Really good track. Missed these guys, so glad I got to see them in their prime back in the day.
As someone said this song is a banger for 3 reasons:
1: the band went back to their og style
2: the video looks like a trailer for an actual 70's movie
3: the members still know how to have fun and have such amazing chemistry after being together for 10-11 years.
I wasn’t a massive SOTY fan, saw them at Knotfest and wasn’t impressed BUT then I heard this killer track! Now I am a fan… this song is one of my faves of the year
Yes, needs a longer breakdown. But, they often extend or slow down bridges/breakdowns in their live shows. “Ghost Of You and I” long outro is dynamite

I love Story of the Year and will basically always support them no matter what they do. I love the riffs coming out of this album so far. My only complaint is how safe they're playing it with the song-writing. It's pretty much all Verse > Chorus > Verse > Chorus > Lazy Breakdown > Quiet Chorus > Normal Chorus. I know it's unreasonable to expect another "Black Swan", but even Wolves had more interesting song-writing than this so far.

I live in St. Louis, their home. I've followed them forever, even before they were Story of the Year they were Big Blue Monkey. I was a crowd member in their first single "Until The Day I Die." That venue was such a small dingy hole in the wall known as The Creepy Crawl. And when I say small, I mean packed like sardines if even 200 people were there. It didn't help that there was a guardrail straight through the middle that literally zig-zagged not 20 feet from the stage, if you would call a foot tall stage to seperate the minors from the over 21's a stage. That video made that venue look way bigger. It was as big as a fucking dive bar, which it was. Still, fun fucking times.

If you haven't, check out Story Of The Year's podcast "Page Avenue Crew" they talk all about their influences and they're seriously funny dudes. Loving everything I've heard from the new album so far. I'm on the same boat about things being longer. None of the new songs so far have cracked the 3 minute mark. Also, Ryan is an absolute beast on the guitar, I hope to hear a few shready solos. Did you guys listen to their 3rd song from the album "Take The Ride"? You didn't do a reaction, did you listen to it in private? What did you think?
