I have a lot of bad habits that I am struggling to break. Constantly putting myself down and letting my dark thoughts manifest into my life. I smoke too much weed and nicotine to escape my thoughts because being sober leaves me alone with my thoughts and it’s a vicious cycle. I fully recognize i’m addicted at this point, I know I need therapy and yet I don’t do it. For some reason i’m not helping myself and it’s putting me deeper and deeper into isolation. This song and Linkin Park have helped so much I’m glad you reviewed the song!

  • @LadyTidePod

The habit I finally broke was going on Facebook all the time and being exposed to toxic people. People can be so mean on there and it was really bad for my mental health. I was addicted to Facebook. I have been off it for more than a month now which is a huge deal for me. My New Year's resolution was to stay off it forever. So far it is going well. Facebook addiction is similar to drugs. It stimulates the same part of the brain. Staying off it wasn't easy in the beginning but now I don't even really think about it anymore and am much happier.

2:16 the thing is, this song is not about addiction as much as people want it to be. “Breaking the habit” is a euphemism for suicide. It’s more along the lines of breaking the whole cycle. Tragic when you realize it after Chester committed suicide, even more so when you understood from the start.

I was in junior high when I first saw this music video when it first came out. At the time, the music video really struck me as interesting and cool because of its anime style. As I got into my late 20’s and battling alcohol addiction, this song really hit different. I understood what was being said in this song. Shits a struggle. If you’re reading this, you can beat it. Believe me, you can break the habit. Be strong

Im breaking my weed habit. it's not the typical story. I struggle with insomnia and I didn't realize that part of the problem was that I would always smoke weed before bed. I got so used to it calming me down and shutting down my brain to help me sleep that I could no longer sleep without it. It BECAME the cause of my insomnia. Day 5.

  • @amandah9644
    @amandah9644 Год назад +2

I know when you react to these videos and some of these songs you probably don't know the trauma that's behind some of these lead singers. The lead singer of Lincoln Park struggled with depression his whole life and multiple suicide attempts until he finally killed himself.
This song is supposed to depict him trying to break the habit of depression even though depression isn't a habit but back then it wasn't taking this seriously as it is now. I think he left behind two or three kids.
And another video I watched you reacted to Korn. Lead singer and was molested as a child.
When you start to understand the back story of these singers you start to understand the immense impact that they hold and what it means for people who have gone through similar things.
Growing up Linkin Park was one of my favorite bands and I never understood why until I realized why the lyrics made so much more sense to me than they made to other people.

I'm convinced that they wrote this song after watching a fuck ton of anime cause the animation style looks like it.
Also I broke 2 habits that were relatively easy.
    1) Sucking my thumb I did til I was 6 and then I started putting hot sauce on it to stop myself and it worked
    2) Chewing my nails, I started clipping em down to the point the wasn't any overhang and I stopped now my nails are a normal length and I'm good

The idea to make the music video animated was an idea from a member of the band who was really big into anime. It was animated by Studio Gonzo, the same studio behind anime like afro samurai, full metal panic, Hellsing, and Basilisk. The person who lead the animation for the music video was the same guy who did the animation direction for anime like Samurai Champloo, B the beginning, and also did character design for Asura's Wrath.

Breaking a smoking habit when all of ky friends and co workers smoked was impossible. I explained to them i wanted to quit befause i was fed up with the nicotine headache when i couldnt and when i didnt have money for it and amazingly they were accepting of it and just didnt take break with me at the time i went.
In reference to the song, the lyrics are actually talking about someone who has fought addiction issues and is tired of it so they take their own life. "Clutching my cure, i tightly lock the door and try to catch my breathe again" ia the process of finally scoring your drugs of choice and carching your breathe because you can now calm down and feel better.

My habit was heavy drug use, suicidal thought and generally being self destructive, aggressive and depressed. I couldn't sleep nor did I enjoy anything when I was awake. I was like 120 pounds at my worst. I've tried to kill myself atleast 3 times and out of those three I succeded once, well my heart stopped for a minute and I was zapped back to life. The habit was broken when I became a father to the most beautiful little girl, Sofia almost eight years ago. I didn't want to leave her feeling like me. To be all alone and hurting. My best decision ever but in hinsight I wasen't ready to have kids at all and I would not suggest anyone having kids if you're living like I did. But, if I didn't have her I wouldn't be here. It's as simple as that. She is the reason I'm here and eventually became content with life. People like me don't usually get a second chance, so I'm just glad to be here.

But quitting smoking will be my big challenge due to the way I use my brain to work solving issues . The thing is I think I need to smoke to find a solution to a problem even tho I know I can do it without it feels like a shortcut to me and I just don't dare quit just to solve problems while this remains my problem. :D It's weird and I prob will grind this till I can.

I quit smoking back in 2017. It nearly killed me to do it but it would've killed me if I hadn't.

It’s hard to quit porn/mastirbation , and thc consumption got to me through vaping, breaking those habits that I’ve done for quite some time is frigginnnnnn HARD! This song means a lot to me and so therefore Chester Lenning! ❤

Alcohol man. I’m 26 and drink about a 25 beers a night accompanied by a pack of cigarettes every single night in order to feel like my normal self because it’s been that way since I was 15 and the habit of it has become stronger and stronger. I broke it for about a year for the love of my life. But she cheated on me so it was right back to square one. Waking up every day feeling like poison is in your blood. Lungs don’t work the same. But somehow doing all those things again that make you feel that way in the morning again at the end of the day just cancels it all out. You know you’re gonna die living like that. But you don’t care. Or you care but you don’t take it seriously

I'm looking at a lot of comments. Like this song isn't about bettering yourself. It's a song about suicidal thoughts. How was that not picked up on?
