    Don't buy the 6.2 gasser I had one and I traded it in a month later for the 6 7 diesel but no penalties almost made a huge mistake a truck is not made for towing heavy it's only good for snow plowing and salting maybe a small trailer enclosed for job site that's it. Spend the extra dough you cheap bastards and get the diesel doesn't matter what truck you're looking for by the diesel

      Honestly with the air bags you dont need it!

  • @BrigT262
    @BrigT262 6 лет назад +3

    Love the truck! Great video! I wanted to see if the trailer would lift that much weight! Just last week I saw a terrible crash on the freeway. A guy pulling a heavily loaded dump trailer...probably going too fast. Looks like the trailer started swaying, took the truck right off the road and totalled the entire rig. Be careful pulling that kind of bumper weight at 80mph passing people with the confidence of a sports car. It could be the death of you & others.

    • @workplaytv
      @workplaytv  6 лет назад +1

      Brig T Oh yeah for sure you def need to make sure the weight is distributed properly. It dumped it no problem. Only once was their to much weight I had to shovel a bit off to get it to dump. As long as your trailer is in good safe condition as well as the truck and you have a good heavy duty hitch you are good to go. Airbags make a HUGE difference.

  • @headhunter306
    @headhunter306 4 года назад

    Just a fyi the eco boost twin turbo can tow that much weight. Itll bully the truck around a bit but it did a lot better than I thought it would. I also have a 2017 f250 thought that tows like a monster.

    • @workplaytv
      @workplaytv  4 года назад +1

      HeadHunter Ecoboost is junk I owned one. Also towing that much weight with a 1/2 ton is asking for trouble.

    • @headhunter306
      @headhunter306 4 года назад

      @@workplaytv I've heard a lot of people say that buy personally I never had a single problem with mine. I got to 70,000 miles then traded it in just because I needed something bigger. But that f150 did everything I asked of it. Smooth riding truck too and it was pretty fast. I didnt like how it looked though, and felt like driving a explorer. When I got the 250 it was like getting in a 8inch lifted truck compared to it.

    • @workplaytv
      @workplaytv  4 года назад

      HeadHunter Haha yeah. I went through a set of turbos at 60,000 miles and vacuum pumps like crazy!

    • @headhunter306
      @headhunter306 4 года назад

      @@workplaytv haha I guess I just got lucky then. And besides towing every now and then I took it pretty easy on it too because is was my daily driver.

    Nice video. I have the 2018 F250 and use sway bars to tow my 8000 lbs. TT. At what point should you consider air bags?

    • @workplaytv
      @workplaytv  6 лет назад +1

      Skip Thanks for watching! I say as soon as you start to see over and inch of squat on the truck is a good time. You are at a weight where you will really start to see the benefits of air bags! Such a better experience. If you think the truck feels good now you would be blown away with them on.

      @spin0491 5 лет назад

      workplaytv ok i want to agree that you are not overloaded but I wouldn’t feel comfortable being maxed out and if you have a 350 and 550 why not use those I am a firm believer of having more than enough truck vs trailer than being maxed out or close to it in my opinion..... I feeel most comfortable taking a truck off the lot and being able to hook on to something and not or having very little squat then buying a smaller truck and adding crap to it to substitute for its actual abilities/limitations. Hopefully I am getting my point Accross correctly

    Just curious...what is your real, actual available payload? The Diesel engine and all the bling of the Lariat package take up a lot of the payload capacity. These trucks always run out of payload before they hit the max. towing number. Air bags don’t increase your GVWR.

    • @workplaytv
      @workplaytv  5 лет назад

      Allan Your right they don’t increase my GVWR at all. My pay load is just over 1800lbs I will check when I get home tomorrow. And yes typically you do run out of payload before you hit the max tow rating. Manufacturers love to throw high tow ratings out there to catch people’s eyes. The uneducated people think that number actually means something. It means nothing. With that said you aim for 10% tongue weight which would put me right around 18,000lbs towing which is what the truck is rated for.

    • @allan6021
      @allan6021 5 лет назад +1

      Work&Play TV Did you have a chance to take the truck to a scale to see what your actual available payload is?

    • @workplaytv

      Mopar Charger The 250 does because the Ram doesn’t offer the high output engine in the 250.

      fox749 Hey man there are certainly a few key factors. You need to make sure the clients are there before you’d start anything. What do you bring different to the table to put you over the top from your competition? You need to be prepared to sacrifice your personal time. Business needs to come first especially at the start. There are many things to consider buddy.

    Hey great videos..I have pretty much the same truck except mines a 350. I just bought it and I have about 800 miles on it.i love the truck so far the only thing I'm wondering about is a slight hum/vibration coming from the rear end or driveshaft on the highway when I am going between 77-80 miles an hour. Just wondering if you notice anything like that on your truck. Thanks

    I just purchased a tiny home that will weigh approximately 14000LBS AND have a height of approximately 13ft 4inches. It will be a tongue pull. Would you recommend air bags or super Springs for a safer more controlled ride for my 2002 7.3 litre F250. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I appreciate your videos, there are not very many ford diesel towing vloggers out there, so don't stop!

    there is NO WAY that your truck (3/4 ton(ne)) is rated to pull over 10k lbs im a bumper pull situation !!!!!!!!! I would agree IF that was a 1 ton(ne) truck... my 2017 ram 2500 diesel is rated for 10k bumper pull or 17k for 5th wheel/gooseneck mode.

      Mr Woof. My 2017 F350 Dually pulls 22,000 Lbs straight off the hitch with a 2200 Lb tongue weight. Im sure the f250 would pull half that considering its basically the same truck minus the extra 2 wheels.
