The Chrysler Gen. 2 426 HEMI II Is The "KING Of The Internal Cumbustion Engines " Both Foreign and Domestic, Period! I wish I had one for my 1972 Plymouth Roadrunner!
"God bless America ... *I love my job."*
The most beautiful thing I've seen since my wedding day.
The Hemi is a beautifully complicated work of art
wonderful video, just found the channel this evening. Grew up as a young kid with blowers hanging in the garage and pop chatting with many a well known driver out front. Moma was a flag girl, still have the black and white pics. In my late 50s now and this is what I grew up with-thank you for the memories. If I ever win the lottery I have plans for prestige... lol. Pop is still around and heading back East to say hi next month... in his vette cause at 70+ years he still can't shake the speed. Hell, about 1-2 decades ago he blew the motor in his 76 Indy pace car racing it lol. crazy ole man.
Hemis are rare in Aus, and i like to see as much about them as i can, so i thank you, you guys dont skip through it but explain EVERYTHING... THANKS AGAIN Eddie C4 Australia.
Thanks a lot! And thanks for watching

Burst plate just to let everyone know you like to party 🥳
Y'all are completely outta control! I love every second of y'alls builds! Keep on keepin' on! Good gas mileage? Pfft....where we're going we don't need good gas mileage.
Motors like this shouldn't be burning gas anyways.
Thats a Monster. I have a 700 hp 528 hemi and its a handful, cant imagine 1000 hp and 950 ft/lbs of torque. Great episode
this is what i had in mind as a 16-25 year old in my charger ( wife wasn't impressed 🤠 but i was in 906 or D-8 hemi and mom 🤬 hated it 😁) but after learning something's im doing my 4.3x4.5" D-8 hemi 12:1+ static compression different now in 2016-up ish one of the changes is turbocharged instead and a 7-speed for low overdrive .42&3.2 FG and better gas mileage as it's a big pig 🐷to feed dailying
I think seeing around the blower is going to be the first issue, trying to avoid hitting what you can't see will be next on the list of problems titled " What could possibly go wrong"?
@@jimbetts5164 lol 😂,um i suppose some people get use to it i didn't after 90 days or so and now going for more of a normal bonnet line or making harder to place the fender's/apexline aka from stock SE charger under 4"in and not blocking line of sight ( something i feel the stock setup is really good at as it basically has a 3 point gun sight 1-point ie is the pointy side by the bumper the next is the middle of the round hood bulge ect, the back does have a bad blind spot that after 10+years i haven't gotten used to yet but i think some cameras will fix that as we are in 2022 😉 ) for a 40-50 inch tall torso / 5,9-6,6 guy
and Imagine getting your ass blown off the road by a Tesla.
Very Nice Job By Prestige! Great Video! Love the content! Conservative cam profile, squeeze and short redline makes this RB an easy runner and mild maintenance. Callys is making very good blocks!
Just a Beautiful Instrument of Violence. What a joy it must be assembling this monster and hearing it come to life like a Kraken. Just awesome power.
Another GREAT video from Jeff at Horsepower Monster! Love it!
Whenever someone asks me why I like muscle I will show them this video.
Awesome engine. awesome looking setup!
Just What dreams are made of.What a tyre smoking beast, and pure work of art!! Nice job.
Hey Horsepower. That is a monster for sure. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍
This channel has sexiest motor builds and the video documentary is top notch.
Thanks a lot!
Now that's a valve train. What an absolute monster..
Now that's my idea of a tough Hemi!
Massive 10-71 gave me a chuckle.
Loved the video, very exciting feeling busting that beast off for the first time! Thanks!
Love it bud!! That hemi is awesome!! I wear my hemi T-shirt with pride!
A lot of tech gone into this build! Gonna watch it again to absorb it better!!
Thanks again bud for another great video!!
what a beast love that sound ..
What an engine. Old school! I’m doing something similar for my 32 Coupe. Great video.
AWESOME!!!! How about putting that in something a little sleeker like a 71-2 Barracuda. That blower would look sexy as hell sticking through that hood. Now that's what I'm talking about!!!!
I would put it into one of the newer blacked out dodge challengers in my opinion
or better yet a 68 Cornett Super B
DAYUM, THAT'S SOME SERIOUS HARDWARE, AWESOME WORK !!
