My tip for an ebike battery cover for semi Integrated or frame mounted, look at purchasing a Neoprene Thigh strap used for keeping muscles warm. Water resistant, keeps the dirt off, protects from direct hits. I could tell from a fairly long winter ride battery consumption was less than usual in most modes used. Mine cost me £12 off Amazon........... perfect!
Needs more RGB lighting
looking at a battery cover now...nice one!
If you going to use alloy valve cap's then make sure you brush a thin coat of anti seize compound to the valve threads. If you don't then you running in to big problems trying to remove them due to oxidising.
Those things oxidize and are impossible to remove.
this! unfortunately, i had to learn this the hard way,, I left my alloy valve cap in of my old and unused wheelset, and when i thought i could use that in my new ones it's already too late =)
you guys going to cover replacement/second batteries..and how the "compatible" but ie non yamaha or bosch branded fare?
I have a lower spec version of the Haibike AllMtn shown in the video. Is it difficult to convert the factory 2x chainring to a 1x system, as shown on the bike in the video? What size chainring is recommended; 38t?
Hey EMBN Team, wonder if Chris got any problems with the dopper Post cable mounted that way. I got the same frame and think about mounting a dropper post with internal cable instead of the stock XLC one. THanks!
when your trimming your zip ties use a flush cutter so you don't get left with a razor sharp edge.
That is the best idea ever. I have scars from those darn zipdoodles.
Well made and good value.
Thanks, mine rides much better now.
anyone know where you can get a battery pin cover from , I've temp taped a old innertube when transporting to try and stop rain going directly in the
open cover causing faulty ie wont turn off until dried out
Try aliexpress
What gearing do you have on your ebike?
found Punisher Valve Plugs...now its perfekt :)
Consider coloured socks znd coloured shoelaces.
Oh yes. And rainbow coloured led lights. Definitely led lights.
So basically coloured zip ties... Coloured grips.... Coloured zip ties.... Coloured valve caps... More coloured zip ties and a battery sleeping bag. Oh and coloured zip ties.
I love this channel but some of these videos seem to be made purely to fill the gaps and are really poo
CCB TV read the title and stop complaining
@@Fluterra: Upgrades vs bling. The title right now is upgrades.
@@Fluterra I did read the title.... And watched the video... And that's why I said it's rubbish. As do a lot of the comments on here
Which is more poo-poo...a video about some 90's bling on your bike or your whining? If you must be less than supportive, why not just say this video was a bit less substantial than most. They will get the message.
@@geraldhenrickson7472 I think they still get the message
Sorry meant hardtails on a budget....suppose it would be good to compare both if at same price.
Just a mind thought about transporting your bike and removing the battery.
How is it that slamming and ramming your bike along the trails is ok for the battery and the connectors.
But on/in your car/bus/van where it is by far much safer and way less shaky because of the smooth road it is now unsafe to keep the battery in place?
That doesn't add up at all.
Wondered that myself. Maybe in an upright riding position the battery is ok, but should the bike be lay on its side and jostled about, that could really stress parts from the wrong angles ?
It's not unsafe, I think it has to do with slow residual draining of the battery while attached to the bike connectors. This may also affect the lifespan of the battery.
Ask yourself if Yamaha would like to NOT deal with the fact that at 80 mph the battery becomes a projectile.
2:46 someone know where I could get this thing? Thank!
The bike? Its a upper level Haibike yet they make some great models for general use that are more affordable.
What about converting a std bike to a ebike. Did you tried kits, with engine in the wheel, or in the main crank ? This should make a cheap ebike.. But what is the result ?
The result is less effort on the big hills. Its wonderful. I have had 1000 watts of death defying throttle before but now just have a yamaha powered Haibike from 2017. Its wonderful as I get to ride instead of tinker and best of all...I cannot get too lazy...I must pedal. Its great exercise. I ride most days just for the fun of climbing hills.
Does your ebike has a 10 speed xt derailleur? How can that be on and expensive new bike?
Because it is an E-bike
Even the better ebikes need some upgrades. What is wrong with XT? Oh wait...it is probably unacceptable at the coffee shop. I get it. Never mind.
