I have this recurring fantasy where i'm sitting in a doctor's or hospital waiting room along with these gentlemen, when suddenly they break into a spiritual number like this. Imagine what that would do for the the mood of the sick.

So the Fair Field Four began singing 100 years ago, my cousin remember Willie Love as a Bass Singer, so do I. We most likely was listening to the group thought out the 1940s. My Mother also was a gospel lover, and that is why I am still a gospel lover.
My grandma said i use to sing this song all the time i just thought of it she lived to be 99 years old lord have mercy if she only knew i now remembered it.

I first heard this group about 10 years ago and I was awestruck!!! Love the quartet gospel sound...my only wish was that I had that deep baritone voice like "Uncle Freeman"...oh yeah, as soon as I heard them, they became family!!!!
So many versions of this classic. . . and this one, voices and hand-claps only, is particularly stirring. Wouldn't it be fascinating to have "Home Free" sing this with them?
