At first it was disappointed to see the phone is not as much tough as HTC 10, but will you scratch and bend your phone with such force and Sharp tools? At least it still function and no glasses has been broken. You may say the buttons came off easily by Jerry's razer blade, remember his razer blade is very sharp, even can cut you through your meat. Good to see you've already reached more than 2 million people 👍🏼 But not forget the people with a modest budget... Could you do the bend test on a Huawei p20 lite? Thanks God bless you all 😀
Well... if you have to say "at least" about a smartphone, it's clear that the phone is for a comformist person. We have too many other options. HTC is not offering a great product... plus, they removed the jack just like they are a top selling brand.
oh come on dude, dont be like that, you re not some billionaire so you are comformist in every aspect of your life, so dont be like that. I loved HTC phones and I will stay loyal to them, we will see how that will pan out
well i had two of their models and those phones were absolute tanks, they remind me of my old Nokia. As for other flaws you people find, I just dont see them that way, I take care of my stuff , I rarely break or tear something, not even clothes or shoes, every tech thing that i broke was due to me smashing it intensively .So this phone being not as tough as phones before it, it is fine, I will take care of it, no buttons might be a problem but as the dude in the video said, you aint gonna smash the phone on the ground or throw it ,so as long as you take care of it, they will work fine. Lack of 3.5mm jack is kinda bad,cuz if you break HTC issued headphones , you will have to buy exact same new ones but the thing is, my old HTC worked best and produced best sound with it;s original headphones and i like music very much and listen to it quite a lot, so buying pair of headphones in a year or two wont be a problem really. I honestly dont see anything else at fault here
About those buttons -- If they come off, wouldn't it be a very easy repair? (just stick a new button on) That could be way better than normal buttons as far as repairs are concerned.
Also, to be fair, a phone failing the bend test does not mean it won't be durable in real life usage. The m9 failed the bend test, but I have never had an issue with its durability (I drop phones a lot, even on concrete). One thing that's does matter is the circuit design. No matter now strong a phone is, it WILL flex, the circuits have to be designed to withstand that flexing, otherwise the phone will have components fail without any perceivable on its exterior. All my family members use iPhones, and I've seen the iPhone 6 plus and iPhone 7 (also quite tanky phones, at least on the outside) fail due to flex based damage, and my family members are usually very careful with their phones. But that's just from my personal experience.
How much pressure are you applying to the phones when conducting the bend test?? While I do love your vids that has always been my curiosity as your hands shake while doing it.
Barnay the butterfly series are also tanks. For me at least. Too bad they stopped making those. The butterfly s I owned had high-quality platic back panel with the option for a slew of stylish colours, stereo front speakers, all glass front with curved edges, ridiculously good battery life, and comically tough build. My dad threw it once, quite hard too, and it came out nearly unscathed ( a few scratches on the back, and a tiny one in the corner of the sceen. The phone fell out of my pocket when I was riding on a moped, it hit the concrete. That finally cracked the screen. I never got to get it repaired. (it's still functional)
This video is clearly just for NEGATIVE points, and its clear you got no ideea about HTC phones. A video like this should be 50% good things and 50% bad things but the bad things should be those that will happen in real life. Please try to drop that phone as many times as you want and i am 100% that the buttons will never come of. So my rating for your review is 3 of a maximum of 10 points... GAME OVER!
He treats all phones the same. He did not do anything to the HTC that he hasn't done to any other brand. Phones that cost less, phones that cost over $1,000. The iPad pro he tested, crumpled, became instant junk. His tests are valid.
So many are talking poorly about HTC but do not even know that they've built all the Pixel Phones except for the Pixel 2XL which had display problems. Pixel Phones are basicly HTC Phones with a different name. HTC is an incredibly good brand and the mother of Android smartphones.
I'm really not a fan of those weird capacitive buttons. My friend just ditched his LG G6 to go back to Apple and got an iPhone 8+ and I hate the home button on it. I still love my G6.

I honestly dont see anything else at fault here
This guy makes some of the best youtube videos out there. Continue doing what you do!
About those buttons -- If they come off, wouldn't it be a very easy repair? (just stick a new button on)
That could be way better than normal buttons as far as repairs are concerned.
Definitely check out the MI 8 Explore edition.
Please do a test with the xperia xz2 compact!
So you cut the buttons off, then say "they can fall off" 😂 get real
Lol get some sense
He literally said he douts it will happen
And wont happen in normal use
It's the same point in the S9 Note video. Work at them and they will come out, though it's unlikely it'll happen one day you're changing the volume.
Really he just peeled them off from the phone, you could do the same thing (most likely) absentmindedly pulling on the buttons some day.
Who else watches his videos to fall asleep? Not boring by any means, quite the opposite actually, but his voice puts me right to sleep.
Zack:THE SIDES ARE METAL
OUR EARS:OH GOD PLEASE NO GOD NO
😅😅😅😅😅😅Update the browser for 1080p or higher!!😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Why the video quality is not going to above 360p??
priyanshu VAISH I can't really tell, my shitty phone's display is 360p. 😂😫
Gaurav G. Which phone did you use in 2018??? 360p 😂
Your phone does not support more than this
Shadow Harod to whom you were telling?

Looks like a 2k15 video 360p 😂
I can confirm it's at least 1440p 60fps. Any Sony Xperia XZ premium users who can get it on 2160p?
360p squad.
love you videos always jerry ! i have a suggestion do you think you can add some water testing ? it's going to be very useful.
How much pressure are you applying to the phones when conducting the bend test?? While I do love your vids that has always been my curiosity as your hands shake while doing it.
max 360p?????
Pradyumna Kulkarni I can't really tell, my shitty phone's display is 360p. 😂😫
Gaurav G. Never Demean your phone..... It was new and advanced when it got released......
Pradyumna Kulkarni it because u watched the video when it got released. (I mean within 5 min)
Pradyumna Kulkarni I can watch it at 1080p60
HTC phones are not for durability I guess
No, except for the HTC 10, I guess. That one has been an absolute tank for me.
Tom Hsia And M7
Older HTC phones were tanks, like the M7
360p
the best dissection of the phone as always sir Jerry
This was the most awaited video..

Hey buddy
JITHU J hey buddy how are you
You're first!
*jaja*
The sound of a razor blade meeting metal is just music to my ears
I love how he literally disassembled the whole phone without any effort!lol
Hello fraands ! Chai pee loo .
Bas Kya rulayega pagle??
His tests are valid.
dude chill it is a video trying to find durability flaws thats what this channel does
JerryRigEverything is the most durable RUclips channel ever 💪
So many are talking poorly about HTC but do not even know that they've built all the Pixel Phones except for the Pixel 2XL which had display problems. Pixel Phones are basicly HTC Phones with a different name.
HTC is an incredibly good brand and the mother of Android smartphones.
The Segway to the sponsor was priceless
I'm really not a fan of those weird capacitive buttons. My friend just ditched his LG G6 to go back to Apple and got an iPhone 8+ and I hate the home button on it. I still love my G6.
The Martian book on Audible was AWESOME
I could listen to your voice all day🙂
Dude I don't mind seeing you testing scraping the metal. Can you try to lower the volume when editing the video it dos bother the ears. Thank you and keep up the good work brother.
And now the ip68, is an ipNOTHING.
Hahahaha!
Love your videos. On point.
Aloha and mahalo for the video!!! I just ordered one and I'm looking forward in doing my own stress test. I hope though it will be long term testing and not as aggressive and over the top as your video. Ha!!! All the best.
I have been on HTC Phones forever. I'm going to update my second 10 to an 11. Wait for the next iteration after 12.
