I was in a short race that happened on the beginning section of the Iditabike in Alaska and a guy named Mike and I were in the lead, and we missed the turnaround and just kept going. An hour later we realized what went wrong and turned around. They were just about to send out search planes when we arrived back to Big Lake. Fortunately, if things had gone sideways and we got stuck out there, there were cabins we could have broken into to save ourselves. Winter racing in Alaska can be, ...interesting.
