Sell all your furniture and other things that you don't need and buy brand new when you move into your Parents house. putting things into storage is overrated.
Agreed! It costs so much to haul stuff across the country and to store it. Unless something has special sentimental value, get rid of it. It will be cheaper to buy new. Plus you can buy furniture etc that specifically fits your new home. You will enjoy decorating your new place.
What you said about your family having 15 years left and seeing them twice a year for a total of 30 more times really hit me hard....never thought about it that way.
We moved from SoCal Orange County to Texas, and the uhaul cost was insane. Sell whatever you can and buy new. Way cheaper. Good luck
I love this for you! This sounds like a great decision. I was born & raised in San Diego, and we ended up moving an hour north to Menifee in 2022. Our reasons for staying reasonably local had a lot to do with family proximity, but we just couldn’t cut it in San Diego proper.
The amount of house you’ll be able to get out there will be amazing, and you can’t beat raising your kids around people you love. I lost my mom in 2019 when my kids were 4 & 10. I feel so grateful for all the time they got with her. You just never know. ❤
aww thank you for sharing, and I'm sorry to hear about your mom. What a treasured gift to give her and your kids.
Love your channel. We currently live in San Diego and have for 6 years. About to start a family and moving back east has been a dreaded outcome for so long, but being near family is important to us as well. End of an era but so grateful for our time here!
Overland park is awesome. Have a drink for me at Boulevard and KC Bier 😊
Congrats guys!! 🎉🎉🎉 I’m so happy for you! Living with family can be difficult, but it’s only temporary and you’re going to make bank saving on that LA rent! 🤣
You guys look so incredibly happy. Kuddos for moving close to family. Your daughter is so blessed to have you guys. Congrats 👏
Your parents will be so happy that you are going to live with them. And have a chance to spend more time with Quinn.
So happy for you guys! We moved back to southeast Missouri after being away for 6 years. It’s so nice being able to hop in the car and visit family and absolutely take advantage of date nights!
I hope you cover this moving experience with the associated costs as it relates to your channel to millennials figuring out how yo live debt free
How exciting! As someone who was born and raised in Southern California, I really did resonate with all the cons against it. That being said, I stay here primarily because this is where my family is. Family is so important. I'm excited to follow you along on this new chapter!
OH! and as you look into homes,I know its exciting to find these affordable huge homes, keep in mind that it is more space that you will have to clean, furnish, heat or cool. So larger is not always better.
Happy for yall!
Such a great video! 🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations guys!!
Omg how exciting! Congratulations!!
Im sooooo excited for y’all!!! I cant wait for all these changes for you guys!!!!
Fantastic news!
Congratulations one step closer to your goal.
Welcome home!! We can't wait to have you ❤
Congratulations!
I am thrilled for you all! What a great thing you guys are doing! It will be a game changer financially. But the other benefits you mentioned in the video are just so important. Good for you both. Best wishes with the whole process!
Love this vlog! New adventures awaits
Yay! Thank you!
FINALLY!!! I love it. I'm so happy for you guys 💫✨
I'm so happy that you guys are moving closer to family!
Very exciting news! Looking forward to seeing your life unfold in Kansas City.
Congrats! Moving to a new place can be an exciting transition. We felt that when we opted to move to NH. So happy for you guys. Good luck with the move.
So excited for you guys! We're moving soon too and buying our first house. Can't wait for all the moving content!!
I feel like you’re going to love this decision. Happy for you and best of luck on the move
I'm so happy that you guys are making the best decision for you and your family!
Congrats you guys! Remote work is the best. I would love to take my freelance writing business full time like you did.
Congrats to you all!! KC is amazing, love living in KC with cost of living here. Culturally we've grown a lot in this state and are still making strides to provide more for folks to do.
Welcome to KC, guys!
I am so excited for y’all! I wasn’t expecting Kansas City. It will be great!
Congratulations guys 🎉
Good luck in KC, always nice to be around family
Thank you!! 😊
Congratulations guys! This is what you’ve been working towards. Can’t wait for other content.
Congratulations that’s a huge journey so happy for y’all that you can work from home. And it’s gonna be so nice to have your family all around.
WFH is the besttt, so glad Kyle got this opportunity to do it!
Ahhh congrats, guys! As a close by Kentuckian, welcome back to the Midwest! ❤
Good move. KCMO is a great area. Now you can gear up for #2, 3 etc. Congrats
Ya ... when i left California the strangest thing i had to get used to was this crazy thing called weather 😂
When I saw your video pop-up I was literally screaming I could not wait to get off work so I can watch it ohhh Justine I am so happy you moving to Oklahoma my first thought was family. ❤ My favorite couple I'm so happy 😁
I'll move back to my hometown in fall and my reasons are the same. I have no kids but five nieces and nephews, my parents are aging and I still have two gradparents - who knows for how long. I am very happy for you guys!
I get it. I didn't move or get a promotion but the work from home is real and family is important. Congrats and best of luck.
KC! Thats amazing you will be just a few towns from me. I am sure you will love being so close to family!
That's awesome! The built-in support with family is SO nice.
Congrats...
