    21:15 "It was kinda like watching a car crash happen, and you just can't take your eyes off it. It's like really bad, but you just keep looking and watching and wanting to read more.
    The characters are awful. All of them are unforgiveable in my opinion. There's no condoning the behaviors........but it was so entertaining and gripping and I LOVE it. The journey was amazing."
    I died laughing lolol. So real.

    Omg I loved The Summer You Were There and cried so hard too, especially knowing how the series would end because of all the foreshadowing. I had to read a fluffy gl series (Can’t Say no to The Lonely Girl) after cuz I cannot handle another heartbreak lol.
    I’m honestly surprised this series isn’t as popular as it should be. Definitely my favourite yuri manga, 10/10 recommend. The Moon on a Rainy Night is also one of my current favourites rn, can’t wait to read more.

    I didn’t like Sakura-hime and Kamisama Kiss that much either. Sakura-hime is my second least favorite Arina Tanemura work (the plot always felt kinda rushed to me, with way too many characters and too many irons in the fire….just too much in general), and Kamisama Kiss to me was just…meh (I sold the series shortly after finishing it). 😐
    **MY ANSWERS**
    1) The Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts. I was “late to the party” with this one, starting to collect it when the final volume came out….but boy, I’m so glad I did. The manga is gorgeous. 🩷
    2) I don’t recall reading any manga volumes that struck a chord with me.
    3-4) Under the Oak Tree manhwa. I’ve been waiting for an official release of the webcomic, and I can’t believe it’s finally happening. 🤩🩷🩷
    5) Sakura, Saku by Io Sakisaka. The first volumes were interesting, but the more it went on the more it felt like something you’ve seen so many times it’s stale.
    6) Kaiju no. 8. I found volume 1 by chance in a bookstore after seeing the anime series’ trailer (which looked very good), so I decided to give it a try….best decision ever. 💕
    7) My favorite new mangaka has to be Yu Tomofuji….and Miyuki Mitsubachi too (I loved Cheeky Brat!).
    8-9-10) None at the moment.
    11) Crimson Spell by Ayano Yamane. This is actually an old series, but I’ve waited decades for someone to make a new complete edition and finally it’s here. 🩷
    12) Acid Town. The volumes are just….🩷🩷🩷
    13) Between series I already have and that I wanna buy, a lot: Yona of the Dawn, Nina the Starry Bride, My Boyfriend in Orange, Megumi & Tsugumi, Ancient Magus’ Bride, Snowwhite with the red hair, Breathless Momentum….and these are just the ones I rembember right now.
    14) I don’t really follow manga tubers. ☺️

    Well, since you asked.....
    My favorite read so far would have to go to A Story of Seven Lives. It's a Slice of Life, Josei cat manga, which is definitely not something I would usually enjoy, but it made me go through all the feelz. First time I teared up over a manga but it was well worth it.
    Biggest disappointment would have to be Genkaku Picasso not because it was the worst thing I read (that honor goes to Prophecy and I recommend no one pick it up lol, a waste of money) but one I definitely expected to really get into and have fun with. The stories told were just too stupidly over the top ridiculous that it kept breaking the immersion for me.

    I completely agree with kamisama kiss. I think alot of those who loves kamisama stems from nostalgia. Since im the type to only collect manga if i love the anime, i tried to give it a go and i didn’t love it. But i still finished it and gave it a chance. I couldn’t get into the characters, didnt care about the relationship much. So i was bumped about it since it’s widely loved by the shoujo community.
    But I respect those who do though, we all have an anime or series that we love that’s widely influenced by nostalgia. I have my own guilty pleasures(*cough vampire knight maid sama gundam seed) that I absolutely love but may not sit well to people who start reading it in these times. 😅

    • @lyddiemoon
      @lyddiemoon  3 месяца назад

      Yeah totally I’m so happy that so many people love the story and enjoy it, there is such a power honestly to nostalgia it’s amazing 🥰 there are a few series I also find wouldn’t be likable nowadays but it’s definitely nostalgia led 😅😅😂

    How do you all keep up with the consistiency of reading manga? I feel like I'm in and out with reading as a lot of the time I feel like I kind of burn out and I have periods where I'll read 20 volumes in 7 days and then nothing for the next 3 months because I'm not interested anymore and then I'll find and buy a new manga and the cycle begins. Do you have any tips? (20 volumes in 7 days is like 3 volumes for one day so not that much...)

    • @lyddiemoon
      @lyddiemoon  3 месяца назад +3

      Honestly, I try not to stress about it too much because then it takes all the fun out of actually reading. If I feel like reading I’ll read, if I don’t, then I won’t and won’t try to feel bad about it! I think if you overthink reading it really makes it not fun, just knowing I have so many stories to discover makes me excited in general
