Those 'touch' buttons on the steering wheel are mechanical too. You can depress them and they click in and out. So you can choose to touch or press. I sat in the non sports back Q4 Etron yesterday. Dash is the best of any EV I have test driven so far.
I have one on order as a company car. I tried the ID4 (awful interior/tech) and Enyaq (much better and huge boot) as well as the Ionic 5 (fantastic car but not practical enough for me). I went for the Q4 as for me it is actually cheaper than all of the others I tried based on monthly payments/tax I pay. It is strange as against an Enyaq with the same spec it’s about £8K more list price so if I was a private buyer would definitely go for the Skoda. The Q4 though was very comfortable to drive, quick enough and practical enough for me and why wouldn’t I get an Audi for less than a Skoda?
I finally got to see and sit in an ID4 in person a few weeks ago. It’s easy to see where the extra money went. You are right, if you enjoy driving in a nice environment, this is the one to get.

reviewing a car is a personalised opinion. For me that car looks more cool that what you are comparing it to and also its about longevity and resale value too. So I’m 6 weeks in to having the q4 e-tron vorsprung, so top line I’m pleased. There are however some issues which having now researched are not new and are a known issue for nearly a year! Questions to ask the dealer before you buy; - show me the Audi app and what I can do remotely? (you will be surprised by lack of functionality) - show me how to set up user profiles? When you say that you can get an id.4 for much cheaper, how much cheaper is it in the UK? Here in the US, the most basic Q4 e-tron availalbe is the "premium", which has awd, leather interior and costs $51,095 (including shipping). To get an ID.4 with AWD and leather interior, you have to pick the mid-grade version, the awd "pro, S" which costs $50,605. So the VW is $490 cheaper than the Audi. Not much at all.
Am I missing something? Audi, Skoda, VW (and Seat) have been platform sharing for decades. Audi always have the interior, vw the better chassis setup, Skoda and seat not far off. Nothings changed here? Agree with the touch buttons, a horrible idea, but at least there’s some proper buttons still. Crazy but this direction of buttonless interiors puts me off buying a new car. The q4 at least is ok in this regard, but the Skoda Enyaq relies on a big touch screen
I would imagine not many people are going out to pay cash for their ID4/Enyaq/Q4, more likely they will be doing some sort of finance/salary sacrifice where the monthly payments are what matters. When I was ordering through my work the ID4 first edition, Enyaq 80 and Q4 40 S-Line were within £5 a month of each other. For me that was close enough to make the choice down to personal preferences. I preferred the looks of the Audi (not a sportback), and the MMI seemed more slick and less buggy than the ID4 and Enyaq (though updated since may have helped?). Also liked the HVAC having physical buttons. I got my Q4 in November and it’s been great so far. It even has a boring round steering wheel(video on my channel if you want to see- all the review ones seem to be the hexagonal one)😆 Good luck if you want to order one though- I believe you’ll have to wait around a year for delivery 😬
I just had a test drive on 2022 Q4 e-tron US version. Nice and smoothly. Therefore, the mark-up 15K on top of $62532 + some extra that bring the car price around $80000 I will wait for Lexus EV SUV coming out 2023
Tried a Tiguan with those horrible steering wheel buttons once. They are truly horrific. Was looking at the Q4 e-tron (to replace my A6) but not any more.

Just like the mustang Mach E they trying to claim as a crossover. NO! It's a hatchback mustang that you electrified and made ugly as crap.
Great video. This Audi is very beautiful. Love the design. Would put at the top of the class for me. It’s that even that much more than the ID4 and Enyaq, so I’d pay for Audi

Let's be real, this is not an Audi, it's made by VW using cheap and nasty materials, there is even painted metal inside the passenger compartment. This could have been a class leader but Audi have cut back on standard equipment so much it's not competitive. There isn't any standard equipment to speak of, everything is extra cost. Don't be fooled by the press cars, they have all of the extras. The things you really need are hidden in the option packs. You won't get the reversing camera - which you need, the electrically adjustable seats, the adjustable boot floor, no front parking sensors, no rear armrest, only one reversing light, no dynamic indicators - even basic VWs have those now and no rear light bar which could have been a great advertisement for Audi by every car on on the road. Just do a comparison of standard equipment with other Audi's to see what you are missing.
It has been that way for a few decades now, on ICE cars they simply tuned the engine outputs to be slightly different, or in some cases put exhaust pipes on the left and right on the Audi and bunch them on one side on a VW, the car with separated pipes always gave a better demonstration of being powerful even if they have similar performance.
I really don’t understand how European EV will be able to compete with Tesla, and the new Korean and Chinese manufacturers in the future.
