Thanks for stopping by brother!! Always appreciate you my man! I agree, they certainly have eye catching labels/theme. Crazy operation they have over there, they seem like the busiest people in the industry. Have a great week bro!
Awesome shave, Aaron! Sounds like an incredible scent, I’m sure I’d love it since I like floral scents. Nice dense lather on that too and excellent work with the micromatic!
Thanks so much for watching Matt! Always appreciate your support and kind words, man! Yeah, I was thinking this one is definitely up your alley. I know for sure you and your wife too would enjoy it a lot. I had fun shaving with this micromatic, even though I prefer the open comb. Got the job done fine. Have a great week my friend!
Great shave Aaron. This is another PAA soap I don’t have. I’ve been thinking of getting a GEM razor. Looks like it did a great job. Have a good night and take care.
Thanks so much for watching Lee! Always appreciate your continued support and kind words my friend! Garden of Bali is a great floral scent. I feel like I don't see many people using this one, for whatever reason. GEMs have a great price point, so if you get one and don't like it, you're only out like 12-15 bucks. But they are fun to use, I think you would enjoy them. Have a great week man!
Thanks so much for stopping by Robert! Always appreciate your continued support! Always love seeing you stop by. Hope you're having a great week over there as well! Have a good one!
Hi. Nice one. No logo but that brush performed well 🙂 Nice lather. Those little aftershave samples are nice to travel with. Have a good hump day. Cheers from Central Europe
Thanks so much for your continued support my friend! Always really appreciate your kind comments on my videos! Yeah, I was never a fancy brush guy, so I could live without the brush logo. I'm kind of liking the denser lathers nowadays. The residual slickness seems to be better when I hydrate it less. Fun to experiment with. I feel bad because I know you guys have a hard time getting the samples because of restrictions. But boy are they convenient. Love the little vials they come in too. Hope all is well over there! Have a great day!
Thanks so much for watching Adrian! Appreciate your feedback and for stopping by today! Yeah, it smells like an actual tropical garden. It's good stuff for sure. Yeah, I was on the fence with gems at first because they looked a bit intimidating, and way different from the normal de's that I'm used to. But I find them to be efficient and easy to use. This one didn't do as well as some of my others, but still gave a comfy shave. Great price points on the gems as well. Hope you have a great week man!
Another great shave, I recently got into wet shaving and I got myself some DG soaps (really love the milksteak base) also got the Yaqi brush you use in this video and it's really great and affordable. Probably going to look for some phoenix artisan soon.
Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by to watch! I appreciate that and the kind words! Great choices! I don't see as many people using DG as i used to. Which is a shame because it's amazing soap. I always love his gorgeous website, I wish more artisans took time with their sites like he does. Glad to hear you're enjoying the yaqi! Great price point and performance. Feels like such a steal. Phoenix always has great stuff, hard to go wrong with them! Keep on shaving on and have a great weekend!
Thanks so much for watching Jason! Always appreciate you stopping by and your kind words man! Very happy to see you're enjoying the content! Glad we are both Gem fans. They are fun to shave with, and I found them surprisingly easy to get the hang of, since they look intimidating at first. Hope you have a great week ahead!
Cool shave, Aaron! I have good memory of Garden of Bali soap experience. Very exotic & mysterious sea breeze & bamboo scent. Yaqi Sagrada Familia brush was my first synthetic brush. Its tuxedo knot is very soft with adequate back bone. Have a great week!
Hey Hoon! Thanks so much for watching! Appreciate you stopping by! I love how you describe the Garden of Bali scent. I agree, the bamboo and sea breeze is what also comes to mind for me when I smell it. It’s a great floral scent for the summer. I’m happy to hear the Sagrada Familia brush was your first. Its a very nice looking small brush, that gets the job done well. I love the price point too on yaqi brushes. Great performance at an affordable price. Take care, and hope you have a great week as well!
Nice shave as always Aaron. The scent sounds great. I dabbled in fragrance in my younger years and decades later I'm getting back into it. The GEM almost looks like a surgical tool. Always good to see you pull it out. Thinking about going back to part time work when my son returns to school this fall. I have anxiety/panic attacks just thinking about it. I honestly fear working with a bunch of psychos because thats pretty much what I see when I go out. Always good to see your shaving videos. Brightens my day.
Hi Doug! Thanks you so much for your continued support and positive feedback on my content. It always makes me happy to hear that you're enjoying my videos :). Always enjoy seeing you stop by my friend! Always fun to revisit old hobbies years later, and come into it with a new appreciation. That's what life is all about. Yeah...they arent the most attractive razors out there haha. But they are always fun to experiment with. Of course I get better shaves with normal de's, But using the gems gives me nice variety. As someone who is currently working, I confirm I work with a bunch of psychos. Times are crazy, and everyone is losing their minds. But keep me updated if you choose to get back into work mode! Enjoy your week!
Great shave review . Actually I shaved this morning with PAA’s frostbite, but I used the garden of Bali aftershave. I really like this scent and I do not like florals generally. It’s something much more than that for me. I also used my Rockwell 6C today first time ever. Fantastic shave. Gillette 7 o’clock blades. Hope all is well.
