Thx, I appreciate the advise. Just bought new bow, was doing good, then all of a sudden my groups getting farther left of target and noticed the peep was off.
For those looking to go the "ghetto" route and not spend several hundred, you can get cable bow press. It's not nearly as nice as the Last Chance and it can be a little fiddly but it works. I have a Bowmaster g2 press. The nice thing about it is that it's portable, so it lives in my bow bag, that way if I'm at the range and need to make an adjustment I can do it right there.
Loving the content and subscribed. I recently stumbled across your channel as I'm getting back into archery after a break for a year and a half, gotta blow the dust off my old bowtech insanity and put some arrows through it! Keep up the good work!
typically happens depending how the serving is wrapped. Too tight causes a string twist underneath the serving. Tip: serve with tension without allowing twist underneath and in the same direction as the string twist. Any material can be made to stay straight. It really is how it was made.
God bless you for the video man. Had a stock string on my bow, horrible rotation. Upgraded to ABB, still started rotating on my first day shooting. But at least Ik its a common issue
Two questions, what do you think about using a small piece of d loop material in string above peep and moving that up or down to realign peep or secondly a peep tuner button
Line your D-loop up with the peep and it'll help it draw back lined up more often then not. As much as I don't miss the little rubber tubes they did a fairly good job of keeping your peep coming back lined up.
@@cericson3426same here , I don’t use them in every bow but once my strings get a little older I’ll add it just to get another couple years out of the strings , probably would t be the best option for fixed head guys but shooting mechanical it’s not a big deal with timing being off a smidge
You can always carry a portable press like the one from synonm that works off of rope pulling instead of turning a handle if it becomes an issue in the field.
I really need to be better about hitting that like button to help the algorithms. Thank you for your dedication to your craft: as a gentleman, a trainer, an archer, a hunter, and a sherpa.
Hunted for years like over 15 years always used a tubed peep never had a problem with peep twist so everyone say peep tubes are for beginners so I got a new string and decided was a good time to try a peep without a tube and now what a pain in the a$$ I am constantly dealing with twist in my peep 😡 very tempted to go back to what worked .
The real quick cheat slide your string silencers a bit. Just make sure they stay clear of your cams. Works way better than twisting the D-loop and no press required. If that won't get it you need to throw in a twist.
LOVE your vids Dude!!!! I watch every single one of them when they drop! I have my own home bow shop too and I have been tracking what you are doing and it is AWESOME! Keep up the great work, your passion really shows!!!! You seem like you would be FUN to hang around with and have a long range day to chat and BS around! Good Peepz!!!
I'm new to the archery game and have a new PSE. I'm getting ridiculous peep rotation. Annoying to say the least. An archery shop offered tying in the tube but I'm hoping things will work themselves out on their own as I put more arrows through it. Idk though.
Those last chance archery presses are pricey. But after looking at it it is a very simple build, made out of square tubing and I'm going to build one and Tig weld the whole thing. Sweet video.
Great video and as always, great content. It just so happens I'm getting a press from LCA for Fathers day, and I cant wait to give my factory 😞 string a half twist or more. My peep rotation is ridiculous, and VERY annoying.
When you make your twist are you twisting them to tighten the cable, loosen the cable, or are you twisting them both the same direction as the peep needs to be turned?
Love this channel, just subscribed and a little bit of constructive criticism. If youre ganna tell people to press their bow and add twists to their strings, you should include like what the twists do and what direction. Like if you have left or right peep twist. Do you need to twist your strings left or right. Other than that this channel is great dude. Keep growing !
Doesn’t putting a twist in your string change the timing, though? I probably just need to go ahead and shoot some arrows because I just got it back in time and spec ata but it’s just a hair off on the peep and I don’t want to take it out of time.
Thanks bud I watch alot of ur stuff..finally subbed been able to shoot decent for a while but just recently started to take very seriously as a food source..getting prepared for off grid living
a lil tip that i did in the field that a friend showed me was to take a toothpick if u happen to have one,,,insert it thru the string below the peep then very slightly slide it up or down and it will slightly move the twists in the string and align your peep..you of course cut or break off the excess toothpick and its just a quick fix in the field and only for a very small amount of peep rotation but it def works
I know this is an old video but here goes. My peep is slightly turned to the left with my new string. I always shoot about 50 arrows before installing the peep but i did not this time. I always see videos saying to put the bow in a press and rotate the string a half of a turn at the bottom to fine tune a close to correct peep. I pulled my bow back and had my wife twist the string a quarter turn as I was letting down. It worked and has held up for 50 to 60 shots. Is this not the equivalent of twisting the string 1/2 turn while on a press?
I have my hamskea peep setup centered when I draw with the sight set at 40 yards. When I set my sight at 10 yards or 70+ yards the peep is no longer centered on my scope housing. From your videos I’ve seen you frequently shooting at variable distances out to 100+ yards. Is your peep centered when you’re shooting very short or very long distances?
My son has a mission radik and he's shot it a bunch of times. Peep and d loop both started twisting. I retied them both in snug and on the first shot they twisted yet again. Why does this keep happening with every first shot no matter how you set the peep and d loop in?
Pretty gabby. Many ways to address peep twist. Also! Custom strings are great if they know how to make good strings. The next thing to knowing how is to do each step day in and day out. Lots of food material to make strings. The process to build and human error " ignorance " or " work ethics " is a huge factor. Also learning then hiring another person is another issue. Do they have the same " GAF" as the guy pumping his products?
After watching multiple multiple videos on the new V3 x and your heavily phrased hamski rest specifically the epsilon I went to my local shop but a bowl ask them to put on the hamski rest and they told me it will not fit with the detachable quiver. At that point I had to settle for the qad, after looking at multiple videos I found one that you had to add spacers and you used the side mount spot hog site I believe or you cut your dovetail off. I wish you would have mentioned that it would not work with the detachable quiver I would not have put so much time so much time into researching the hamski as much as I did. I do appreciate most of your video content
I got to say and maybe it's because I'm outdated been bow hunting for about 40 years I prefer the peeps with the tubing because they are always straight. (If you go on a trip just make sure you always have some extra tubing in your pack) I have bows both ways and inevitably the non tubed peeps end up crooked at the most inopportune moment.
I've seen people put a small piece of D loop matl. in the string and slide it slightly up or down to straighten the peep. Does that work? I have gas strings and yes they do stretch very little but the do. Truthfully I'm probably do for a new set.
Easier fix - I use Bowjax SlipJax sting silencers. They are wedged between the two main strands of the bow string on both the top and bottom. As the string breaks in and the peep rotates a little, you simply slide the sting silencers a tiny amount to realign. An archery shop tech taught me this little trick, & it works perfectly. I had been using SlipJax silencers for a very long time, but never thought of using them to align my peep. Lining my peep back up takes about 10-15 seconds now. Once I align it again, it stays in line for a very long time, too! I've had the same SlipJax string silencers on my box since 2013 (same ones on the third string). Thus, they are durable & sliding them doesn't damage them.
I blur the target and focus on my pin my mind knows where to aim by doing this two things halon my pin really sits still and if I focus on target and not pin my pin will tend to float below the target not saying that’s right or wrong just what I have found works for me
Question, the last time I shot, I heard a pop, and now my peep is sideways when I draw. Any clue what happened? It was a new bow with the factory string (diamond brand). I had shot around 75 - 100 arrows when it happened. A pro shop set it up for me, assuming I'll need to take it back to get it fixed

To what degree will doing this affect the tune of my bow? Reason I ask is cause I just tuned the bow money and don't have a ton of time to retune with grad school keeping me busy.
