I am a mental health peer support worker. I have been listening to Devin speak about his struggles and successes with his mental health, and I find his point of view both refreshing and compelling. Recovery is a long and sometimes difficult process, and I am always heartened by people who take this journey seriously and are able to reflect on it with compassion and insight. Thank you for having this conversation, it is so important for people to hear.
These are some deep, wise, and open conversations! Thank you for posting this :)
So easy when you get to talk to someone who is by their very nature wise and deep hey. Thank you :)

"I don't aspire to be a good man. I aspire to be a whole man." Carl Jung.
I realized my aspiration to be a good man, even in my own terms, have created tensions. I never really questioned it. Until I paid close attention to the Dao symbol. It's called Yin Yang, not Yin "and" Yang for a reason. For the black and white are one, they're not separate, they're manifestations of the Dao/Oneness within a "matrix" of creation, a fractalization of the same origin.
What I realized then was that the Yin Yang exists within a circle. That circle must be transparent and pure in order to contain the polarity and dynamism within it. So instead of identifying myself with one of the polarities, I changed my focus and become the Circle instead. It doesn't mean that the inner tensions disappear. It's that I developed a different attitude towards them. It's now integrative. Towards my own light and darkness, and towards others'. Since then the tensions become like a play. A serious play. So when the adversary shows up I treat it accordingly. I'm not spellbounded, my choices are not so automatic, I can think steps ahead and I can reprogram my subconscious.
My internal effort in balancing the light and darkness is what creates the experience of Wholeness. It's in the process, not the end result. So the ultimate reward is already contained in the effort.
The real "death" is when the consciousness is so encapsulated within the polarity and its narratives. There's no real death other than that from the eyes of the Ultimate Being. We all exists within It. Instead of treating the polarity as tools, one is confused and loses track with the origin.
This is caused by an ancient force within creational matrix that prevents human from experiencing others as oneself. This force was necessary in order to establish creation where "one" perceives oneself as separate from the "other". It's what solidifies a sense of separate identity. But this creational force has no "conscience", it's like a software that's pre-installed within our programming and it can go as far as creating destruction, within and without.
In reality we are never actually separated from our essence, our origin. The cloud doesn't put out the sun.
Wow. Thank you for sharing dude.
That’s some profound words.
