- This week we find ourselves in a brand new location in our home county. It looks like an idyllic setting for a campsite and could be one of Lancashire's hidden gems. In the glorious weather we get out and about in the countryside to discover the small pleasures of macro nature photography.

We stayed here a few years ago as the young couple were just establishing the site .unfortunately the site was such a mess we moved on .we wished them well in their venture and hoped to return some day x
Hi Viv, years later and it’s still untidy. We were warned about the construction and acknowledge it, but there is so much other stuff that has an impact on the aesthetic. Still a good value stop, but a way off being a “camp site”.

Evening you two. Brilliant vlog as always. So funny and entertaining as always. So informative. My wife Julie agrees with Jane about the privacy regarding the toilet and shower. Need to cover those gaps. Also Andrew agree with what you said about keeping your dog under control and keep them on a lead and not let roam about. We have a dog and always keep him under control and on a lead. If we stay at a site we even put windbreaks up to make sure he can't get out but also he has a bit of a garden. Have to say brilliant photography and video work by you both on how you captured the nature shots. Can't separate you both on your pics. Take care be safe look forward to the next vlog. 👍👍

Don’t think it’s a site for us. I think I’d be on tender hooks all the time. But certainly a glorious place for the owners to be building their own house.. by the way, lovely photos you’ve both taken and great video as always ❤

Great vlog. Looks like one to avoid for the present, I think the small road would have put me off.. so is Jane’s side off the bed a bit softer before the new Macro lens arrived 😂😂😂
Hi Stephen, still a decent value parkup to get access to the nature walks etc, and I’m sure the site will improve in time.
There is now no stuffing in the mattress, all the RUclips earnings have been redirected to a 2nd hand lens 📸 😂

@@Eurosully we tried to get in a few sites that weekend in Keswick and Poole bridge all either fully booked or you could get one night £46 or £56 for a super pitch. Being 5pm didn’t think it was worth it. so we ended up in the Theartre car park in Keswick 12.50 for 24hrs bonus. And gives me a extra £35 for fishing stuff 😂😂
Love the vlog , we do like this type of place , back to nature , as for dogs roaming , agree on that one , wedont have a dog so in some ways not an issue , always wince at the narrow lane shots , the mirrors have the scars to match , hope you find some more hidden gems , fab photos too btw

The lane is one of those where you purse your lips, suck air in and try to make yourself thinner 😂 but no damage, just soft leaves!
Glad you liked the (very) amateur photography, we enjoyed scratching about in the hedgerows filming it, and put it at the end of the vlog as it’s not everyone’s cup of tea ☕️ easy to just click on to another vlog then.
I think we may have found another gem. After navigating, without incident, that lane, we headed into Cumbria. Last night we had a sunset, a beech, waves lapping, birds tweeting and no dogs… you’ll see in the next vlog 👍😂

Great vlog again, and we definitely appreciate the honest review of that site. We've just got back from an independent campsite near Corfe, Dorset and returned to our van one afternoon to find new arrivals pitched next to us had their dog off lead and it peed on our van. There were signs all around saying dogs must be kept on leads (common sense!) It wasn't worth a shouting match, but it makes me wonder why people behave like t**ts and spoil a good thing?! So I was thoroughly enjoying your rant Andrew and glad to know I'm not the only one fed up with other people and their badly behaved dogs 😂 Jane, I must say your photo of the flowers from the ground looking up at them was top drawer! Also the bugs were excellent. 🏆

But we still had a good time, and the site/stop/parkup is worth a visit.

Yes, it’s difficult to find a balance between slating a business and also making sure people who watch our vlogs don’t have nasty surprises when they visit.
We’ve noticed quite a few subscribers following our footsteps lately so we have to be objective for their sake.
It’s a good stop over, near a fabulous beauty spot, but far from my top ten. Still worth a stop 👍
