Look, Norvell has them by the balls not the other way around. He knows his job is safe right now. For at least a couple more years. The contract buyout would be astronomical and with all the facility repairs and money needed for NIL, they literally can't afford it. I'm sure they negotiated this with him on some level of his performance last season. But I don't for a second believe it's a punishment because he has all the leverage. This has to be about trying to bring in players and personnel.

      What is this take 😂
THEY have Norvell by the balls. He just went 2-10 with one of the biggest brands in college football. That’s pathetic. Norvell knows that if he can’t somehow turn this around it will be his last HC position at a Power 4 school.

@ how do you not understand how he has all the leverage here. If they fire him they owe him 60 million dollar buyout. This as they are spending money on new facilities and stadium renovations. They also flirted with some legal battle over leaving the acc which they no longer want to do but probably more of a cost thing then anything else. They literally can’t afford to fire him. So he has all the leverage in any battle they would have over his contract.

@@bwalsh1105 yeah of course they can’t fire him this year. He will be canned next year and then he has failed at the pinnacle of his job, which is what any person would hate to do.
Sure they can’t fire him this year, but they literally just made him pay up half his salary. How can you look at that and say “Norvell has them by the balls?”

Y'all don't do any type of journalism. His job was fine they can't fire him. He decided this on his own and chose to give half his salary. Nobody made him. Shows his commitment to the school. Don't worry we will be back. Go Noles!

Totally agree, he can walk and the school would have to buy him out, the program needs a complete turnaround.

He shouldn’t have gotten such a major deal he did which would have resulted in what he deserves which is to be fired. Sorry but what was it? 2 wins? Yeah that should get you fired at the D1 level period.