That would be nice in the 67 D100
Those heads are insane.
What a masterpiece. Gorgeous engine everything is so fine and shiny. It’s like home utensils. Impressive
"The cam is big" heck ya it is oh my goodness
I have close to the same cam in my 440 with an 8-71 Victor heads.
Tearing off a strip of double sided tape and sticking it across the intake where you’re going to drill and tap, and a couple strips below where the tapped hole will be will catch all the shavings from drilling and tapping and make clean up much easier.
That's art!!! Thank you
What a cool 9.4 liter Mopar madman!
M.O.P.A.R
Beautiful build. Learned a lot
Love the Engine builds video's, with the big jump in gas prices would love to see a street engine build based on 87 octane just to see what kind of power it would make on that low an octane.
You can easily run 87 on that with a proper tune. E85 would be better.
Complaining about gas prices? Come to Germany. 2.73$/Liter. Which equals to 10.33$/Gallon.
How much is the gas price in your area?
@@mojo3008 actually he should set it up to run on natural gas , it would be gall/mile but 3000 hp would be possible with 14.5:1 pistons.
@@jimbetts5164 natural gas is easily available too
@@mojo3008 e85 🖒🖒🖒 Octane 102 to 105
29:06 vp c16 - 117 Octane
Methane (natural gas (?)) 120 Octane
That thing is a BEAST!!!
Great video. Your knowledge is highly appreciated!
Thanks!
Impressive. Very cool build.
Talk about an absolute BEAST !! WOW !! .. Awesome vid. 👌
Thanks a lot!
Love this channel, and all it gives, never stop!!!!!!
Thank you very much!
15:33 Removing a torn head gasket on the oil pan rail is always a PITA. 😇
Yes! And its even worse when you keep thinking that you wouldn't be having to do it if you had just held on to that nut tighter! Thanks for watching
@@TheHorsepowerMonster I'm not sure you caught that. You said "head gasket on the oil pan." LOL
Now THAT'S a custom build.
@@jhutch1470 Ouch! No, as many times as I went over the video editing it, I never caught that. I didn't even catch it in your comment, which I see now. Oh well, if I can limit myself to one boneheaded thing a day I'm doing pretty good!
@@TheHorsepowerMonster LOL. You are just hyper focused to do your best. We just laughed and knew what you meant. I love your stuff and catch every video I can.
Now all we need is a dyno test where you fill the air to water intercooler with blinker fluid and see what happens.
WOW that's impressive and very beautiful to look at good job guys 🤩
Very cool! Well explained engine build. Thanks for all the effort by all.
It's builds like this that makes me wish I could go back in time an do a redo to my career and financial choices where an engine like this is unicorn tears to me. Any real gear head will get starry eyed at this hemi... Even most ricers can appreciate this. If it was mine the hardest part would be keeping it at a tame tune... The temptation to put a party pulley and see what that big BDS Huffer has to offer would be soooo hard to fight off... I'd tell em save me from myself and use red lock tight on the pulley bolts and once there tight fill the allen head in with JB weld! The only thing that makes me go I don't like that is that oil filter location. I'd think a remote adapter would be a good idea, where it's at it seems a snapped belt could take that filter right off thus every drop of oil in that monster blasting out the front at 80psi all over everything including not just the back but the front tires also, plus a high fire potential..... Pretty much worst case scenario.... But once again another epic dream HP Monster build. I've always dreamed of building a nascar spec SB2 street n strip engine, what would be cooler than insane 850 N/A HP 9000 rpm shifts in a car or truck but I wouldn't be against a 1500+hp Procharged SB2 either. LS who?

That was awesome!!
Most don't appreciate how huge that monster is.
A sound so good you can be assured when you hear it, whatever it's powering is doing something illegal
Ha!
@@TheHorsepowerMonster he
Absolutely awesome content brother, patiently waiting on the next video
Thanks! I've really got to get better at getting videos out more quickly. These things take me forever!
That hemi is awesome 👌
Amazing & Thanks again you made my day Team THM .
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
The engine stand hanging on for Life. Badass
Almost an Aussie tire roaster engine! That’s going to be a handful in a “Street Car”.
I can tell you with my 440 at 1/3 throttle as soon as it hits any boost the tires smoke easy.
