Hi Robert, Kieran Maxwell here, you got me on to reading it, I've only read the first few chapters, the opening chapters on Our Lady are unbelievable, I am now looking at our Lady in such a different way, in a more beautiful way! Loving it🙏🏻

The book has many sspx advocates, however there are disagreements. Bishop Williamson used to recommend reading it. It seems to have caused a fascinating debate.

Testimony from science about "The Poem of Man-God"
Dr. Vittorio Tredeci, geologist and mineralogist, Italy (1952):
. "I want to emphasize the inexplicable precision of the author's knowledge of Palestine in its panoramic, topographic, geological and mineralogical aspects."
7.- Testimony from the story about "The Poem of Man-God"
Jean Aulagnier, a renowned specialist in calendars of antiquity, wrote in 1995 a book about Valtorta's work:
. "Having established a scientific chronology of all the events and occurrences in María Valtorta's work, I can only say that it continues to be inexplicable in another way outside of divine intervention."

I read all 10 volumes probably more than twice. It is great to invest in the books.
The story wich stayed in my memory is the woman caught in the act of adultery. Most of the time people think it is Mary Magdalena. But it is not. Simply because she was never married so she could not commit adultery.
The woman in the story is another person. And what was sad in the end of this story is she didn't repent. Jesus said when apostoles ask him about her is something like I didn't come as a saviour for everyone ( not all will accept my sacrifice) woman decided to sin again.
There are many beautiful stories which explains so well stories from the bible. Gamalilel story is beautiful too how he converted when Christ was crusified.
Love it so beautiful to read. Jesus responses to many questions i find excellent ( hard to come up with on human level) please do read and you will understand 😊

Very interesting comments. Here in Italy I've found, especially among traditional Catholics, a great consideration about Maria Valtorta. Don Ernesto Zucchini is one of the big experts along with the editor Giovanni Zenone PhD. from Verona city who I personally met.

I was fascinated by the speeches of Jesus and his conversation with the Greeks who wanted Him in Greece where he will be respected. And the little boy with the loaves and fishes who became St. Martial, first bishop of Limoges in western France. The Valtorta revelation is high adventure from start to finish. Throw away your fiction novels and read Valtorta. You will be educated at the level of the Twelve Apostles. It is Christianity from the Fountainhead.

Yes to all of this! It really is an adventure. Getting to know Anna and Joachim; Zachariah and Elizabeth; Mary and Joseph; the Shepherds; the Apostles; Lazarus, Martha, and Mary; Joanna and Chuza; and all of the others who come along the way. These people come alive. Before they were names, vague characters whose history, personality, and physicality were up for interpretation by the reader. Now I can see them as real people.
I’ve fallen more deeply in love with not only Jesus and Mary through The Poem, but with Saints Peter, Andrew, and John as well! This work can make your soul long for Heaven to be with Jesus and Mary but also to be with those who loved him in the Gospels. I’m finding that I’m asking many New Testament Saints for their intercession more than I ever have before.

@@amberdv8796 I hope to see a revival of interest in this massive work. I did not know my Faith till I read every graphic detail of Christ's days among earth's people. A gift from Heaven surpassing in value the Dead Sea scrolls. It is the Gospel reiterated in bright vivid colors. Deep theological questions are explained in clear understandable words that even a child could understand what Jesus is saying. When I first started reading it, a deep spiritual emotion overwhelmed me, to assure me, that this was indeed the authentic life of Christ Jesus. It fulfills the prophecy of Ezekiel that God would intervene directly and feed His sheep. Ez 34:14.

I would like to recommend a book by the late Archbishop Fulton Sheen:
    'Life of Christ '.
This book is a moving recounting of the birth, life, Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Blessed Lord.
It is ultra safe: it bears an Imprimatur from Cardinal Francis Spellman, Archbishop of New York. His Eminence granted the Imprimatur on August 1st, 1958.
Robert says that the work of Valtorta was recommended by the Alleged Apparitions at Medugorge. I simply want to point out that Medugorge IS NOT APPROVED. Unlike, Guadeloupe, Fatima and Lourdes.
In 2017, on tbe main Italian TV station, RAI UNO, in a wide ranging interview, the Holy Father was asked what he thought of Medugorge. He replied "The Holy Mother of God, is not a postwoman delivering messages at the exact same time everyday. "
Let us pray for the ultimate canonization of Archbishop Sheen. Some of his talks on American TV are on RUclips.

