    JM sounds paranoid, like a local gangster controlling his neighborhood. That story never has a happy ending. Perhaps the gangster will see a ray of light before everything around him is destroyed. Sadly, that may be wishful thinking.

      I would bet this is a “think tank” channel funded by the military industrial complex to promote war business. Mearshimer is a con-artist using rhetorical tricks to fool people. Instead of the mainstream practice to image the US as the good guy, he simply provides a fresh scenario where the US is a badass but that is normal because so are everyone else from Hitler to China. Chinese scholars are not used to thinking from the position of elites of the military industrial complex. When Yan opened with “China also wants to be the most powerful, he already fell into trap.” The right way is China doesn’t want to be powerful because China despise empires and hegemony. China wants high class harmony not low class hegemony.
