In this video I play my legendary ocean deck or kairyu-shin control. I consider this one of the best control decks in master duel . This deck has taken me to diamond 1 and has been undefeated in the duelist cup so far. By the end of this deck profile you will know how to play legendary ocean . Some people consider it a brick but I would recommend Mega Fortress whale in case your trap can’t destroy your opponents monster and so you can attack your opponents LP directly. And then you can choose skull mariner as your normal monster cuz when mega fortress dies you can special summon it in defense. Also you’re going to need Dark ruler no more a lot of the times when you go second
you should consider running Dragonoid Generator, you pay 1000 LP to activate it the first time, and then up to twice per turn you can use its effect to summon an Earth Token to your field, and then during the End Phase you force an Earth Token to their field as well. With Umi and Kairyu-Shin on the field, you lock them into that Earth Token. If you get the token on their field before you summon Kairyu-Shin (such as using the one trap to special summon Kairyu-Shin from the deck while having SSA2 act as an Umi for you), then it forces them to send everything except the Earth Token, because the Token cant be sent to the grave. So its a powerful card to help lock the opponent. And since the token is summoned to their field during the end phase, you can prepare by clearing their board so the token can get summoned to secure the lock. The only downside to this combo, is with the Ice Barrier trap's setback of locking you into Water Monsters until the end of your NEXT End Phase after the trap's other effect was activated, so you can lock yourself out of generating a token that way, but overall its done wonders in my Umi Control deck.
It sounds like a really cool idea but a bit bricky going second. If there was side decking in master duel, I would side this in going first 100%.
@@LordTrent. I mean, going first or second, it still has its use for sure. Often times I will draw into it, I generate the token, and then wipe their board with the Kairyushin SSA combo, leaving their board open for the token so they cant summon anymore. It helps my build more honestly since I run a Umi Variant with Mo Ye teched in so I can have an option for Chengying, I also run this one version of Umi, I forget what its called off the top of my head, but it lets you put a water monster on top of the deck when first activated, and then once per turn you can change a water monster's level by 1 or 2, so I use that paired with Mo Ye to get into Chengying. I also use Mo Ye as my option into Dragite as well. I run 1 of the Phantasm Spiral field spell as well, often starting with that since it will let me search for the normal boss PS monster that is a Wyrm for Mo Ye.

I just made a Umi control deck similar ot yours. It's pretty good. Couldn't afford There can only be One, but Soul Drain has been a decent substitute in the current meta. Thanks for the deck explanation
There can only be one is 100% better because it breaks boards. Save your UR gems and get it.
I teched in lappis dragon to proc off of foolish for a tuner or a tribute for Kariyu-Shin. Gives you access to dragite and chengying who has dummy good synergy with sea stealth attack

Could you run something like powered tuner instead of the pendulum tuner just so the tuner actually goes to graveyard ( or any other lvl 4 water tuner)
There aren't any other water lvl 4 tuners that are also normal monsters.

After using umi bc my friend was struggling i appreciated more,yes floodgates are bad,but when i used i noticed How umi and kairyu are like oxygeny for this deck to live,It hurt so bad not having one of the two in hand, oh and also dealing with trap decks was really hard
This deck can struggle with trap match ups sometimes. Thats why I play the tuner package to make dragite for the trap negate.
Foolish burial goods is getting limited on the update for some reason?
At 8:00 how were you able to summon the tuner if umi wasn’t on the field. I thought maiden of the aqua can’t count as umi if there’s a field spell active so you wouldn’t be able to summon the normal monster from dark reef right? I’m not sure what I missed.
To summon the tuner your opponent just has to control a monster when you activate dark reef.
Ohhhh…I’m dumb…I’ve been mixing up dark reef’s extra summon with the second effect of fish sonar this whole time…..I’ve lost a lot of duels irl smh 🤦

what are your thoughts on running pacifis in this instead of legendary ocean?
Mixed with the effect monsters like kairyu-shin or a stand alone pacifis? If you have a list, I'm willing to try it.
@@LordTrent. ye with the effect monsters. I know they are conflicting a little but legendary ocean does almost nothing while pacifis can be really strong constantly summoning back that token. Unfortunately i think a list with the pacifis trap cards conflicts too much with the effect monsters but ive been trying a list with just the fieldspell and 1 phantasm spiral dragon as search target or for fish sonar. You could even mix the fieldspells in theory and still play like 1-2 legendary ocean but ive been having solid success even with just 3 pacifis and no legendary ocean. Otherwise the list isnt too different from a regular umi control deck. And ur pretty good at deckbuilding so just give it a whirl and lemme know what u think. You might want to try out a copy of icejade tremora and maybe 2-3 mithra the thunder vassal to provide tribute futter for kairyu shin as you usually would only summon him with jellyfish without the level modulation of legendary ocean. And mithra is pretty nice to give a body and make it so your opponent cant imperm you anymore
Just run one copy of Pacifis. In the event you draw foolish or jellyfish plus sea stealth but can’t do any plays, you can revive it on your opponents turn and if you get the token out, you can at least that that sort of protection. But ALO is useful because it stops Swordsoul, and it stops the deep sea divas plus frogs in spright from extra deck plays.
@@eldeliciosomagnifico6503 tru i totally forgot about it messing up the opponents levels too. alternatively you could maybe argue for 2 pacifis and 1 legendary ocean and then playing warriors or atlantis to make the legendary ocean more searchable but yea, a lot of room for trying out different ratios
@@vareos9874 I personally like the one Pacifis because I rely on ALO a lot, especially going second and I need an easy board wipe from a level 4 kariyu-shin. To me, Pacifis is best for stalling early game or after your board is already set up. But these are all personal preferences.
I'm using Branded Despia with summon limit. I like this deck.

Why do people run edge imp chain?
Frightfur patchwork target to add chain and a poly to hand in order to go into Chimera easier/ extend into more fusion plays
