I haven't noticed it much. That being said I haven't gotten a lot of wear out of it because if the summer.

Great jacket. Do you know if the actual sizing lines up with the chart on IH? From what I have heard this runs a little larger than IH's Denim type 3's?
Unfortunately I don't know. I wear a large or a 40 in suiting and got these in a 40 and it's fits fine. Little longer longer in the sleeves

One more question. I also went with a large. I am probably between a medium and large. I did the same as you to factor in layering, etc. curious how the size changes over time. I read that the size can become more form fitting over time as creases form, etc. Has that been your experience? I definitely don’t want the jacket to get any bigger.
I haven’t noticed a difference, maybe a little looser in the arms. I they do suiting sizing so you could go to a 38. I bought a 40

They aren't really sized at small medium large they are sized in numbers. I got a 40 I believe it's a medium/large
