there are a lot of talented folks out there like him in RUclips in their respective fields .. Wesley Kagan, BuilderCeator are some that comes to mind .. lets appreciate their skills than comparing each other :)
My experience converting a steering gearbox to steering rack showed me that the ratio of tie rod end position to steering axis center-line was much different. The rack work distance was much shorter than the box so converting without changing the distance made the steering much slower. Something to consider. Great project
Great project, Great video. Did you consider using a VRP Supercharger Kit? With your ECU will you be able to do a real time Dyno tune or only a complete flash?
I would not have cut up the dash bar. I would either cut it out and flip it around or if it isn’t symmetrical enough front to back made a completely new dash bar. This is depending on if you are reinstalling the original instruments and glovebox as to wether you either flip or remake. Also even Mercedes raid the parts bin from OE suppliers so the ideal steering rack might be sitting under a dodge caravan or a Jeep.
And please never use an angle grinder without the protective cover. These things can explode and half a grinder disc in your face is not the best look i can imagine...
Here's a tip for you, order a outer tie rods from kia sephia1 these will fit perfectly on the nockels.i've done it on my car when i converted it,but i have an issue with bumpsteer since i done it, i will see how you going to fix it.
yeah, it might _fit_ but *it ain't gonna work right.* you should watch dude's old videos talking about calculating all the suspension geometry components: part 1: watch?v=VbReLNi2JP4 part 2: watch?v=oh535De4hKg and his video on ackerman/anti-ackerman steering geometries: watch?v=YVisLuiU-Oo peace
Y'all do some pretty huge projects really, makes me wish I had more money so I could send my own stuff over for work :P Making an old Cadillac look normal but drive like a modern car would have been an interesting sleeper, but it did make me wonder, how much is it possible to modernize an old engine? would it be possible to take an older engine and basically make it more like a modern one? or are modern ones constructed differently? as in the block having different construction, like paths for fuel or oil and the like? or is that all in the heads? Kinda curious as I do kinda wonder if it's possible to modernize the 8.2 liter V8 in my car, a Cadillac 500cid, so weak due to the oil crisis, but so huge... there might be untapped potential there, but I wouldn't even know where to begin in attempting anything, beyond maybe a Holley EFI kit or the like.
No. The C63 has a really stupid scavenging system that pumps oil from the back of the sump and dumps it in the front of the sump where the oil pickup is. The S63 doesn't have a rear bowl in the sump so it doesn't have the scavenging stage. Much simpler and more reliable.
At first I was like "but you can't flip the steering rack, it's gonna make the car steer the other way" Then when the steering arm locations behind the wheel were mentioned all clicked into place.
I think if the montages have better music and shoots views would go up, Maybe something like Travarish. This channel needs to get bigger so we have more content oh and thumbnails, some vids have thumbnails that look generic. If i didn't have my notifications on for this channel i might pass some vids without knowing
Why use the ugly US bumpers? R107 bumpers are pretty common new and used . Same with the bumper support Structure (console in mercedes speak ) they are available new because tgry are often rusted outv.
Putting а bar under a rack, to relocate pivot points of steering rods is not a good idea, because of bending (rotating) moments that will come to the rack...((
the LHD rack in a RHD won't work. The wheels will go the wrong way (ie turn right will make the car turn left). If the LHD rack, which is designed to be behind the axle centreline, is flipped and then put in front of the axle centreline (like where the original links were), then it will work. But leaving it in its designed position but flipping it is wrong.
But he's using a front rack in a rear application. So they move the opposite way already. Flipping will correct it. You think these guys would make a mistake like that?
@@1one3_Racing yes, seems you're right. Was glossed over very quickly in the video without much explanation. Had to watch it again with the subtitles turned on at around the 10 min mark. You'd hope not, but everybody makes mistakes sometimes :)
It's really impressive what you do, but I wish if you can let people know about your routes that like who you are where you come from originally how you come to this business, who was your idol in automotive industry etc...I belive its not a personal data 😉 but it will be motivate. More people..
any updates on this project? it’s nearly a year now
This man cannot be stopped. I defy anyone to name somebody with more talent and skill on RUclips.
I was just thinking that!! He is the BOB ROSS of this shit!!!

Seeing you for 5 times in a month is so impressive and feels good!
Please make an update video. I’m undertaking a similar building and this has been a great help. Putting the c230 w203 M111 in my w123.
Can't wait for part 5
Is this project going to be finished ????
Great job, is there a video of the finished project?
I'd suggest you to put the start button on the center console, that will look cool.

yes, the knuckles will need to be modded, probably
Have you seen this guy's ASL build, built in his garage? I don't think you qualify to bring steering issues to his attention.
Great project, Great video. Did you consider using a VRP Supercharger Kit? With your ECU will you be able to do a real time Dyno tune or only a complete flash?
I need the next video asap!! Any ETA on the next one?
That's a tonne of hard work. Very impressed.
Such a cool series I love it ✊🏽
Looking forward to the next video. Your steering geometry videos were the first videos I watched on your channel.

Would it not have been easyer to do a bodyswap and start with an righthand drive?
I hope that you will use the old steering wheel cause its iconic
Hi. I thought you guys had delivered the SEC to the customer?
Welcome new guy w mask on, who doesn't wanna get infected by those two's crazy ideas. He came all prepared 😜😉🤪
Maybe stupid question. But if you deleted a part of the oil pump (the gear) doesnt it makes less pressure? (Just asking)
He Just Took off Scavenging Side of The Pump. The Main Side Which Generates Actual Pressure Is Still There.
No. The C63 has a really stupid scavenging system that pumps oil from the back of the sump and dumps it in the front of the sump where the oil pickup is. The S63 doesn't have a rear bowl in the sump so it doesn't have the scavenging stage. Much simpler and more reliable.
Aaah okay! Thanks!:)
I have a w219 cls63. I want a s65 v12 in it. Can this be done?
wasn't it possible to use the complete front subframe from the donor car?
I wonder which modern Mercedes engine might have been easier to fit with less modifications... M112 maybe?
I'm thinking the owner decided to cut their losses and abandon the project?
Good job my brother
What about heat management ?
If Stefan makes you look small how tall is rich?!?
AFTERNOON ALL ,wgen can we expect and update ........PLEASE>>>??????//
Has it been a year waiting ?
Any updates? Also however much this person is paying you is not enough.
Would love to know what happened???
I love R107s
I'm here already, in 11 sec
I've emailed you about a 113k into W124 build. Do you monitor your inbox?
Are you exporting car to RHD country.
Its going to England, I think he said
Where is project sl
Part5 please🙏🙏
Have you guys thought about Tesla swapping a Mercedes? That’d be awesome. Also great work guys keep it up
Do heim joints on the suspension links
Its a road car.
Ball joints don't transfer anywhere near as much vibration through the wheel, they also require service, whereas ball joints don't.
Rod end suspension

No any update more than 8 months project stop.
UPDATE???? Are you still working on the 630SL project????
@@andrewa.7521 Same question I think project stop.
Wow that oil pan sits low to the ground
What happened to this project

Y would you make it harder to drive

Sweet music lol
Time to do this to a Japanese only car to confuse people

dude you need a bigger shop.
Let's have the music form the credits throughout videos instead of electro-guitar noodle tunes.
I wanna meet dis Taliban guy

Broooo where is part 5? Can't wait to see what this looks like when it's finished.
I CAN'T FIND THE PART 5 . DID YOU EVER COMPLETE IT OR
That's a seriously complex transformation and you are just zipping through it like a Sunday afternoon. Brilliant car when it's finished.
