This is easily the most unique and original indie collection I've ever seen. Finally I'm impressed. I need like...every single one! They're STUNNING!!!!
i need them all! i've seen different renditions of birthstone collections, too, and by far KBShimmer has knocked this one out of the park! great swatches, Jess! xoxo
Wow this collection is stunning!! Thanks for the video, great swatches as always! I NEED Amethyst, Black Pearl, Sapphire and Blue Topaz, I think my brain was about to implode when you were swatching Sapphire!! That is one of the most GORGEOUS polishes I've ever seen and I'll bet its even better in person! Can't wait for these to be released, my bank account is crying!
I broke down and ordered the whole set today. I am so stoked to get my hands on this collection. Your swatches sealed the deal for me quite a while back, but I was suppose to be on a low buy.
This is a brilliant collection--in part because of the awesome finish of these polishes, and also because we all are going to want to get our birth month! Between this and the ILNP holiday collection, I like that this type of polish is becoming a trend.
love this collection. I am just going to have to buy the whole collection. thank you for doing these swatches I love them, you save me money by swatching these polishes and talking about the formula
Bought Emerald thanks to this video and it is my new favorite polish! Whenever I wear it, I can't keep my eyes off my nails. Buying the polish for my birthstone next, diamond. 💕
Hadn't planned on purchasing any more polishes for a couple months to get use of some ones I've hauled recently and I just made another shopping list after this video.. Awesome job once again Jess! 😊
+Stacia Hill Oh wait I just googled it and it turns out that October has 2 birthstones. One of them being tourmaline. Still bummed out about not seeing an opal polish though.
+Marielle Allen yeah! I guess they wanted to be able to have the same finish for all the polishes. Looking online I see that opal and tourmaline can be the October birthstone, but I think pretty much everyone uses opal as the October birthstone so it's a bit confusing!
+Stacia Hill My guess is that she chose to go with tourmaline rather than opal because it would have ended up being very similar to diamond. This is also why I believe she did a black pearl for June instead of the very traditional white pearl, if that makes sense? Three colorless or otherwise white polishes in the same collection would have been quite redundant. Although it would have been interesting to see some iridescent flakies in an opal polish vs the silver
+Katherine H I definitely would have liked to see opal as well. They could have gone with any of the many variations of opal that are colored. I'm just bummed because opal is my favorite stone.
Yay! Your favorite is my birthstone 👌😊 I was so excited when I saw this, I stopped what I was doing just to grab a snack and watch your video lol. These are beautiful polishes, these are perfect to give as a gift!
I'm a bit disappointed with June and October. I was really looking forward to Alexandrite for my birth month. I know June has two, but black pearl isn't one of them. Opal is so pretty, I would've loved to see her take on that stone. Ruby is Gorgeous!
+Kay Gray We have and existing polish, Look On The Nightside that would have been exactly what we did for Alexandrite (it has the same color shift in a metallic flake), so we chose to go with Black Pearl instead of including an existing polish in the collection. You may enjoy that polish instead! As far as pearl, in our research any form of pearl fit for June, but I am sorry you are disapointed.
+J Jeff When I saw the bottle shot for Garnet, I was kinda like "meh" but then she applied it and I was like "ooh"! The bottle shots don't do the polishes justice because all the glitter thats stuck to the sides.
Your videos have cost me so much money since I subscribed to you! LOL! Anywho, how do these compare to the ILNP Holiday Collection (specifically Ruby -vs- Cherry Luxe, Emerald -vs- Lucky One, Peridot -vs- Limelight)? I remember you said in your ILNP video that Cherry Luxe was your favorite from that collection! Thank you for being my go-to on all things "nail polishes I MUST have now!"!
+Stacy Plowman-Pennock The finish is very similar to the ILNP (these might be slightly more holographic) but the colors aren't dupes. Ruby is a bit more pink than Cherry Luxe, Emerald is darker than Lucky One, Peridot is a bit more yellow than Limelight :)
My birthstone is Sapphire although I love blues I'm not a huge fan of dark blues I wish mine was blue topaz like my boyfriend, that birthstone color is beautiful
Awesome colors from KbShimmer. I might have to pick up a few of these. Thanks for the swatches. Are you going to do the new Zoya polishes?Would love to see what they look like on the nail.
I love this whole collection so much! My only disappointment is that the November polish (my birthstone - Citrine) is so yellow, I really dislike it. Citrines are a lot more orange toned.
+hannahmw19 I am sorry you are disapointed. There are several color variations of citrine, and when looking at the citrine gemstones in person "golden citrine" was our choice as going oranger made the polish look too gold or pumpkin orange.
I about crapped myself and died when I saw these on their news letter. So, I was SO freaking happy to see this video! These are amaze balls! One question though! Are these the same kind of polishes as ILNP Fame and Shore line and Money Bin and all those? Are these just like them? I'm just curious. Those are my favorite kind of ILNP polishes and these seem to be very similar.
This collection is sooooooooo amazing. I'm definitely going to get a few, especially ruby and pink tourmaline (my bday is in April as well, lol, but I don't care)
