be grateful and disciplined. Thank you for it all.
just realized that it's 4 years since I watched your very first video about Day in a life of a minimalist with Nat. Feel like yesterday with a new concept of minimalism. Cheers !!!
Oh, man! The outtakes!!! Thank you for this one. I'm finding boring to be more and more satisfying in my life. This is a good reminder to reflect on that some more.

The mundane doesn't have to be boring and the small everyday things and actions can be beautiful. Repetition doesn't have to be boring as long as you don't repeat boring situations. I love romanticizing my life and change what I can't romanticize. Every cup of coffee and every meal is an act of self love or self care, and I enjoy moving my body and I am grateful for the safety provided by my job, and I LOVE creating space in my life and my mind to create out of joy instead of productivity. It is not perfect and perfection would leave my life empty anyway ❤
I swear, you may live a day-to-day life, but I can resonate so much with the wisdom you share. Life is all about what we make it. Boring is not boring if you know what to expect from it and where you can find bits of happiness.
I was just thinking about this as I was scrolling Instagram the other day. A lot of my friends from my 20’s are partying it up in nightclubs in all these tropical locations. The first thing I thought was how boring my life is compared to that….and how much more I enjoy it

Congrats on the wedding! Such beautiful pictures! I related to this video as I have had a very unexpected and high excitement last month as I am studying abroad in a new country right now. While I do miss some of my routines that keep me grounded and progressing towards goals, I think it is important to be okay that different seasons in life will look different. You get to choose and rechoose how to measure your life and if success is about having everyday be a microchasm of your values or about how well you can find balance across a bigger timeline (a week/month/year).
Hey Matt, glad you had a wonderful month! The thing i absolutely love about your videos is that they always feel so personal (in the talking style to the viewer) and that they also have excellent humor in them. That really is what separates you from other motivational/educational RUclipsrs 😊

OMG! So happy for you! Congratulations on getting married and having the most beautiful bride ever! I loved your Ig pics from the wedding! and I am obsessed with your content! Ive been asking myself how to get rid of this stuck feeling of boring life even though I TRY to make it ''better''. I cannot believe how 4mins of one video can make my eyes open and give me motivation for ....well.....literally LIFE?!!!!
So crazy, I ALSO got married to my wife and wanted to bring our families from different countries together - and we ALSO did it in Italy, even though none of us are Italians.. And she ALSO wore a dress almost exactly like the one, Nat is wearing 🙀
I found your channel recently, but I have to say this video motivated me to push out more content. Definitely going to make my life a bit more boring this winter so I can set aside all of the overcomplications of life and pump out more videos. Thanks for the inspo!

