Hey, just wanna tell you, your game is great, I got it this weekend and already got a few runs in, I'm loving it, hope to see more content being added.
Great concept so far things I consider fun in poker quest are: You draw from the same deck. The cards are random, but you can guess what the enemy cant have. Because you have it in your hand. When both parties have their private dice pool this effect is impossible. Maybe add some enemies/items to steal dice or add a common pool both parties may draw from. (or let it be, maybe its good as it is) Its not always about high value. As I saw the video everything was about rolling a 20. There is no room for a 3. In Poker quest ace and king are nice cards. Most of the time. But not always, there are plenty of situations where a 5 is more important. This is solely carried by items and enemy effects. With more items wanting different ranges more varied dice upgrades will be possible too. Like only roll odd/even, never roll the same number twice in a row, always roll lower/higher than the dice to the left. Etc All values exist in 4 suits. This makes limits and extent the depth of strategy. Currently the dices dont have limits. Therefore they dont have depth. Its more for more and all are equal. Maybe dices with different colours that do different things could deepen the game. Simple things like red dice do an extra damage, black dice do an extra defence, green puts a poison stack on the enemy. With items that call for X of the same colour dice, X different colour dice, X dice of this colour. It limits while also keeping the dice colour effect so players have to make more considerate choices.
Hey great game i just bought it, but the first run was super easy cause of the reduce to 1 all dmg so it broke the game for me. And same thought on the overpowered enemy's abilities, it feels like you have to be broken cause they are too. Maybe less power both side could be an idea
I think this video goes to show how broken "add main hand slot" would've been if you took it. Almost all the equipment were weapons XD. Just add a few more die instead of upgrades and with that wooden shield+ the DPS would've been nuts.
As far as your final remarks, I can imagine a world where you can block 100 damage with something like 4-6 dice and some strength. Also maybe some of the other armor items, or double use shield, etc... I dunno, I still think you're right about everything over tuned, but I imagine there are lots of tools we didn't see. Wouldn't mind seeing another run or two with other characters.
Played a few runs with each character. Man it's a solid game. Going knight and upgrading the weapon first is insane. I took 4 elite fights in a row from the start and it carried me to my first win. Game is great for $2 would highly recommend.
Hey Retromation, have you ever heard of a game called Pathfinder Adventures? It's my all-time favourite card (and dice!) based game, and I've always thought it was unfortunate how it flew under most people's radar. If you haven't heard of it, it's basically if you took D&D (or Pathfinder, as the name implies), and turned it into a card game. Plays *very* differently than most card games, quite unique.
Was a fun watch! Can see how it would have been helpful to upgrade the Katana after getting the helmet as a way to improve the chances of activating it (with a 2 or 3 dice combination) as well to go full aggro when needed. Still a great watch
With no mouse it was hard to tell, but what if the Sandcake had an upgrade? A healing upgrade preferably would have made you a Sandcake Immortal like the Old Man in the desert!
this have the same asset pack that the Monster Slayer card game . i see why the creator want to hav original art in his game. hope he manage to get it . this game have very nice potential

Looks good, I know it's a long way off but once you get the game ironed out I'd love to see a xbox version. Good luck on your game

If you like tactical/strategy turnbased and roguelite, try Warriors of the Nile 2 guys, it's a hidden gem.
The first katana upgrade is medium but the second katana upgrade is nuts btw

You can see it has no upgrade because it doesn't have the green indicator on the bottom of the card.

there is a giant that breaks block then does 3 dice damge 3 times, he 1 shot me from full. i had 40 block but he romoved it all then did 90 damage

It's a bug with Unity Engine, if you record the game window instead of the screen, the cursor is hidden, i have a fix ready for next patch.
The boss Dragon had 8 attacks but only 4 dice so 4 attacks that use dice so 5 moves because blow up for 100 cost no dice.
