So glad you are prioritizing your mental health and energy. I'm expecting my fourth baby so I totally understand what you are saying about underestimating the level of tired after baby comes. It's a short season in the big picture, but it sure feels long when you are in the middle. Embrace any support that you have, say yes to help, and know that the challenges change quicker than you might expect.
I love that this is a "what I've been eating" and not "what I eat in a day"! Thanks for that, and thanks for sharing all these AMAZING recipes and recipe inspiration!
Glad you’re doing well! Miss your content on RUclips but also love that you’re taking care of your family and yourself. Gonna make some soy curl tacos tonight actually so thanks for the idea
Happy to have anything from you. Being a mother, especially the first time can be (certainly was for me) incredibly exhausting. Thanks for the video!!🙏😊
Hi Lisa!!! I've missed your chatty videos. I keep replying your old ones so I feel a little less alone. Hope all is well with you and your family. ❤️❤️❤️
Lisa so glad to have you back! Please don't apologize for not making videos. You have much more important priorities. This video was like a Christmas present to me. I am not vegan but I watch your videos as they are very comforting & I like to learn about food in general.
I made a similar marinade for the seitan curls with lime, orange juice, chipotle powder, garlic, onion, cilantro, salt, pepper, and mushroom powder, and OMG!!! It was so good! The citruses and cilantro def made a huge difference. They were so good in burritos! Thanks for the inspo!
Glad to be part of your journey! I love how transparent you are but at the same time keeping boundaries and taking care of yourself. Cheers to you and your family
Really happy to see a video from you! And the recipes look delicious, thanks for the inspo :) take care of yourself, don't worry about content, there is plenty of old videos from you I can watch :)
Yes! Have miss the ramble!!! I do the same with my beany in the BLW department hahahahaa Is so funny how we (mothers) are so different but the same at the same time, you know? Ahhahaha glad you are back!
I wasn't as worried about the content, I was just hoping that y'all were okay and that you were enjoying time with baby. It goes by so fast. My "baby" will be 15 in November and I do miss the days when they were little and cute. Enjoy every moment that you can and we'll be here when it's the right time to come back.
Always exciting when I get a notification for a new Viet Vegan video! All the food look amazing! Also taking care of a baby is a full time job, so it’s amazing you can find the energy and creativity to post on Instagram. I’d love more baby food content when you’ll feel like
Yay, glad you're back(ish)! I missed the longer content! I love the mung bean sticky rice that your Beanie baby also eats- a similar dish is often given as babies' first food in the Bangladeshi culture (kichuri/khichdi). Super soft and easy on the tummy; we also eat it when we're sick. Anyway, hope you're ok and hope we can see more content but understood if you're too busy and tired!!
Aww, I do miss the rambles! But definitely prioritizing your mental health is number one!!! I'm so happy for you that you're about to hit 100k any day now!!!
i really really miss your content, but taking care of yourself and your baby and husband is much more important, sending you much love and nothing but the best wishes
I love your content on Instagram. Those daily updates and some insights into what you eat. And the rambling! Keep it up! And take care of yourself. I am happy to hear that at the end of the day, quite literally, you are doing something that you enjoy - reading :)
Loved this video! As a new mom as well I can relate to all that you said about taking care of your baby. Would love to hear more about your BLW journey and plant based eating for baby as I’m about to start on that soon with my baby! I just followed you on Instagram to see what you’ve been up to. Thanks for the great content!
Accidentally found vegan shin ramen?!!! Omg I gotta go and look now! I found some new vegan flavours of Nongshim but the store only had the cup noodle. I prefer the packs. Love these videos! You’re doing a great job! xx
Honestly, I'm impressed you're even cooking this much. I have 3 kids (about to turn 5 and two younger!) and it does get easier, but I don't cook anywhere near as much as you do and am watching this exhausted. Looking forward to seeing more content from you when you have more time and energy.
Great to see you on here again, Lisa. Glad all is well and everyone is progressing along. Loved watching your food prep… they all looked amazing! BTW, lately we’ve been doing our fresh corn in the instapot-cut each ear in half and stand up in the bowl with enough water to cover the steamer grate for 4 minutes and then natural release. Take care! 😎
Honestly love to see what you’ve been eating and I appreciate the honesty. I’m constantly questioning whether or not the baby fever is real or not for me in the future and seeing what mamas really feel during helps! I hope you feel more energized soon! 💜
Yess!! Also I highly recommend making like a Mexican quick pickle slaw to go with Gardein fishless filets and a chipotle mayo. I was alternating between that and the carne asada tacos for a while!
I do see your Instagram stories and I’m happy with those. No need to apologise, you definitely have to put your self and family first at this point. 💚💚💚
This was so fun! Glad you + family are doing well. I have to ask though - that squirt of off-white right after the mayo on your sandwich, what was it? I thought maybe mustard, but it looks too light.