I read the life of Christ by Fulton Sheen in seminary. I recommend you read the Poem of the Man-God. The greatest book on the life of Christ ever written. Of course it can never form part of divine revelation, but it can help a lot

@@dermotquigley356 I’m sure that is a good recommendation and thank you. The Imprimatur is a good thing in that it gets its authority from the line of the Apostles through the office of Bishop. Spellman as a man and in fulfillment of his office was rife with corruption, deviance, malice, and unacknowledged scandal from what I understand. It is not my place to judge his eternity but I think we laity need to speak when the Body of Christ, of which we are a part and a defender, has been or is defiled and attacked. I trust the Church will endure. Peace.

Maria Valtorta’s writings should be taken with a grain of salt. She had many inconsistencies that prevented the Church from approving her divine revelations and in fact, at one point, the Church had her volumes on their list of Forbidden Books for Catholics to Read, which has now been abolished completely.
Some of the inconsistencies that exist are:
    1. In her writings, some argue that her portrayal of Jesus lacks the appropriate reverence and could undermine the perception of His divine authority and the profound nature of His mission.
    2. Valtorta offers an extremely detailed portrayal of Mary’s life. For example, Valtorta describes specific interactions between Mary and other people in her village, her daily routines, and her emotions in great detail. One controversial episode includes a description of Mary experiencing birth pains during the delivery of Jesus. This rubs up against some Traditional Catholic teaching.
    3. Valtorta adds significant details to well-known biblical events. These additions raise concerns about the potential for altering or overshadowing the scriptural accounts. She includes dialogue at the Last Supper that is not found in the Gospels. This potentially can confuse the faithful about the sacramental theology of the Eucharist as established by the Church.
    4. The books include numerous instances where Jesus explains theological concepts or moral teachings in a way that seems more modern or speculative. Some of these teachings are presented in a manner that might not align perfectly with Catholic doctrine. For example, Jesus in Valtorta’s vision speaks about the future of the Church in a way that some have interpreted as foretelling specific future events. This raises concerns about interpreting these texts as prophetic in a way that would be inconsistent with the established understanding of Church prophecy and revelation.
    5. Valtorta’s writings contain numerous supernatural occurrences and visions experienced by the characters, including detailed appearances of angels and saints. These are sometimes portrayed in ways that critics find overly imaginative or inconsistent with the way the Church has historically understood such events. For instance, the extensive description of Jesus’ post-resurrection appearances, including elaborate dialogues with His disciples, goes beyond the accounts in the Gospels, leading to concerns about adding to or modifying the scriptural record.
    6. Some details in Valtorta’s work have been criticized for not aligning with known historical and geographical facts of the time. Critics argue that these inaccuracies could undermine the credibility of the work as a true account of divine revelation. For example, descriptions of certain plants, animals, or customs that did not exist in first-century Palestine or were anachronistic have been pointed out. These discrepancies raise doubts about the authenticity of the visionary experiences.
One should approach these works with caution. Some critics argue they her works do not always seem to follow along the lines of the established teachings of the Church. There has been ongoing debate about whether the work received official Church approval, with conflicting claims about Pope Pius XII's stance.
Concerns about pseudo-religiosity (the term implies that while the work may appear deeply spiritual or religious on the surface, it lacks true theological depth or authenticity from the perspective of official Catholic doctrine) were raised by some, including Cardinal Ratzinger (later Pope Benedict XVI). It remains to be seen if the Church fully endorses the writings of Maria Valtorta. While the Church has provided a Nihil Obstat, the term is a Latin phrase that means "nothing stands in the way." The Nihil Obstat is often only the first step in a two-step process of Church approval for religious writings, especially those intended for teaching or devotional use. Let’s wait for the “Imprimatur” to come from the Bishop in question, and even then, this only signifies official Church approval in affirming that the work is free from error in faith and morals and that it can be published and read by the faithful.

I think you might be confusing this work for something else. There is no mention of any sort of birth pain in Mary’s delivery of Jesus in the Poem of the Man-God.

This is quite a lot to write brother Ed. Your points are noted, but one wonders why some choose to sew seeds of fear. With POTMG Jesus gives us a new and important access point. With it, we develop a burning emotional connection to Jesus and to Mary such that they reside in our hearts far more intensely than they reside in our heads. Perhaps it is the prospect of bypassing the cerebral that causes fear and alarm for some.

Jesus told Cardinal Ottavio Michelini that He dictated the entire work to Maria Valtorta and that He is the true author of it.
Deal with THAT theologians!!! Let's be honest, Church authorities' opinions don't really mean anything nowadays, considering the fact that many holy people have been persecuted by them for decades on end. And they still continue...
It's a wonderful work. I found there many information on my patron saint Joanna the wife of Cuza!
I believe Jesus, not some masonic prelate who will try every trick on the planet to pull me away from Jesus and Mary. Simple. Leave Maria Valtorta alone.
