I've been using Mix 2 Mold for the past 3 months and for the most part, I love it! They do need to make their pigments better as they tend to be on the light side. I did order some pigments from, I believe Europe as it took twice as long for delivery and they are very good. One tip, Mix 2 Mold has cured within 30 minutes and sometimes 20 minutes. I then remove it from the mold and let it sit for 48 hours for all the water to release. When it's no longer cold I do know that it's fully cured and at that time you can seal it. The price is excellent and it's very easy to use as it does have directions on mixing with no need to calculate the ratio.
I haven’t tried it, but I’ve seen people use concrete powder colorant with great results. But it’s probably not food safe (but that goes for most colorants I’d imagine)
Great video. Have you seen Southern Lady Artistic Creations? Beth uses some water-based pigments from Temu, with great effect. I wish we could get Mix2Mold in the UK.
My local Michael’s and a few in Dallas (next state over) haven’t had this in stock for weeks now. I spoke with two AMs and they informed me that Michael’s will no longer carry this, and one stated it’ll be discontinued altogether. My heart sunk! Is this true? I’ve switched over from Cement All to this product and absolutely love it. Hope it doesn’t disappear 😢
I've been hearing that it's moving from Michael's to hobby lobby in the coming months. I hope that's the case because it's really a great product and I'd hate for it to go away.
BUT... Hobby Lobby has been known to copy creator's innovations, and then selling their copy for less, causing the creator to lose their own product, despite it being patented. All they do is buy one, send it to China and tell them to copy it and change it 20%. That is all that is required; a 20% change. I know someone who has had Hobby Lobby steal their invention. I will never buy from those hypocrites again.
Yes I did do my math wrong in the video. I was having a really off day when I did the first half of the video lol. I think I was dividing 60 by the sum of the 10 and 3 etc and then multiplying by 3 to get the 13.8g or whatever it was for the water. Brain fart lol. But yes 60g of resincrete takes 18g water and 60g mix2mold takes 20g water, and the 2 gram difference is insignificant with either eco resin and not enough to affect curing, at least not in such small batches. Thank you for pointing that out, because even in editing I didn't catch it.
They have larger sizes of ResinCrete that is more economical than the bag that you showed. I have used both brands and I have been VERY disappointed in the Mix2Mold because of several reasons. My first complaint is I have been unable to get glitter or Mica powder to mix well in it. My second complaint is the working time is MUCH less than the ResinCrete which is a big deal for me. Lastly, while your video shows the coloring comparable I have been disappointed in adding any type of coloring to the Mix2Mold. I have used several different methods of coloring and not been very impressed with any of them. You can stir and stir and stir and still it's not quite right all the while the mix is now getting thicker because, as I mentioned, the working time with M2M is way less. I will be using up what I have of the M2M and won't be buying any more. I'll be sticking with ResinCrete because it has given me consistently positive results with everything I've made with it.
I sprinkle the glitter and crushed glass onto the mold, for glitter, the larger the better and it will require some sanding for that glitter to appear. I agree with the colors but you can use coloring for jesmonite and coloring for concrete and they work much better. Once they figure out their colors, it will be perfect but for the dollar, even purchasing pigments from the UK, it's still less expensive to use. They also have some colored powders, I have not tried those.
I agree. Mix to mold you really don't even have half the time they say. Especially if you are trying to color bc the color is so pale I run out of time with it.
@@storminight It's definitely hard enough. I too have tried several, and I do mean several, cheaper alternatives and I hate all of them. ResinCrete is the ONLY product I've used that lets me mix whatever I want in it and have it stay mixed and come out looking great. IF you only want a white item that you'll then paint or whatever then the M2M will work and provides satisfactory results. That's what I intend to do with the remaining M2M that I have left. When I want to make something colorful with mica powder or glitter I will use the ResinCrete because it works and I have a longer working time with it than any of the other products I've tried.
No, Michaels is just not going to sell it, it's supposed to be sold on Amazon soon, from what I have been told by Brea Reese the manufacturer of Mix2Mold.
True, things are cheaper in bulk. I was unaware of resincrete coming in a larger size, but I just checked and a 3000g bag of resincrete is $50 on Amazon, which works out to $.016 per gram vs the 2500g mix2mold for $30 at $.012 per gram. So yes basing the price off of the smaller bag of resincrete was inaccurate but the mix2mold still ends up a little less expensive.
@@jkakstudios If only M2M worked as well as the ResinCrete when you start adding things like glitter, mica powder, paint etc. to it. No matter how long I stir it does not stay mixed. You also have a much smaller working time with M2M which adds to the problem of getting it mixed with additives. I've not had one success yet with additives and I've tried all different ones. If you just leave it white and paint it or whatever after it's cured then you get a decent end result but that is not what I had intended when I bought the product in the first place.

I'll have to check out some of her videos. A couple people have suggested those pigments from temu as well so I think I'll look into them too.
@@jkakstudiosthere is a lot of “drama” about data at a Chinese company. I won’t use them. But maybe I’m just paranoid. 🤷♀️
Couldn't find it for sale anywhere but Michaels!!

It's now available on Amazon.
Mix2Mold is measured by volume, not weight. 2T h2o per 1/3 cup of powder
Wow!! Thank you!!!
Bought some in Hobby Lobby just today.

In a couple of months, Hobby lobby is gonna have mixed 2 mold
And you can get it online too
I think 10 to 3 works out to 18 g of water to 60 g resincrete. Which is exactly the same as Mix2Mold.

Have you found resincrete to be hard enough? I’ve been looking at cheaper alternatives and I’m failing! 😂

Your price comparison is not accurate. Things are always cheaper in bulk. You should have compared the price of similar size quantities.