Wow! Big news. It sounds like a wonderful idea - having family around just hits different after you become parents. And we in the flyover states welcome you back to Middle America! Back to lower cost-of-living, 4 seasons, front lawns and sidewalks, parking lots and superstores. :)
Being from Colorado, you made the right choice! I almost moved to Kansas City but ended up in north west Arkansas instead. We were able to get a brand new build for about half of what it would have cost in Colorado and I have no regrets about moving here. Congrats on your new adventure 😊
After leaving San Diego and LA I hope you don't get too bored!
Kyle’s sandals joke has me rolling 😂Congrats you guys 🎉 so happy for you
Great move! Kansas is so affordable with living expenses
I was so excited to see your video I said Oklahoma but you guys are moving Kansas City
Welcome back to the Midwest, guys!
Well done on your approach to living in LA, and doing all the LA things while you were there. I'm sure you'll be glad of that once you have moved on.
We loved our LA experience!
Congratulations on this next phase of life! 🏡
Thank you!!
Are you only pursuing existing home to buy? Have you also considered buying a new home build in a subdivision developing. Have you ever covered existed home buy vs new home buy as part of your channel? We bought a new home build back in 2017
After living in Denver for eight years I moved to Kansas City six months ago. My quality of life has improved drastically - I can afford my own apartment. Everything is cheaper - gas/food/insurance... I miss the mountains but I had very little opportunity to enjoy them because I was always working now I go visit.
Being able to afford an apartment isn't great living either. Baby Boomers and the Silent Generation were buying a house on one income job that was barely above minimum wage and having 6-10 kids. Minimum wage in California in 1945 was .45 cents an hour. A house in Los Angeles, San Francisco or San Diego in 1945 cost around $4,300. People on minimum wage in 1945 were earning around $900 a year. That's about a 5-1 ratio of housing cost to minimum wage in 1945. Today that would be people making $100 an hour which comes out to $208,000 a year because a house in LA, San Francisco, and San Diego cost $100,000,000. People need to make $208,000 a year to get to a 5-1 ratio today. Think about that. People today are fighting over dog scraps.
I have heard of trucks never arriving. Be very careful about what you physically have on you versus in the truck, if the truck goes missing also put, an apple tag inside something in the truck.
I am excited to hear you guys are getting out of cali!
I always knew you guys would go back to Kansas!!!! I think this is a fantastic decision and im happy for you guys!! You'll be able to pay for a house and put a large % down and you'll be close to family. Great wealth building and strong family ties!!! Would be very interested in a house hunting series :)
Ohhh a house hunting series, that's a great idea!
Exciting news, congrats!!! 🎉
About damn time! So happy for you!!!
Yay!!! I grew up in Lenexa and it was such an idyllic childhood. I loved it. Ironically enough we’re in CA (Bay Area) now 😂
so exciting! we also moved into our parents house with our 1.5 year old when we moved from Texas back home to NY. lets just say we didn't take long to buy a house haha
hahaha!!
Kansas citian here!
Well well! Welcome back home! If I see you in the streets, I’ll say hello!
please do!!
I bet you Kyle's family will make the drive down to KC from Lincoln pretty frequently. This will be great for you guys.
Yes, we've talked a lot about that! And our ability to travel up to see them will be nice.
LA is expensive and overcrowded and I don’t go to the beach enough to make that a worthwhile trade off. Can’t wait to leave the state in a few years. You are doing the best thing for your family by moving to a nice Midwest city. You won’t regret it!
Excited for our KC era!
Woo hoo!! Welcome back to the Midwest! 🎉
Also the U-Haul thing is crazy. I knew of one family moving out of state that drove from San Diego to Arizona just to pick up a U-Haul to bring back to move because it was so much cheaper than getting one in CA.
He k yeahhhh
Happy for you! I’m also in SoCal and moving to Texas in a couple of months. Way too expensive here lol.
Hi. My wife and I are from SoCal Orange County and moved to Texas in April 2021. We hated it so much! It's not cheap. The people suck and taxes are out of control. My wife cried for 2 years. We now live in Tennessee and are very happy. Everyone we met in Texas who moved from California hates it. Food for thought.
@@thomasmillercnbI’ve lived in Texas before and hated it to be honest, but my family is there and it’s the best way I can pay off student loans in a small timeframe. I’ll only be there temporarily then move elsewhere. I heard Tennessee is great!
This is awesome. Y'all are gonna be able to afford a mansion. Well done!!! Colorados housing market is nutty, this is the best thing yall could have done. Definitely rethink putting down so much. It will barely move the needle on payment and you're gonna be shocked how much shit you need to buy when you have a house. Just bought in Feb and put down 5% after considering 10% or more. Best decision ever.
We live in San Diego county, and so many other young families are leaving because it's just so unaffordable. We'll be staying because our families are here. And we got in on the housing market in 2019 so we can afford it. But I totally get why others are leaving.
In 10 years, you will look back on this decision as one of the best you made! 👏👏👏
“Did you get all your sandals?” 💀
hahaha
Colorado springs is a hole
You guys look like twins …
Some people grew up with malignant narcissist parents and are moving to opposite side of America to get away from their family. It's not fun growing up being made into the black sheep and not having family support.
Are you pregnant? Lol
I was thinking the same thing.
Congratulations to you guys! So happy for you guys to start a new journey in life. It’s good to be close to family, especially for support. 🩷