The life I want to live: having my own business, less stress, more me-time and doing things (for my business) I really love to do from my inner-self. How to get there: more commitment to goals and deadlines, more motivation and productivity resulting in more stress, working almost the entire day (40h weekday job + own business to build), etc. etc.
Welcome back and congrats on the wedding!! Beautiful bride 👰🏻♀️!!! This was a good one!! The answer is Art!! I would love to be an artist and not be and look boring!!! Sometimes I play the song cool kids by Echosmith ! 😆 wishing to be cool!
Love this! Your life may seem boring for some, but if it’s fulfilling for you, go for it. Boring is not bad. Others just make it feel/look bad. Let’s just continue living how we want it to be, every day.
One of my friends left her job as a librarian to cook. Now she's a chef in a 5-star hotel. Another friend of mine left IT for psychology. She got a master's degree and now enjoys her work. I left my own field for science. I never wait for weekends because I enjoy every single day of my current life. And it all started from that very question "What would you choose to do if you didn't have to think about money?"
'If I could do anything, regardless of money, what would it be?' I am so grateful that right now I have the time and savings to do that. Pretty much the same as you, create. I just graduated, and I finally have the time to do all the creative projects that I want to be doing. I have some money saved up and I still live at home, so I have the time now. I saw an offer for a job with a stable income, but I decided not to do it. I can always go to a stable income job later. Now I want to be free, and create, when I can!
Wedding. How amazing. I missed this video. This was so lively and wholesome. I think simple and intentional is the most ideal thing. It reduces stress. It makes you feel more control.
This was so much fun to watch, Matt! Love all the little jokes, to sandwich a more serious message that I completely resonate with: building a life that you don't want to escape from. And so glad to hear bringing everyone together for the wedding in Europe worked out and was an amazing experience, woohoo! 😀
It's so often that I see people say that they think normal is boring (especially on dating apps). But if everyone is doing the same things, travelling, partying, etc., then that is "normal", or the "norm". Which means that staying in and reading a book is much more interesting.
Explains why i like my boring routine..and i thought I am too tight coz I am not like others around me.. rather my boring routine keeps me calm and reaching closer to my goals which make me really happy.. 😌 and enjoy the occasional outings more then ..thanks
Expert OWEN is the right person to start trading cryptocurrency with.. she knows her way around the crypto world.. she has been helping me increase my investment every day for over months..
It’s a lunatic asylum out there. Many people can now see it and want to escape. Contentment is the key. Contentment within where you don’t have to chase things to impress others anymore. Where you are finally happy with being you, no matter what people think. I had the big house and a 65 mustang, but I was unhappy and wanted more. That’s when I realised it would never be enough and it was so stressful.
Couldn’t agree with this video more. I too know too many people who live for vacations and a life away from their life they built. Build a life worth being grateful for everyday, without the need for escape 👌🏼
Am I the only one who's going to point out the symbolism Matt made from undressing the colorful shirt at the end and replacing it with a shirt that identifies him? It is so simple but very creative. You don't see that often in RUclipsrs these days.
Congrats Matt! Just got married myself and seeing members of our families come together for the first time is fantastic! Unfortunately, the boss needed me back literally a couple days later, so we're gonna honeymoon over seas in the spring 🤘
Thank you, Matt. The few seconds you let us think of what we wanted to do made me write, "I want to create posters". After the video, I Whatsapp-ed some friends and told them to find me if they needed to create posters, templates, brochures and cards. One came back to say he needed help. I woke up with a smile this morning because I can do this for someone. I have a full-time job, and I earn comfortably. I'm not looking to make creative work my source of income. Creative work relaxes me; I have been doing it as a hobby, and now I want to stretch out to help others.
I love the fact that others think that my life is boring, but I love what I do, because even though I have a job, its a reactive one that is different everyday, no 2 days are ever the same. And I do have a creative outlet, which is vital for those days that aren't so great. All lives have its low moments. Great video Matt
I love my boring life. But it's really not boring to me. I love my nonprofit job, which makes a difference in my community. I love my kid and my husband, who are joy personified. I gain a sense of peace from having the same morning routine and enjoying the stillness in the mornings. My schedule is crazy so I just decided to get up at the same early time every morning and enjoy a relaxed routine that includes cleaning the kitchen, meditating, running and reading. If I could do anything with any amount of money, I wouldn't change much. I'd like a room in a house all my own where I could meditate, read and write. Something with lots of plants and nice art. That's about it. I had wanderlust in my twenties but I'm 39 now and I just want to enjoy my home.
Hey y’all! It feels SO GOOD to be back. Just a reminder that my RUclips course is open for the last time this year... slowgrowth.com/masteryoutube 🤓

May you both stay together always. Love from India.
And you are ALSO Matt D'avella 😂
Congrats on your wedding, you month off, and the new shirt! Love it!
Really glad to see you happy, Matt! ❤️ Congratulations on your wedding and your honeymoon! 🌷🌷🌷
What a beautiful wedding, you both are an adorable couple. Best wishes
I found your channel recently, but I have to say this video motivated me to push out more content. Definitely going to make my life a bit more boring this winter so I can set aside all of the overcomplications of life and pump out more videos. Thanks for the inspo!

