Id use my cartier tank because i want to be a fancy zombie
Lol
If mummies are just zombies with a fashion choice, why wouldn't we be fancy zombies
Could be the shortest video ever.
G Shock - Done
Interested to see what else could keep up
My first choice is a G-shock
EMP and a G shock is a nice bracelet
@@derekshearer9049 wouldn't EMP be strong enough to magnetize even anti-magnetic shielding in automatics? Just asking
@@MammothBehemoth. Yes but the automatic could be demagnetized where as the digital would be toast....
@@derekshearer9049 oh, yeah. Unless you dont have a demagnetizer on hand. I do prefer analog automatics but I guess, no harm to have both in an apocalypse. Even if I wouldnt be bothered to buy a G-shock, it does have some useful features
I have a Seiko with a Kinetic movement I bought in 2003 and still going strong on the same capacitor.
I bought one about the same time and it still runs well also.
My apocalypse watch is a Seiko Kinetic Tuna .
I'll stay with the Casio World Time. Those batteries last 10 years and are faaar easier to get and change than a capacitor. You could vacuum-seal a few of them and it will barely take up any space or weight. Do the same with a replacement gasket and have a tiny tube of silicone grease plus almost any small screwdriver around and you basically have a complete repair kit, the whole package plus watch will cost you 30 bucks. And you don't look crazy beforehand.
I've had my Datejust for 47 years it's been through a lot think I'd just keep it !
Hey junior. I’m curious how many times (if any). You’ve had it serviced? Thanks!
Gotta be Marathon Gsar, tritium lume and completely robust and badass! Ultimate survival almost watch, also the Sinn U1
Tessa marathon very good choice
Tegimented Sinn U1
Only watch nerds want lume. If you ever have to fight or do dangerous things lume is a killer. Ever wonder why spec ops and swat types only wear g shocks
What a great concept, so entertaining that keeps us watch geeks get through these days. keep up the good work!
My Citizen Nighthawk. Slide rule for calculations, durable as hell (mechanic, I’ve been beating it for 5 years now) and goes with anything from tactical gear to a tailored suit.
Only weakness is that it is not a sapphire crystal. The apocalypse looks scratchy.
Gshock Rangeman 9400. End of Discussion.
Cool story bro but Rangeman 9400 comes with a defective case that eventually cracks.
G shock would be definitely one of the answer. Was right. My vote actually goes to the basic G5600E. Simply and lightweight. Last forever.
Citizen divers with Ecodrive would be another GREAT alternative.
Post apocalyptic world where you can still service watches if there is any survivors. Cheap Hand winding or Automatic will ultimately wins in terms of serviceability. Unless someone retains the production of solar capacitors and quartz, Mechanicals still wins it in long term maintenance in post apocalypse world.
I would say, ETA or Unitas for Handwinding, Seiko entry level automatics Nh35A. Or even Seagull st19 for chronos. Inhouse movements are simply too costly to repair or service.
Promaster Tough from Citizen
Your standard for chosing watches is right on the mark!! The so-called "zombie apocalypse" scenario is sort of what I contemplate when picking a watch as well.
That's why I immediately gravitate toward G-SHOCK. I got the GW-7900B (blackout) version about 3 or 4 years ago. I've pretty much worn it everyday, and it looks it!! G-SHOCK makes some of the world's best!
g Shock with Solar,Normal g shock will need batteries
@@cannibalronny7314 👍
Plastic in gshock - bad idea
My top 3: marathon JDD, sinn U2, & G-SHOCK gwg-1000 mudmaster
Never heard of that Tissot model before. Fantastic time piece and great video.
I love the Seiko Kinetic but the real question is- Will quarts watches survive an EMP?
The question is: why do I need a watch in apocalypse
Great video Chris. All great options. IM0, SeL Instruments Onni Diver is the current king of tough watches.
Got one, I bought a clock for the wrist 3 or 4 years ago, Casio G Shock GPW1000T-1A. Still have it , stopped wearing it since it created to much drag when using it for motorcycling. My second choice would be my Dark Side of the Moon with strategically applied Duct tape around the pushers! Black duct tape no less.
skx will be my choice. also any casio gshock dw5600 model (preferably, the ones with negative display).
This is literally the funniest watch video I’ve seen . Also very informative.
I'm sure I'm late to the party. I'd say a Kinetic watch because if the sun were to go out, your solar watch wouldn't work. Also, water resistant up to 200 meters. Quartz, the battery would die. Automatic, you'd need to get it serviced. I think that's it for my 2 cents.
I'd take the only watch actually tested under Apocalyse condition, i.e. the Seiko Willard from Apocalypse Now.
Apocalypse now!!! Very good choice!
Cool video! I loved that "AD" picture!