Thanks so much for watching man!! Appreciate your support and feedback! I’m happy you’re enjoying my reviews. Totally agree that garden of Bali has more complexity to it than a typical floral scent. It’s my wife’s second favorite scent of all time (behind chiseled face ghost town barber). The ocean ozone and greenery really make it for me. Smells like an actual jungle in Bali by the ocean. Rockwell has been on my list, I’m glad to hear you enjoy it. I’m probably gonna snag the 6s soon since I’ve heard so much about it. Hope you enjoy your weekend!
love PAAs old salty, the battle and atomic bay rum. those GEM razors are just neat, probably not as efficient as DE but they remove a 5'o'clock shadow just fine. Got a 100 pack of blade for 20 bucks a while back
Thanks so much for watching! Appreciate you and your feedback! Glad you're also a fan of some PAA scents. Never smelled the battle, but I like old salty, and love atomic age bay rum. Easily the best bay rum I've ever smelled. Doug has always been a bay rum wiz. Yeah, on a normal day where I'm going for an efficient shave, I don't typically bust out the GEMs. Like you said, I always get better shaves with a DE. But I find the GEMs fun to use and experiment with. It's fun to switch things up, and the GEMs provide me with comfortable shaves. Love the prices on them too. Have a great week!
I’m not into florals so this is way too floral for me. And the aftershave is very strong. I agree that Chiseled Face’s Ghost Town Barber is a great barbershop scent, though I think their best scent is Summer Storm - it’s amazing.
Thanks so much Bill for your continued support! Appreciate you stopping by! Yeah, can totally see how non floral fans wouldn't enjoy this scent. It's not for everyone. Glad to hear you enjoy ghost town, that is a great barbershop scent and really unique. I'm glad she's into masculine type scents like that as well. I just got summer storm and totally agree, it's really refreshing. Not like a rain candle you would smell in a store. Have a great weekend!
Agreeing with this. The scent is extremely floral and makes me think of the toilet scent you sometimes get from house diffusers. I have been in Bali and that’s not like it by far. ( I love many paa but not that one )
The microphone seems to be working fine, must be the phone speakers. Personally I no longer collect PAA products (PAA is not in my price range anymore) but PAA having only CK6 makes commercial sense, although it does mean there's no lower priced option, CK6 is priced in the lower premium range where there is a lot of competition these days, however, PAA has the advantaged of a large and varied scent range. Sorry not a fan of GEMs, not a lot of blade choices and they mess up my face😜, as you know I like razors on the Milder side. The great thing about our shaving hobby even after years of shaving this way we can keep experimenting with different razors, soaps, lather structure, blades, etc. Take care Aaron👍🤠🤟
Hey there Lawrie!! Always appreciate you watching and your continued support, my friend! Always a pleasure having you stop by! Thanks for the feedback about the microphone! Yeah, another person outside of the states here mentioned that PAA is becoming too pricey, which makes sense. Like you said, competition right now is crazy, and combine that with the current economy, higher prices offerings will decline in sales. But you're right, PAA has such a huge following and an insane catalogue which is their big advantage. Their operation is impressive, I don't know how they do what they do. Can totally see how people aren't gem fans. They are kind of wacky, and there's so many better razor options out there. But like you said, experimenting keeps the hobby interesting :). Have a great weekend!
I wonder if anyone else does what i do with my Phoenix edps ..when mines get less than half i fill up my edp bottle with the aftershave cologne and it works ! Stretch that dollar out and lasts longer
Thanks so much for watching Jake! Always appreciate you my man! Never heard of anyone doing that, but that's a great idea. Makes a lot of sense. I'll have to do that when my garden of bali gets low, so thanks for the tip. Also works out good cause I like the scent of the aftershave better for some reason. Have a great night brother!
Thanks so much for watching Ethan! That's a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion! I would love to do that and give you a shout out in my next video!! Until then have a great weekend!
Hey Tobin! Thanks so much for watching!! Appreciate you stopping by! Yeah, not only is GOB the whitest PAA soap I’ve ever seen, but it’s probably the whitest shave soap I’ve seen out of every artisan. Really neat color with this one. Probably something to do with the ingredient/fragrance oils. Love this scent. Have a great day!
Trust me don't ever go down the cologne rabbit hole my friend. I started off with wet shaving and then transitioned into colognes because I like being able to enjoy a scent throughout the day but my wallet is never happy with my decision....
Thanks so much for watching man! Yeah..good call. I knew early on in the hobby that I wouldn't be falling into the cologne hole. Luckily the splashes stay on my skin for a while, so there was never a need for me to get a lot of colognes (even though the artisans try to get you to buy all the edp's). They are also too pricey for me. I can see how a lot of wetshavers transition into the cologne world, and have seen many of them do so. Like you said, they are crazy expensive. Anyway, thanks again for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Hey Glenn! Thanks so much for stopping by man, always appreciate you! Glad to see we both agree about PAA. Crazy operation they have, I don't know how they do it. The mind of Doug is something special, haha. Knowing your broad taste in scents, I think you would really enjoy this one. It's a bold, green tropical garden type scent. I'll have to get you a sample of it soon. Have a nice weekend!
