Hi Friends! I hop you are enjoying my NEO series. Don't forget to enter to win your own NEO here raffall.com/367390/enter-raffle-to-win-dji-neo-drone-new-in-unopened-box-hosted-by-dustin-dunnill 🍻
The Neo has me pretty excited right now as someone new to the drone scene, that tracking is really nice. Might have to try that while I save for an Avata 😅
Great review as usual Dustin, was waiting for it, because you are the best at it, know your Air 3s is coming, got the Neo for me we can nit pick at it but pound for pound it has to be champ for the price for the versatility for the option of controls, I also have the Air3 and mini3 Pro but they can't come close to tracking me like the Neo does, it follows your exact path and like you said having obstacle avoidance would only hinder it.
I got the email about this drone a couple days ago, and I though huh, I wonder if Dustin has a video about this out? And here it is! Curious to see how it does with a controller.
I got mine a while back and it does great with a controller just like any other dji drone, and the fly app looks normal not vertical when you connect to the controller.
Video isn't as bad as I expected but I wouldn't class it as 4k, tracking is decent it seems to follow your exact path rather than trying to avoid obstacles.
I saw warnings not to fly the Neo over water, but figured that was just in the auto mode, not using the RC2 controller. Flew it over water today, lost all control and into the drink. Not happy.
I don't really recommend the goggles and motion controller, speed even in sport mode is very limited. I would buy the full RC fpv controller, then you have manual mode, much more speed, aerobatic flight, etc. Motion controller just gives you normal and sport modes, both of which look very slow in goggles.
Why there isn't an ability to rotate that screen, dji? It is a very awkward way to fly a drone with a phone. Dji needs to come out with a firmware update to fix that.
Amazing waiting for a range test only which I'm expecting that it's not good for range test because it's not made to go far it is follow drone so behind line of sight it's not good like other dji drone like mini 3 or mini 2 etc
I envy your home dustin. We lived in a 5000 sq foot home growing up struggling to pay the mortgage for 21 years it was beautiful and around the time of the pandemic we couldn't pass up selling it bc of the profit houses were bringing. We live in a single wide trailer now and im just praying 1 day i can have something like that back. It sucks not having a garage or a 2nd story anymore. Not having dry wall but having 70s porno paneling. I cant wait till we climb out of this horrible economy if ever.
Thanks. I've rented my entire life and now in my late 40s my family now has a home to call our own. Wow a 5000sqft home to a trailer? I guess you'll wait for the market to come down again to buy? Taxes are a lot unless you re invest all that profit 🍻
@DustinDunnill well I run a family business so it's keeping that afloat. I'm from a small town. We'll get back up there again 1 day bit ua we had to downsize a ton. It's so packed to what we had. I had 4 bedrooms to myself alone upstairs and 2 bathrooms. That was bigger then our whole trailer combined now
I bought the Neo over a month ago. I’m in Canada it got relieved here early. I got the flymore kit with the controller. Great video seeing what is possible with this little drone. I bought mine to fly like a normal drone with a controller but it’s nice to see how versatile this little drone is. It appears to track your movement exactly that’s why it doesn’t crash when following. It follows you like a puppy dog! Lol If you zig or zag it zigs and zags because it follows your path exactly. So much tech in this little drone! Amazing! Can’t wait to see the rest of your reviews. 🤙
The drone isn’t avoiding the trees. It’s merely following you closely so it has no choice but to follow you so if you go around a tree, it goes around the tree if you go around branches, it goes around the branches.
Right, it’s not actively avoiding trees or objects (in terms of using internal sensors), but it is effectively avoiding them by intentionally following the subject’s precise path for the specific purpose of avoiding objects. By design. First DJI drone to do so.
I really wanna like this drone. The only downside is the annoying high pitch from the props. For that reason alone, I will be passing on this toy drone.
The noise isn't too bad imo, except when it has to constantly rebalance in wind - then the constant revvving up and down of the props is a little grating. Not a good idea to fly it in wind generally tbh, it kills the battery life.

@@gofer23mw for Long range, you need a Controller to stear it. But wit it, Ou can fly about 2-2.5 Miles wir one battery load

Air 3s part 1 up tomorrow 🙂🍻
I love how this drone can be used as a selfie drone or an FPV drone. It's so versatile! I'm definitely going to get one...Its best for solar creators

Can a apple tracker be attached to the top?
It is so perfect for in a playground to fly
I like it but the battery life no I have the mini 4 pro too and still rockin it

your property is so nice!
Ok What do You think about add, the protection of the gimbal, just because if You crash it Will damage the camera
For the frontal follow or as it’s tracking you and backing up it’s for vlogging just walking and that’s it.
Thank you for making this video and sharing it! Great job!
The Neo has obstacle avoidance but they will sell you that technology in the Neo 2...incremental tech additions for higher profits.
@@GenX80sKid or they are still developing the firmware for it
I am new to drones and planning to buy one. Do you suggest to buy a used DJI mavic air(1st gen) or a new DJI Neo ? Both of them cost the same.
R u gonna do the air3s?
Yep 👍

For an experienced fpv pilot no but it's still one of the most fun and intuitive ways to fly it 🍻
Does it fly at night with a controller?
Why there isn't an ability to rotate that screen, dji? It is a very awkward way to fly a drone with a phone. Dji needs to come out with a firmware update to fix that.
Not sure there's much they can do with limited screen space on a mobile tbh. On a tablet it works much better though.

The next version comes out and it’ll be a drone look out for trees “No problem” 🤘

I like it for its quick features. I did get the controller, just because. I got it working with my Xreal fpv glasses.
for 200$ i would say its the best dji drone for durability, worst for everything else such as value compared to the mini 4K.

Always like your drone reviews. Cool functions but lacking in so many departments...Not worth it imo. This is essentially a kids toy.
atrocious oversharpening. they haven't add the sharpening settings yet, have they?
The tello seems better than this for the price this is ridiculous
Great, another way to record and infect the world with my video narcissistic narrative 😆