Love these! I have some KB shimmer points I need to use, so I may pick up a few! How does Garnet compare to Yule Worthy from KB shimmers winter 2015 collection? Yule worthy is my current favorite polish, and the formula and finish seems similar to these birthstone polishes. Awesome swatches as usual!
I always appreciate your reviews. Have you ever included in your reviews about the longevity of the polishes you review? I recently purchased some insanely holo polishes from a company called Superchic Lacquer. Great colors, great pigmentation, absolutely lousy wearing. Tried it for two weeks in a row and at first thought it was a new top coat I was trying. So I used all my tried and true top coats (including a UV top coat) and it was nothing but chip chip chip, all the way. I was so disappointed. I only do my nails once a week so longevity is important to me. Hoping you can fit that into your reviews. Thanks! Rose
+Bubby Dumas I'm just replying b/c I bought 3 of the polishes from Superchic that you're referring to. This is not to bash at all - the polishes are gorgeous and seem to be nice quality. I will still use them. But, OMG they chipped on me terribly. I used the green one for my toes and hands on the same day. Literally within 6 hours I chipped 2 fingers. I redid each finger throughout that week w/ different base and top costs w/ chipping in the same day. My toes lasted less than a week. Mine are already separating so there is heavy pigment in there. I'm afraid to try to use other bases b/c I didn't get staining last time and don't want to next time. I don't know if it's across the board or just a select few of us w/ body chemistry that just doesn't cooperate w/ those.
+Bubby Dumas I don't usually mention it too much in my reviews for a couple of reasons. One being that it's all subjective to individual body chemistry, top and base coat combination, and what kind of work a person does with their hands on a day to day basis. For example, I can't get more than a day or two out of ANY polish before it starts chipping. The other reason is that by the time I did a wear test on each polish, the video would be posted wayyyy too late.
+Lu Abuzaid The finish is pretty much the same (these might be a bit more holographic), but I don't think any of the colors (at least off the top of my head) are dupes :)
These are super beautiful. My birthstone is Ruby.. I love it!! Citrine is amazingly odd. I love it. Nice collection KBShimmer. I will be ordering :-) YaaaY! Thanks Jess. By the way I'm sure you've said it in a video before but I missed it. What's the meaning of nine zero?
I read that you don't paint to the edges of your nail to keep the remover from damaging your skin while swatching; but do you still find that the remover damages your nails & skin from constantly changing polishes? If not what remover do you use? & if so what tips or tricks if any do you have to prevent damage & dried out brittle nails, skin & cuticles? & 1 last question -after which I will leave you alone I promise😋-would you consider doing a tutorial highlighting those tips, tricks & routines?
+Crystal Conner I avoid the sides to keep the polish from staining the skin. I have a few videos talking about nail care and removes, but I do use pure acetone to clean around my nails. I just moisturize a lot afterwards. Whenever I can, I try to use a non-acetone remover when changing polish to be a little easier on my skin.
+jessFACE90 Thank you! I will search your archives & thanks for the review I just had to get the pink tourmaline when I saw it on you but I ended up getting 3 other kb shimmers too😋‼️ I got "Rollin' with Chromies" last summer & "Stonewashed" for Christmas this past year & you are correct the formula is some of the best I've used. Highly recommend Stonewashed if you don't have it. It's a beautiful blue cream unlike any I've seen (& I have atleast 45 blue polishes love blue) it reminds me of stormy dark ocean water in the early morning.
I need these lol I have my bday in Jan, my sister in May my other sister in Sept, my little sister in June and both of my parents in Oct (and there anniversary is in the last day of December (31)
+Alice Fitzgerald I rarely did nail art to begin with, I'm not too great at it. I post nail art videos when I have something I really like, that I think I can do well, that hasn't been done 1000x already...so it's not common :)
I watched your OPI Favourites video and you said you loved OPI DS Tourmaline. As soon as I saw it, I knew I needed to order it for my friend who loves pink and loves glitter. Between this KB Shimmer Pink Tourmaline and the OPI one, which would you recommend? I always watch all of your videos by the way! Love your reviews and how thorough you are and love your beautiful swatches. I'm pretty much a die-hard Essie fan, but these swatches were so pretty I may just have to order Ruby (my birthstone) and a few others as birthday gifts for friends :)
+jessFACE90 ok not comparable, but between the two if you could only have ONE which would you pick? Which one is the sparkliest or prettiest or whatever?
+Lizzie W I think a lot of the decisions came down to figuring out what stone could be put in polish form without looking too similar to another one :)
crap. I might have to buy them all (I won't but at least half). I haven't been this impressed by an entire collection in a while. Pink tourmaline is my birthstone (though I was hoping for Opal) so I have to buy it for sure
This is easily the most unique and original indie collection I've ever seen. Finally I'm impressed. I need like...every single one! They're STUNNING!!!!
+latina7292 Thanks for watching!
+jessFACE90 I don't remember Black Pearl being a Birthstone
i need them all! i've seen different renditions of birthstone collections, too, and by far KBShimmer has knocked this one out of the park! great swatches, Jess! xoxo