I don’t know if you’ve answered this already but do you say they for beanie to keep their identity safe ? I’m not meaning it to be intrusive or rude I’m just curious 😌 also I love your videos so much 🖤
You will get back to it soon, when she is a little older and sleeping longer you will feel more energised, I had 4 boys and 3 under 3, wow it was hard but you get there. I think when she is walking and becoming more independent you will start to feel like you again, right now all she wants is mummy and your time, enjoy it because its not long before our children grow and need us less. Love some of the food ideas you shared too 🥰
Hi :) I think, this is a really kind and lovely comment. 💕 But maybe you should swap out the "she" for a "they". I don't exactly know if bean is non-binary, however, the creator of the video never mentions a gender and I think it would be more respectful if the followers wouldn't assume one :) have a lovely day!
@@nadja8087 Hi, I don’t really want to get into a big discussion here as this is Lisa’s RUclips channel where I’ve followed her amazing food for years, her amazing beans being my favourite and still make then once a week 😋. I work in a school and ‘they’ is not grammatically correct for one person, I know in some cases it does but I don’t think it sounds right and we wouldn’t tech the children that. So for me its either he, she or it and I’m not referring to a baby as it, so call it my little ‘nick’ name I will use ‘she’, 50/50 chance its right 😊 Hope you have a lovely day too, take care 🙏
Geri, I am disappointed that you have followed me so long and not learned from my content about non-binary people and respecting peoples’ gender identities and pronouns. It is in fact, correct and common to use “they” for singular pronouns. Often when we don’t know someone’s gender, we will use ‘they’. For example, “A teacher strives to teach their students to the best of their ability”.
Non-binary and queer gender identities are not new. They are a part of Indigenous, Pacific Islander, African and South-East Asian cultures and have been for many generations! There are genderqueer gods in Hindu mythology. As a teacher, I would hope you are as open to learning new things as you hope for your students.
@@Thevietvegan Maybe it is different in some countries, I’m in the UK and teach children between the ages of 3 to 7 and we haven’t ever brought up this subject at all, maybe older students do, possibly in high school. I do know it has been around for many years but I think its fairly recent where the gender of a child isn’t revealed, you only have to luck in card shops, congratulations and your baby boy/girl. I have 4 sons and my eldest is gay, one of his friends a few years ago had his gender changed so I’m well aware of people wanting to identify as someone/something else.
Question: do you think picky eaters come from nature or are created from parents? I bet plant based babies are way more adventurous with food as they grow up?
You mentioned in this video that you got COVID and as someone who is experiencing long COVID, fatigue is the number one complaint. So combine that with motherhood, it’s a surprise you have any energy at all at the end of the day. Energy management is a real thing!
Hi! Gotta admit I haven’t been following your channel (and my other subscriptions) super closely - social media / tech break, you know. And - since when do you have a baby! Omg. Just wanted to say I appreciate the heck out of you using non-gendered pronouns (and raising them neutrally?)! Bean and Beanie are such cute little names. I love the ramble, too! It’s real life. Thanks for sharing these food ideas, and I hope you get rest soon!
Since December 😂 I only use they/them online! We use ASAB pronouns but we hope to foster an environment where Bean feels safe to explore gender as they wish! Also Beanie is a nickname haha. All for privacy and safety for the kiddo.
It's so strange to hear someone else call their baby "beanie"... I was born in '81 and my grandmother called me that from the time I was born. I've been "Beanie" for 41 years, never once have I heard anyone else called that... until now.
Parenting is hard! So many RUclipsrs seem like they have so much time, and have multiple children. I don't get it. I felt like you, where my down time was just to catch up, or relax your brain when I had my son.
Children at that age are a handful and it actually gets a bit harder when the crawling and walking starts. I'm an aunt and running after and grabbing children is a natural thing nowadays. How can they be so fast with so tiny short legs?🤔
it makes me sad to hear you. in sweden you have at least one year of parental leave, it is not even legal to send the child off to kindergarten before that.
Nice to see you here, Lisa! Great meal ideas, and nice to hear chats. I know to find you (and cute, cute baby sounds) on Instagram, where you are quite prolific, despite being a busy person with a baby. I didn’t realize you’re so close to big numbers on both YT and Insta. So, I’m going to say 🎉CONGRATULATIONS🎉 to you for 100,000 on RUclips and on Instagram, since you’re practically there. That’s a really AWESOME accomplishment!👏🤩🌸💗
Thank you!!! Hahah yeah Instagram stories and the occasional reel are the easiest for medium for me to create with during the windows of baby slumber 😂
Thank you so much for sharing! I enjoy your videos! I’ll give this recipe a try. I love the presentation of your video. You make it look so easy! I make cooking videos too. I love to learn from talented creators like you! I hope we can learn more from each other!

I was primary parent for 7 years, so thankful I could but it was extremely tiring in so many ways! Good to have you back
I love watching you trying to balance food and other household responsibilities. Brings so much realism to cooking for a family

I really like your talking and miss floor groceries, too. 😂 Nice to see you post. It's understandable that you're busy and tired.
I haven’t done proper grocery hauls in a while 😂 we do little grocery spurts here and there since Bean and I will go to the store as an outing haha
