@@Emtrax. you can put them in a “lock mode” where they don’t do nothing and you can walk up hill I guess , but yea I’m flat warehouses these things might be good if they can work around the safety hazards lol
@@Emtrax. Ive never seen bikes for city routes but Ive seen segways.. Id say this more for flat routes with mail stops largly spread out.( park at an intersection, deliever 4 blocks on foot and then drive up) the bike would be too cumbersome for that option
Initially it got me thinking on the visual disruption, but then I recalled the recent high adoption of electric scooters and it's really no less disruptive than these. Can kind of see where this price is coming from, but it will definitely hurt the adoption until the notice of how time saving these can be. The same way when people got used to paying 1k on a phone.
Amazing we can probably improve the model aswell such as putting Graphite milon sheets or a solar panel on the heel to take in energy while on the move or some sort of gyroscope electrostatic generator when a little movement is applied the power from movement produces more energy
Unfortunately I don't see these being a thing at all for a variety of reasons. I would rather an electric bike at the same price, which would be safer and faster. Stopping and starting these things would drive me crazy.
would be nice if you show the guy recording the video and one person walking along side, how is the difference and this and walking on a block for example.
What if you have a limp? What if the batteries fail and you need to change them, or you just want more range? Battery swap. Do they have a weight limit, what happens if you exceed that weight limit?
Can you come and test it on Thailand street walk? There's always a bad traffic here and I always walk home it's no big deal butit take times I wanna get home faster so I wanna know if those shoes can handle our shitty sidewalk😅😅
What would happen if you stepped with one shoe into the grass/dirt around the trees? It seems like it would be nearly impossible to overcome these types momentum and balance problems. If one of your feet is suddenly stuck in some mud, wont you likely fall regardless of what the shoes do to compensate?
What would happen if you stepped into mud with roller blades on? Oh thats right you would use common sense and avoid muddy areas. Not sure why you’d expect it to be thoughtless operation
@@calibudz5504 So you're saying these are no more capable than rollerblades? Then why not just wear rollerblades? (The whole point is that they are supposed to be better.) "Typical in Pittsburgh. Rust-belt city. We have a lot of old infrastructure. A lot of bad sidewalks. **None of its a problem for Moonwalkers.** We wanted a product we could actually use here in our own city." It is presented as a practical way to walk around a city with lots of obstacles. In other words, something far more practical to use than rollerblades. The reason I asked this specific question is because you can see they are avoiding the dirt in this video. I think it's important to know how capable they are of handling unexpected obstacles. If you wear these everyday, it's only a matter of time until someone walks around a corner in front of you, an idiot on a bike suddenly hops up on the sidewalk in front of you, you don't notice a pothole until the last second, etc. that forces you into a less desirable situation like stepping onto dirt. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me like they are marketing this for practical everyday use, not as some kind of new and mildly-dangerous urban sport.
Hi @PleaseJustLetMeBeAnonymousGoogle, the control system doesn't just look at the single shoe. It ultimately looks at your whole body balance from the aspect of walking dynamics. If you step on something that just causes a small speed drop and you are still in balance, Moonwalkers will continue propelling you. However, if you suddenly lose balance or pose yourself for an emergency stop to avoid collision with another pedestrian, Moonwalkers will slow down as soon as possible without throwing you off. Hope that answers your question!
@@ShiftRoboticsOfficial Thanks for replying! That partly answers what I was wondering. The other part is probably difficult to explain in words. It would be really cool to see some video of people reacting to obstacles and stopping suddenly. Without actually wearing them, it's difficult to tell if these would be great or impractical/dangerous. A video of more extreme situations could show a lot though. Thanks again 🙂
It's like I totally want them but I could just use my skateboard or learn to roller blade. I could even buy heelies & coast that's the goal I want to coast.
Does it take batteries to run? If rechargeable, can it hook up to a standard electrical outlet? I would prefer batteries for zero downtime. What are the sizes? Finally, what's the price?
What high powered electronic still takes batteries or just batteries these days. And no you need a dryer adapter to plug em in, moron. C'mon... Only legit questions you asked are what sizes and what's the price. 9 men, $1300. No other sizes fully rechargable in 1.5 hours 9.6km range

ok, all good but, good skates take me faster, without the need for electricity and with a much lower cost. My question is, how do these shoes compete with roller blades? What extra benefits do these shoes bring me, compared to skates?
There was already a kind of shoes called "Moonwalkers". It was back in the 80s/90s. The shoes had rubber bottoms, so you could jump. The people who made those should have put a "™" next to their name. They should have just called these "Roller-Skates".
Theoretically with a very powerful AI and much smaller wheels and system, in 10 years these could make you run 50-55mph effortlessly and in total security's
There is no AI involved here. It wouldn't achieve anything useful and on top the shoes would need powerful processors and therefore horrible battery life
Great application for warehouse workers, airport staff, big hotels, etc I wish it all the success.
This is awesome for european cities. Especially if someone is afraid of biking on a crowded road
the future of a concept like this will be amazing in a few years
An off road trail version would be nice
Yea these are just really early versions of this concept imagine powered shoes in 50 years or
i see this being used in warehouses
Warehouses? Where do you need to hurry in a warehouse? The toilet?

Big props to the camera man you did great we saw everything perfectly without trouble 😁
Love how you avoided all the cracks in an attempt to show walking on the cracks!
This is a game changer for getting into to Target on Black Friday.
Super impressive.
An engineering marvel.
This is really cool. How much faster can a person travel with one charge vs without moonwalker?
250% allegedly
7mph
you need to push this toward delivery workers and mailman, whats the battery life and weight capacity?
Mailmen use bikes, better yet an electric bike, this would only work on flat services, would be in trouble of you have to go up hill.

Takes up to a few feet to fully stop due to momentum, so depends on the speed, like rollerblades

Showing the walker at full speed is a must. So far just looks like walking. Sell em!
i mean it is called moonwalker so.. LOL but yeah i would love to see more and more videos .. so far this all looks like a good looking gimmick
How long does charge hold and how long does it take to charge shoes?
10,5 km to last battery
Interesting! How much of an incline and decline with they cope with?

is it possible to run while wearing them?
