When I use food coloring in the Resin Create i add the food coloring to the water weight then add it to the powder it keeps the coloring from raising to the top.
You should test the new “Purely Pigments” line from Colour Arte. I’ve been using them and they are amazing. You can use them in resincrete, Jesmonite, resin, acrylic pours, etc.
Love your channel. This is a bit um out there, but I keep pet rats and made a coaster from their poops in epoxy. Turned out great! I had a broken zipper on my boot so I resined a new one to the broken part in uv. Take me nowhere!
I absolutely love the way the food coloring worked! The colors seemed much more vivid. And food coloring is definitely much cheaper when your on a tight budget 😅
Wow! This was so helpful! I recently closed down my handmade resin shop due to the resin wreaking havoc on my health (we were pouring 5+ gallons of resin a week to keep up with demand). But it was a big part of my income, so I've been looking for a substitute and started using resin crete but could not for the life of me get it colored the way I wanted! Those food colors are perfect! I do notice some of the pigments darken as the cure out of the mold, which is exactly what I wanted. Thanks again!!
A potential issue is that most food coloring is highly fugitive; meaning that it will fade rather quickly. Some food coloring may be somewhat permanent, depending upon what it’s made from. I know that onion skins and birch bark yield good colors. The stuff you get from the grocery store tends to not work well at all. I used some a few years ago as an experiment to do a painting. After 2 months it had faded 30% and after a couple of years, you could barely see it at all.
I've known about the cardboard (or paper) underneath, but I never remember to have it there, until I'm supposed to tap the mold, and I can't lift it anymore 😂. I like the pastel-y colours of these.
Have you done a mica power video with the resincrete ? i love your work you have taught me so much!! I recommend you to everybody i can!! From West coast of Canada here! Hello!
Acrylic inks work so well in water bated casting powders don't they. Nice one Steve. If you want vivid colours, Have you tried the Create & Bloom colours? I've got bright red, jet black... and also pastels. Really cool and they do work in ResinCrete as well as Eco Pour :) Shame you can't use a powered mixer with ResinCrete, I know some people like those though I'm with you on not liking them so much. Good to see you had similar finding to me last year about colouring these casting powders. Update - food colouring does seem colourfast - me,bers messaged to ask me if it faded - a year on still not faded so that's good info you gave here too
I have been thinking of using resincrete as apposed to normal resin as we have a little kitty cat that likes to “help” me in my craft room and I don’t want to make her sick from the resin fumes
I just got to thinking. What about pouring a very little color, then change color pour a different color over it etc. I think I’m going to try that just for fun. I was thinking a 3d effect as end result.

If I'm not making messes, I'm not crafting. It's just part of my artistic expression 😂
Steve, just a tip... if you decide to seal the resincrete with uv resin after it is completely dry, it darkens up even more .❤❤
I don’t often subscribe to channels but this was so useful and concise.
Thank you for not taking 30 minutes to say what could be said in 10!😂

Where do you buy them from please
Thanks Steve. I use Resincrete a lot so I really appreciate it.

Just be careful they don't chew on it. It's toxic to them
The cardboard helps with a ‘wobbly bobberly’. Another great video Steve 🥰
Oooh, that pen ink is GORGEOUS! Ooh, the food coloring is brilliant! Who'da thunk! Thanks, Steve! 💕😊
I absolutely love the way the food coloring worked! The colors seemed much more vivid. And food coloring is definitely much cheaper when your on a tight budget 😅

Thanks for the tips. I have so many food colors to try, now. 😍
They all look really great! I love how smooth resin Crete turns out. Thanks for the tip about the curing machine!
Great tip on using food coloring!
I’ve recently discovered your channel and I’ve been watching ever since. Thank you for all your wonderful information and great personality.

Woohoo I've just joined your members ❤ looking forward to extra tips! I need em 😁
Love your videos....I'm learning so much.I have just ordered some resincrete. Thanks Steve.
Awesome experiment this technique could have many uses in embellishing fluid art
Thank you Steve. I've just started using resincrete but I'm finding it really brittle. I'm doing 100-30 any ideas please?
Thank you Steve.
Thank you for this video. Tried ResinCrete once and it didn’t work well. Now I know what I did wrong. 😊❤
I have a gorgeous dark purple ink...i bet it will look great in this
I’ve been experimenting too. Overall it’s a toss up between acrylic ink and acrylic paint. Thanks for your tests.
Again great video and tips
Love the experiments, maybe a colouring paste rather than the liquid. They are very pigmented.

Does the food coloring come off on your hands after curing? Thank you again for your content it’s amazing

I wonder how long the colour lasts. Does it fade with time and is there a difference in fading depending on what you use.

I’ve not tried Resincrete yet, but you’ve piqued my interest ❤
I wonder about ysing easter egg dyes
Hi Steve great video just got the food colours can I use food colouring in resin ? 😊
Once are they is this stuff waterproof when set?
I just got to thinking. What about pouring a very little color, then change color pour a different color over it etc. I think I’m going to try that just for fun. I was thinking a 3d effect as end result.
I got this mix to make candle molds do u think it's good for that. Please answer lol
Does resincrete dry hard like normal resin.
Steve, If I use resinCrete to make a coster and paint something on it. Can you use resin or UV Resin to protect the painting?
Have you ever used scrapbook paper or such with resincrete?
Have you tried their valentine kit yet
Can you use food coloring in regular resin
That wouldn't work, unfortunately 😕. Food coloring is water-based, and water and resin do not work together.
This looks a lot like plaster of Paris.
I've wondered if you could add charcoal powder to color this stuff if you wanted it dark.
👍🏻😃
How about face mask?
😊
