Very good work David. Extremely critical part of guitar set up. One that most manufacturers disregard completely.

I really like how you put the exact break angle on it. Always learning with these tips.

Great information. Helped out a lot as I was replacing the nut on a strat with a blank and had never done it before. Turned out perfect. Rewired it all with new pots and a superswitch. I have enough dough to buy pickups for one of my strats or my tele, but they all test out fine on the multimeter. Maybe I'll wait and put the money into my tele build. I'm going to check out some of your other content because this really gave me the details I needed. Thanks! Beautiful guitar, by the way. That finish really pops and the neck and headstock are beautiful. Hopefully I can build something like that one day. I don't have CNC, but I have everything else a guy needs in a wood shop. I'm babbling. Thanks again!

So nice to see a nut blank remaining square when being reduced in size with the aid of an engineering square or similar. I have always used this method. As demonstrated it is very important for nut or saddle to make 100% contact with the neck or bridge cavity. When ever I make a new saddle for a guitar it come as no surprise to see old saddle with unsquared base.
    That neck looks amazing!

Been a player, luthier & carpenter since 1988, actually played a lot longer, never seen a belt sander like that! 🤷‍♂️🤣🤷‍♂️

My Ibanez PM 30 had a nut slot issues. I need to straighten it out. Seems when using files slight gaps on the ends show when nut is inserted. Any nut won't fit perfectly no matter how shaved. Throw the guitar away? Subscribed

If it has a locking nut you may just need to replace the whole assembly

Clean work David! Have you ever tried alternative materials? I can't stand the smell of sanding bone, so I've been using Corian with good results.

Yeah I agree about the smell. I need to try corian. Probably muck cheaper too

@@eworcustomguitars I paid 10€ for a small sample box with enough for at least 12 nuts. Many people manage to get offcuts for free though.

Can’t see where nut goes, logo would be better on top right not bottom right
