The contract buyout would be astronomical and with all the facility repairs and money needed for NIL, they literally can't afford it. I'm sure they negotiated this with him on some level of his performance last season. But I don't for a second believe it's a punishment because he has all the leverage. This has to be about trying to bring in players and personnel.

They also flirted with some legal battle over leaving the acc which they no longer want to do but probably more of a cost thing then anything else. They literally can’t afford to fire him. So he has all the leverage in any battle they would have over his contract.
