    I think it's wonderful that so many professional chefs come here to comment on these videos and tell us all how they knew all this already. It was probably covered very early on when they got their culinary degrees from the University of the Food Channel. I'm impressed by them, aren't you?

    I think these tips on how to do basic prep for various ingredients is a FANTASTIC idea!
    This wasn't new to me right now, but it WOULD have been new and REVOLUTIONARY to the Me from 5 years ago!
    Can't wait for more, even if I already know it it will be helpful to many other people who don't.

    I used this method today and loved it. The only thing I did differently was to cut the pepper in half after the pith was removed and stacked it so I could cut 2 planks at a time. Handy method. Thanks!

    Great way to cut a pepper. Think I originally saw this back on a Graham Kerr program. Have used since.
    Also was good general advice on cutting vegs with tough or waxy/slippery skins - cut from inside going through the softer flesh first. Reduces knife slip ups. Thx!!

    Thank you for your informative video. Will you make a video showing how to make a cookie similar to Trader Joe's Belgium Butter Waffle Cookie. Many cooking shows present cookie recipes, but relatively few show how to make thin, crisp cookies, focusing instead on soft baked. I really like crisp cookies. Love your program. Thank you.

    I much prefer the Chef Ramsay method of cutting off the top, standing it on the top and cutting down the sides. Much quicker bc it saves the step of removing the white as a separate step and there's less waste

    I would find it fascinating to watch how someone would otherwise slice a pepper.

    • @silvermediastudio
      @silvermediastudio 6 лет назад

      Slice down straight from the top, follow the curve. Leaves just the cage and no loose seeds, removes the ribs in the same cut. So much more efficient.

    Elle,
    Nice clear presentation. Logical and easy.
    As a life long self taught cook I was hoping for more.
    Are there plans for tips for us cooks that have a few years of experience under our belts? What about a format that shows easy, medium and experienced levels? Something for everyone.
    Since the changes at ATK I've been very generous with my compliments. I like the new energy and openness in your programming. Don't slow down now! There is still much to be taught and learned.

    Better to stand it upright and cut the sides from the start, it eliminates the last step and has all the waste in one piece.

      Or do the roll & "fillet" style. Either way, the ribs are removed and the cage is left, with no loose seeds to clean up. I think the video displays the worst method possible.
