Man. Watching this, and you reminding us of Ben's hunt the day before, still gives me the willies. I don't hunt bear, as I don't care for the meat. But I HAVE had a bear come within 5 ft of getting shafted when it started to climb into my deer stand. Scared the living CHIT out of me. All I could think about was the handcuffs while I tried to explain to the badges WHY I shot a bear with no tag. Call me a coward but, I also lost a bunch of expensive gear when a big brown forced me into a river so it could swipe my beached salmon. Bears aren't anything to 'f' with people. They AIN'T 'teddy cuddelies'. What they want, they GET.

You people want to play cowboy and Indian, it's a lot more merciful to use a gun, if you feel you'll starve by not hunting bear! It's even more merciful not to hunt bears to begin with; But I see the dying mentality that people want to feel connected to a past they never knew when hunting was the primary source of food and a man felt like a man, instead of the women our country are now raising instead of men.

Why are bows used over guns? It seems to take longer for the bear to die, wouldn't guns be quicker and cause the animal not to suffer? I'm just asking ?
For starters the Hushin guys are big promoters of bow hunting so I would assume that was a big part of their personal choice to hunt these bears with a bow. Aside from that as you can see from the video the bears are generally VERY close. Harvesting one with a gun at 10-20 yards does not seem very "sporting" to me. If you go back to their last video you can see first hand that guns are not always a one shot easy kill method of harvesting an animal.

+Cody Johnson Sounds just about right if your using a low caliber gun, that puts an animal through a lot of pain, but most guns used to kill bears are high powered. Bears are not exactly fragile kitty cats, keeping in mind many bears endure wounds from each other as a part of life, with no doctors to heal, or sew them up ,they either heal on their own, or suffer excruciating infections and die from their wounds. Once you see the other side of a bear, you'll never want to point any weapon at a bear, and in our day and age, it's really unnecessary, but there will be those who continue to make excuses to feed their love for killing; These are the types that WOULD join the military if the bears weren't shooting back.
Im 12 and i really want to go bear or coyote hunting but i don't know anyone who hunts and have no prior experience in hunting or trapping

Bear hunting is 100% legal and helps control the population.
Bear meat is also very good. It is illegal is virtually all areas to hunt black bear for trophies, the meat must be used.

Not in all cases... But most.
You care that this animal was not confined to a small cage, ate a natural diet, was not pumped full of antibiotics...
It's meat is much healthier for you and you are actually connecting to the animal, see it as a living thing rather then a product wrapped in plastic.
Being part of the cycle is being part of the brutality, the beauty, the celebration and giving respect.

People are so inhumane! What do you think happens when you leave cubs stranded without their mother to teach them the ways of the bear and how to survive on it's own? In all probability they have the certainty of death, as they become prey to the male bears, starvation and other animals!
So many other things to eat, why bear? Just ot prove your macho and can kill a bear from a distance, why don't you drop your weapons and fight a bear on equal ground, see how brave you are!
so many people think as such, that Bible prophesy says this and that, and it's up to mankind to fulfill God's prophesies because they assume that God can not, and then there are those whose task they believe it to keep the balance between humans and animals, where God has taken care of this automatically.
To me, this "keeping the balance" is just another excuse, similar to the one Hitler used, and the same excuse being used today, to bring about the coming World Government. Man just needs to live his life, and stop trying to control everything, because every time man tries to control something, death follows shortly thereafter!

wondering when the hush crew is gonna start hunting, and not using guides to do all the real work that is behind hunting, that constitutes hunting. its called "the hunt" not the "i paid alot of money to fill a tag and someone did everything for me". losing interest in hushin, eric is the only hope thats left really, dont let everyone down. start manning up and do a real hunt, over the counter, public land, not just elk, but all the other stuff also.tired of ranches, private land, guides, and bullshit that isnt hunting. thats my 2 cents.
Kerry Prulhiere You haven't watched much of our stuff obviously. Elk, deer, antelope meet all of your suggestions listed. We do them every year and have our entire lives. We are also open to trying new things in life. So yea, we've hunted some ranches too. The "guides" in this particular hunt transported us to the stands via boat. It's what the program is in Canada on this lake.
We've had fun doing all of the above but no question the general season DIY hunts with friend and family is what fuels our passion for the outdoors.
i see some elk videos on public land so far, eric seems to be the only one doing other hunts on public land, OTC, and putting in the real work behind hunting. as of lately tho, seems its a bought punched tag on all of your videos, i understand reaching out and trying new things like guided hunts, or private hunts, but dont take credit for other peoples hard work, ie. "your bear" ect. its pretty much the guides/outfitters bear as they made it happen for you and your team. you guys just shot it. money bought you that bear. not effort.and that isnt hunting by any means. there are many other hunters and fishermen/ women out there putting in the real time and effort and getting nothing, as is typical when doing it that way. you're making it seem as if hunting is just a thing you can go out and do and be successful dang near every time. i watch all of your videos, as i am subscribed to your channel. i liked where you guys were when hushin started, disliking it more and more with all the guided trips and private land hunts. show a real hunt where you started from the bottom, scouted the area, put in the time and effort to make the hunt happen, and earn mine and other like minded hunters respect again.
also, seems like its a whole lot of sponsor placement that fuels your passion for the outdoors. dont need to hear what exact name brand and model your bows are when you talk about them, or pack, or gps, or cooler, or stove, or products you're taking to get you through your hikes or "hunts". why cant it be just a pack? or referred to as "your bow" or "my bow" or the stove? why are we always hearing about you not being able to do any of your hunts without those specific products? i understand sponsors want you to talk about their stuff so you can get their names out there, and they can make money off of you, but have you heard of overkill?