Wow this collection is stunning!! Thanks for the video, great swatches as always! +Sarala Speaks Thanks for watching!
This is a brilliant collection--in part because of the awesome finish of these polishes, and also because we all are going to want to get our birth month! Between this and the ILNP holiday collection, I like that this type of polish is becoming a trend.

OMG!! These are so pretty!! I what them all, especially emerald since its my birthstone!!!
I thought October birthstone was an opal? I was looking forward to an opal polish :) oh well, they were all beautiful.
+Stacia Hill Me too! Opal's my birthstone and I was looking forward to seeing one saying how sparkly the rest of the collection was.

+vendettapopetta Similar finish, slightly more holographic, no dupes in color :)
Awesome colors from KbShimmer. I might have to pick up a few of these. Thanks for the swatches. Are you going to do the new Zoya polishes?Would love to see what they look like on the nail.
+Jackie Bodick Yep, that video will be up next week.

this collection is beautiful, really.
Blue Topaz is amazing, aaaand i was born in december so it makes it even better

+Miss Alyss1414 Yes, the formula and finish are the same. Garnet is lighter and more on the red side :)
How do these compare to the ILNP Precious Metals? (Such as Juliette, Time in a Bottle, Cherry Luxe etc).
These are amazing!! I need all of them!
+ManisbyMoore Thanks for watching!
I always appreciate your reviews. Have you ever included in your reviews about the longevity of the polishes you review? Yes!! Same here! Got their gorgeous holo red and it chipped the same day with top coat!! So disappointing.
LOVE THESE! will def be getting a bunch..i DID just get the ILNP holiday collection..would u say these are very similar?
+Lu Abuzaid The finish is pretty much the same (these might be a bit more holographic), but I don't think any of the colors (at least off the top of my head) are dupes :)
My birthstone is diamond too, but my favourite is emerald.
Merry Christmas Jess!! I totally agree with the other comments - KBShimmer wins again!! And again your swatch video has sold me on all of them!
+ThePaulahoo1 Merry Christmas! Thanks for watching!
Aquamarine is my birthstone but of these my favorites were Garnet and Blue Topaz. :D
+nannybannany Thanks for watching!

I swear I'm going to go broke because of watching your videos! looveeee this colection I'm going to have to buy it!! you're a great swatcher!
+44ddrea Thank you!

I am also a diamond baby! April 16th! 😊💎
hollly molll'yyyyyyyy !!!!! is there a price set for the 12 polish ! i neeeeedd them all

black pearl and pink tourmaline? Nooooo. I really wanted white pearl or alexandrite for june and opal for october....
+tardigrada6000 No one ever does Alexandrite for June. They always sub in pearl, maybe moonstone, and it's just disappointing.
I loved all of them. I'm a December baby.
they are all beautiful and amazing!!!!! i wish i could get them but i live in Poland :(
+Polish & Beautiful Thanks for watching!
I wish that they did alexandrite for June. Pearl and alexandrite are the stones, but I'm not a fan of the 'black' pearl idea
However, I do think that the black pearl was a pretty color
+A Creates Thanks for watching!
+jessFACE90 I love your Chanel!
thank you very much for a💜 job.😍
+Elza Dzhakaeva Thanks for watching!
LOVE IT!
Thanks for watching!
I know the November birthstone is both citrine and topaz, but topaz would've looked much better for this collection
+Lizzie W I think a lot of the decisions came down to figuring out what stone could be put in polish form without looking too similar to another one :)
***** true
Dont worry, i think most December babies are used to people forgetting them LOL. literally all of my friends forget about my December birthday haha!
Uhhh....watching these videos are pure torture!
My heart screams YES!! but my bank account says a sad, forlorn no.....:(
+Elizabeth Colours Thanks for watching!
The only one I don't like is my own birth stone which is peridot :( the rest of the collection is amazing though.

Pink tourmaline is my birthstone (though I was hoping for Opal) so I have to buy it for sure