yay you're back! So glad you had a good time away!
Seriously could not stop smiling during this whole video! Glad that you are energized and ready to get back to boring!
I like how you acknowledged adding in moments of excitement. I don’t know if I like the idea of ever referring to my life as “boring,” but I understand and stand behind the message for sure.
I love to live a boring minimal life. Makes things a lot less stressful.
Nice to see ya had a good time off dude! Wedding looked beautiful x
Swear bro, this guy never misses
Yeah I got married, travelled Europe & did t have to work for a month. Such a boring life! Talk about a reality check needed
this is my life same routine everyday same meal prep same workouts same job apart from the clothes and vacation i think it’s very similar to yours lol i’ve questioned myself before thinking i was too radical on my life style but perhaps not, i just want to build a family and have a boring routine during the day and come home to my boring kids and wife lol

And it all started from that very question "What would you choose to do if you didn't have to think about money?"
happy to see you again! please keep posting the bloopers at the end of the video. :)
2 messages from this video:
1: Be intentional how you live your life.
2: NAT IS AWESOME!!!
I been following your RUclips channel for so long and I’m just so excited for you! Congrats on your wedding.
Love seeing your Videos again Matt. Congratulations on your wedding and well deserved break
Hahaha I love your videos! Congratulations @Matt, wish you both all the best! 🥳😊
This was so much fun to watch, Matt! Love all the little jokes, to sandwich a more serious message that I completely resonate with: building a life that you don't want to escape from. And so glad to hear bringing everyone together for the wedding in Europe worked out and was an amazing experience, woohoo! 😀
I built a life I don’t need a holiday from. It’s the key, it’s simple and most people don’t realise
when ever I come to watch your video I become happy and energetic, love you bro ❤
It's so often that I see people say that they think normal is boring (especially on dating apps). But if everyone is doing the same things, travelling, partying, etc., then that is "normal", or the "norm". Which means that staying in and reading a book is much more interesting.
Omg, as always, love your videos. I especially loved the bloopers at the end! Did I miss that in the wardrobe video?
Yoo Matt, that previous month felt like a year. Good to have you back with the amazing content.
This is super timely since I also came from a week-long vacation as well! Thanks, Matt, and congrats to you and Nat on your beautiful wedding 🥰
This video made me laugh out loud multiple times 😂
Explains why i like my boring routine..and i thought I am too tight coz I am not like others around me.. rather my boring routine keeps me calm and reaching closer to my goals which make me really happy.. 😌 and enjoy the occasional outings more then ..thanks
Will i get a heart from Matt D'Avella
I can't believe it love you matt❤ and thanks for everything 😇
Congratulations 🎉 looks like your wedding was fantastic! Glad to see you back!
Despite the economic downturn,I'm so happy☺️. I have been earning $ 60,000 returns from my $7,000 investment every 13days.
This must be an investment with BENJAMIN OWEN
Expert OWEN is the right person to start trading cryptocurrency with.. she knows her way around the crypto world.. she has been helping me increase my investment every day for over months..
That's amazing, I have been hearing about expert OWEN and her genius mind in the crypto market, please how did you earn such good amount?..
@Theresa Tracy I just looked her up on google and she's a licensed broker, I am contacting her right away, thanks
Build a life worth being grateful for everyday, without the need for escape 👌🏼
the bed roll transition cracked me up 🤣
That shirt is 🏆🍍
Am I the only one who's going to point out the symbolism Matt made from undressing the colorful shirt at the end and replacing it with a shirt that identifies him?
Health, hair and everything is looking better than before, Matt ! good to see you backon YT
Congratulations, wishing you and Nat both a long and happy married life!
Awww congratulations on your marriage Matt! Welcome back :)
Welcome Back Matt! Can’t believe it’s been a month! Congrats on getting married!!!
Love you matt. Great to see you are finally back. Missed you buddy
Love you too
It’s good to see you again Matt.