Erf... well if you want to be mingled with a christmas tree those are good ideas...
Do not overlook the value of better poedals and more secure grips. Also the battery cover is a great idea.
The zip ties and caps are all I can afford oh and the tin of cleaner.
love just looking at it ha ah....yep
S'all about the colours from what I got from this video. Hahah :p
What bike is that?
So You're saying i wasted my time searching eMTB hacks when just MTB hacks would have done? No wait, apologies, the last two covered batteries, my bad
when you going to start doing actual bike tests ?
Ergo grips. Way more comfy...
A clean is not an upgrade LOL.
Try replacing the tube cap, that's cheap and can be customised.
Nice job Chris. Great tips.
little bit annoyed because most of this video was a waste of time for me. I'm letting you off with that though because i know i am a weirdo. That battery contact point cover is a good idea though. Shame that neoprene jockstrap looks about as weatherproof as an open window. I'd recommend a slightly more weatherproof option to all ebikists. Also, that battery cover - another good idea, but only when it's really cold out
STOP OILING YOUR CHAIN!😱 It's making a mess, and just collects dust and grit.
Yes, you. Put away that WD-40.
To keep your chain in working order, soak it in (hot) chain wax. Then buff off any excess wax before reinstalling.😁
Ride happy, stay safe.
Spend 4k on a bike and 1$ On coloured zip ties, what a joke.. better don't make video and waste our time then make it like this guys :-/
Yes but...did you decide to watch the entire video?
That's a gorgeous haibike
None of these have to do with the "electric" bit of the bike
The battery cover? The pin cover? The Peartune speed limiter eliminating device...oh wait, that is a different video. My bad.
Hiiiii
Nina aatke
SKIP to 5:30 You will thank me later
13. Remove the battery and motor 😂
Nice. Very mature comment. Just like snowboards...eBikes are here to stay. Dont be angry at ALL ebikers because some dipswitch has a throttle and zooms past you on the big hills. Some of us use them daily and try not to anger other riders.
All isnt for e mtb
Why doesn't this channel review and do challenges of bikes under 2k, to help encourage newcomers. No challenges involving hub motors, hardships on a budget......just seems these guys are missing a trick...why would you use a premium bike to add poundstretcher upgrades. Need to be far more inclusive and leave emtb snobbery at the door. Sorry just saying.
Hi Luke, you make a valid point about encouraging new people into the sport. It's an area we're going to be developing, and will have some entry level e-bikes on the channel very soon.
@@embn thanks for letting me know. I have a diamondback lux 27.5 purchased for 1.5k....it's the best I could afford, so would be good to see some cheaper bikes and see how they compare. Please can I also suggest a show to include decent bike lights....I looked at Halfords etc, but actually purchased one from eBay, Nestling dual led for just 18 pounds so bargain. Finally can you include a section on car bike racks as many etmb don't fit and what are the best locks especially when you have quick release wheels. Again, thanks for your reply, much appreciated.
First like
Well that is 20 seconds of my life that I won't be getting back. :( 20 seconds being the time that it took to skip through the content. Easily the worst EMBN effort to date.
U copied Seth bike hacks
Nope
@@th_js well some of them are the same as in the video of Seth, now not sure that there is that much "tips" available that haven't been shown by any ytbers, now that's sure that Seth could have been a nice inspiration for this video, but for the one who haven't seen Seth's video, then it can be useful for them maybe...
Hold on. Aluminum pedals are terrible in winter climate. You need nylon or composite pedals with metal spikes only. Aluminum gives cold feet because it transfers cold temperatures into your shoe.
What? Wait...are you one of those guys that rides in fat-tire snow races?
ну и бредятина...
тут болтики цветные тут ручки цветные тут стяжки цветные...
а по существу есть чтото???
ДИЗ. видос помойка
chip and unnecessary gadgets
The best upgrade is.....
Buying a real bike!
Totally, like a penny farthing, right?
Tossing out anti-ebike comments from the cheap seats is really helpful. Thanks for being an ambassador for divison withing the biking community. C'mon everyone...group hug!