Awesome build
This is a perfect example of no replacement for displacement. Awesome.
Not true, where have you been ? lol
What about twin turbos!
Yeah I was expecting an easy 1200 out of that build
This engine has a supercharger. So it's not a good exemple.
It's a blown engine so not a very good example
Man that thing sound so sweet I want one awesome build guys
what a great video is this. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you so much!
Great build and HP got to love a HEMI.
thanks Cody
Damn... That Hemi is badass ! I'm not a Mopar man but that engine would be great with my 87 Z28 !!!
I use that copper gasket spray too. I didn’t even realize there was such a thing until I built a little EJ25 suby engine and I was doing some research on getting a longer life out of the suby’s head gaskets. I put head studs in it too, we’ll see if I get more then 95k out of it now.
But without oil leaking how do I know my Suby engine is running correctly?
@@dragoonTT Easy - a solid amount of lifter noise, the random misfire, and probably a boost leak.
Those plenums do nothing for Blown engines

My 85 olds has a 350 small block chevy V8 and my power steering is not working i definitely appreciate powersteering 😂 that big ole hemi is a dam monster 😮😮😮
Wonderful build!! How can some people not like All engines!!!
Dom Toretto will love this!
Great build guys! Thanks for putting this together!
At 18:00 in you say the external oil pump is just another path for an oil leak...In nearly 50 years of playing with big block MoPar's I have never seen a single oil leak from a BBM oil pump. JFYI
Agreed, been building and racing RB and Hemis and I cannot recall EVER seeing one leak from the external oil pump.
HOLY shit 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I need one
Keep it up man
Love the hemi. Changed motorsports.
Every top fuel record in the world was set by a hemi.
Thanks!
That's something Dominic Toretto would run in a 68/69 charger. I'm not 1 brand loyal, i love big block mopars, big block chevy's, small block chevy's and 351w fords.
429BOSS
Love to hear the blowers on anything
Great video thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
I guess everyone thinks that they are Dom Torretto 🙄🙄🙄🙄! It’s a nice engine, but that rotating assembly stuff isn’t what should be used on a big blower engine! Guess how I know? Hopefully he’ll probably be running it with the regular pulleys! Because 800+ ftlbs of torque that low just makes a tire shredder! 1.77 hp per cubic inch isn’t anything to write home about on a big inch Hemi! What ever happened to that twin torquestorm supercharged BBC that they had sitting in there engine room? I’m sure those are more efficient than that big hot 🥵 air beater on top of the Hemi! Nice video, I’m sure it will get lots of hits! I honestly love to see what Keith Dorton is doing! He knows how to make power with just about anything! He also knows efficiency! I loved that video when he made 1000hp with 250ish cubic inches, w only 10psi! 4 hp per cube, while not even trying is doing something! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yeah, but...look at it
That's what you WANT, is small blocks putting out monster horsepower
1.5-1.8hp per cubic inch with boost pretty safe in my eyes.
I like It , some old world and new world
"the baby puke green line" 🤣💀
Excellent presentation 👏🏼 i want one .
Very, very cool👌🏻
MURICA DAMMIT! That Blower is Bigger than the Engine in My Wife's Equinox!!!!
Love it!
What a beast.
I want one of these
Awesome thanks
Really enjoyed the assembly, bet you did too!
Cheers 🍻
Really wish I can one day be building engines like this one
No a Mopar guy but you gotta love a blown hemi
Great build. Really like seeing the build from start to completion. Show us a pic of the car once the engine is installed. I bet it looks great, thanks
That's right,Blower Drive Service,Orange California!
Great video you explain the process where a novice can some what understand.
Thanks!
@@TheHorsepowerMonster your most welcome Sir!
Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful. Would love to see that monster sticking out of the hood of a '41 Willys. But that Roadrunner ain't no slouch neither.

Hell yeah
Cool. Thx
Yesss!
I want one
The tool being used to torque the underside studs is not not a crowfoot, it's called a torque adapter.
It needs a secondary idler on the back side of the belt (driver side) to help clean the feed onto the blower pulley. We found out why the belts fail prematurely
just what the doctor ordered to boost today's man's testosterone levels.
luv the progressive butterflies, never had the opportunity to use them