Great video!!!!! Lots of fun. I'm heading to Amazon now. That Tissot is Beautiful
Bookmarked for future purposes.
Hahaha lol
Great choices my man. But why would we need to tell the time after the end of the world. It’s not like we are going to miss any appointments 🤣🤣🤣. Although I must admit killing zombies while wearing a A Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk would be awesome. Great video as always my friend.
For soft boiling eggs...
This is the topic I love, thats why I have Gshock models GWN-1000 and GBD-H1000, I love this tough watches perfect for this situation 😁😁
I’d go regular Pelagos. 500m , big but not too big. Bracelet adjustable for wearing in a variety of conditions.
This was such a fun video! New subscriber here! This is exactly what type of watch I am shopping for! An apocalypse watch!
Solar powered G-Shock would be my first pick.
Victorinox Inox - They boiled it and froze it. Think a tank drove over it. Then again, any Steeldive tuna homage would likely survive. Grab a few of them...good to go. No need for an alarm...not like u need to get up to go into work...LOL Mine survived a trip down the road and slid off the roof of my car and into the ditch. Buffed the scratch off the aftermarket clasp.
I have many in the collection that fit the bill. The one I have been wearing the most lately is the Seiko Arnie, solar ana-digi, dive bezel, 200m iso...
Wearing it right now and ready for anything.
Very cool choice for the end of times 😎
Helm Vanuatu. Absolute beast. Doubles up as a weapon 🤣
I would strongly advise to avoid any automatic watch in a survival situation. I found out the hard way that their mecanism don’t sustain the shocks of shooting with a 12 gauge double barrel, which is like the most polyvalent round out here. Been practicing trap shooting for an afternoon as a total newbie, shot around 200 rounds that day. After that, my automatic watch was running like a tractor, loosing more than two hours a week. Newbie mistake, which I put out there so others don’t make it.
That was fun, but you missed the Vostok Amphibia. Durable beyond durable, long living, easily acquired albeit not at that AD
What's your opinion on the Victorinox inox pro diver?
Citizen Ray Mears watch. Titanium, super tough, super reliable and eco drive.
Yes a very good choice
Not familiar with the watch but if it gets the Ray Mears seal of approval it's good enough for me!
The waitlist for a 41mm subby gets much shorter in the apocalypse...but the GShock waitlist....infinite!
Fun way to look at watches. Subscribed !
I've got my Rolex 14060M and G-Shock mudman. Feeling ready for the apocalypse
Very entertaining....good stuff....
Haha 😆very interesting topic, I think the solar with 200m water resistant watches is a better choice, because the good mechanical watches need carry out the service after 3 to 5 years, the regular quartz watches need battery changed from 2 to 5 years, only the solar watches can last for 10 years with out maintenance.
And that was not difficult to choose from solar G shock, Citizen promaster, or Seiko solar tuna.
need part 2!!
Thanks for the video, interesting choices. I have a G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400-1, which should be able to stand up to nearly anything like the Mudman you showed, but has a few more features, minus the moon phase. I would love to get an automatic watch as I'm impressed by the engineering that goes into them, but am put off by the costly servicing needed. Solar is my first choice.
How about an Archimede Outdoor 39 Protect
Smartwatches will be good idea?
I have a Citizen EcoDrive, day/date/moon phase solar 100m. F.P.Journe has a badass quartz, I think it has a 18 year standby mode. Give or take. btw, do you ever review invicta’s? 🤣 no offense but I’ve not seen many of your reviews to know.
You forgot about the Citizen ProMaster Tough
I love my Marathon watch, 39mm with the tritium, it is the perfect watch in my opinion...
Tritium will light up if zombies are watching you with night vision.
@@hb9145 If zombies have night vision, we're all in serious trouble....
There could be other interesting features to include in the watches like having a mile marker built into the watch because maps would probably start to come back or having a telometer? There could be a cool sequel to this video. 😊
Vostok Amphibia. It is nukeproof! And it costs 75 dollars.
I say Gshock GD350. It has a vibration alarm! So to not alert the zombies.
Haha very good idea!
gwg1000 would be my pick!
Know what else has “moon-phase”? The moon. Look up.
I’d grab any solar g-shock as well. Thanks for the video!
Lol very good point
hahahahaha
Brilliant vid
I have been using Gshock g5600 the tough solared and it has 20bar or 200m which very useful you dont have to change the battery and worry about breaking it cause its small, compactable and it also feels you are not wearing anything which also lightwight good for running
GWN Q1000
Golf master
I think it will be ideal.
Casio world timer is less than 30$ and would work great in an apocalypse
Awesome! Make a new version of this video, curious!
The G shock gwg 2000 should be the first one you get 😉
Citizens Pro Master Tough Eco-Drive tough as hell.
Any Vostok Amphibia.
I'd just replace the acrylic with flat sapphire or even mineral so i dont have to worry about it if I'm in a situation surrounded by flames
@@MammothBehemoth. If l'm surrounded by flames there is more to worry about than my watch crystal.... 😂
@@derekshearer9049 Vostoks Amphibias are tanks. It'll be a pity to loose it in a fire. It would be nice to have them even a soft-apocalypse like this. I'm just waiting for them to re-stock the models I wanted
Bad QC funny vostok? No!!
@@deanagoes2791. I own many. I speak from experience, and you?
Also CASIO timepieces only use long life batteries not capacitors.
G-shock mudmaster ggb100 is the ultimate zombie apocalypse watch to have
The ultimate test for an Apocalypse Survival watch is of course: Does the watch stand the the approval test of Paul Pluta aka Archieluxury, the Australian zombie with the two horns.
Wait a minute you dropped a Rolex Sub and a JLC as an apocalypse watch and never mentioned the most bad ass watch the Breitling Emergency! What the heck.
The emergency would t work in the apocalypse the signal would go unheard and it doesn't have a long life on the battery....
Yeah I guess your right. Still a bad ass watch. Fun topic!
@@michaelriera6277 oh for sure it's bad ass
How I wish all the watch mention in this video would be made into one watch all the specs and pros, and name it as an apocalypse watch sounds better.
Gotta be honest, I would consider wearing my rolex since it is built like a tank and doesnt need a battery. Plus its waterproof up to 300m. Then again, not very grayman
g=shock GMW B5000 Ti. End of the World in style.
This was a great video Chris! That Tissot seastar was insane! I think if it was me, I would take a Square G-Shock solar, and my Hamilton Khaki Auto on the bracelet if I needed to get dressed up to kill some zombies!
What about a Compass? It will never go bad!
A solar g shock fits all the rules you listed
Solar watch? In many apocalyptic scenarios there be nuclear winter in nuclear event may not have enough sunlight just saying love your videos and your personal collection
Good point. However outside of that a solar would work...
Having killer lume or tritium tubes may be a bad thing if you need to hide from zombies.
Yea true...
I don't think so because zombies have no brain.
Yes it has to look badass !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love my G Shock Rangman 9400
Solar? Chris, haven't you heard that when apocalypse comes, the sun will explode?
Crap didn't think of that !!!
Sun explodes, we die, problem solved 😂
Seiko sunp2
* 100m underwater
* solar powered
* compas
* GMT
* around $350
Very good choice
Casio G-Shock are the ultimate survival watches
There’s really only two kinds of watches for this list: tough solar or kinetic quartz watches or a Rolex (so you can barter in what pockets of civilization that still exists).
Why would you need 200m of water resistance? Surly 2m would be enough?
The Seiko Arnie
The only time you’ll need to know is survival time I don’t care what day or time it is because it’s either day or night
Sapphire glass? … if you scratch up the screen in a zombie attack, no amount of functions matters
12:36 I bet it wouldn’t survive the JAB💉 😂😳
Gshock mudmaster
8 people are on the rolex waiting list
Lol
BB58 or Pelagos
For sure very similar reasons to the submariner!
Forgot to mention Marathon as well like the quartz mid size or automatic diver.
nuclear blast would wipe out electronics so the g shock would probably not work
lol seals are suunto/g shock, as most spec ops are
SKX for the win! just kidding lets go Gothier!
no rubber strap..it will tear down before tomorrow
It's a good thing you add a few more inexpensive watches towards the end of your video. Otherwise, I would have thought your video was for rich people.
SEIKO
You’ll have to settle for a two tone datejust unless you find the key 🔑 for the safe in the back (Rolex AD)!
Lol that's what I thought also... But I think we could find the key....
Very timely video hahahaha
Lol yea been thinking of this one for a while
Sorry, but absolutely NOTHING can bet the G-shock GW-9400 Rangeman and the GWG-1000 Mudmaster for the Apocalypse watches!
Technically - all those quartz and digital watches will not last long in an apocalypse. Why? - You need battery to keep it running.
Only mechanical and automatic watches that are water resistant and water proof will survive for year. Imagine having a digital watch die on you in the middle of nowhere.
Solar power use capacitors and lasts for 20+ years on some citizens including one I have that's over 30! Id take a eco-drive over a auto any day! You forget to set the time when it stops your done for or drop it.
if it's apocalypse then why need a watch anyway?to wake up and go to the office
Watches actually become useful in an apocalypse now that you cant just use your phone to tell the time. Knowing how much more sunlight you have when out and about is immensely helpful
i think you need to look up the origan of that word because thats not what it means
you need just 2, Casio Rangeman GPRB1000, Casio mudmaster GWG 1000. Both of these watches eat the ones mentioned here for breakfast :P
