To be fair the fox is a great enemy on paper. It looks great, it’s a new exciting mechanic, and the sound design is one of my favorites out of all the entities. But in practice it sucks. I feel that the vain shrouds should spawn multiple places in patches instead of exclusively by the ship. Or as someone said before, only on specific maps. The shitty spawns by the ship and not that many ways to deal with it solo really drop my opinion of it. And all that coupled with the fact that the weed killer is expensive and depletes quickly ruins it for the mob. I think this could be easily solved with a fumigation mechanic. Before you land you can spend a certain amount of credits for the company to fumigate the landing area of shrouds completely, but the draw back is that no bees will spawn and forest giants have a higher chance to spawn early.
my main issue with the fox is that vain shrouds begin spawning directly outside the ship, meaning that once a fox spawns there is now a high chance of an immediate threat upon landing and exiting the ship. they should spawn further away from the ship, but still in a relevant position youll likely pass by, so that you cant be killed upon landing. Another issue is that weeds take a lot of weed killer to destroy and are somewhat inconsistent to destroy as well. once its too late (second time entering a moon with vain shrouds on it) you basically cant get rid of them all unless you spend a few hundred credits and most of your day destroying weeds.

Solo runs would just become "Let's buy jetpack to avoid the fox starting right at the ship" or "Let's take up to an hour or two at the start of every run to kill the fox before looting."
Right now the fox is really annoying and a big run killer. If you do high quota runs later in the run you pretty much don't have another choice than to go to artiface, because it spawns so much loot. I think it would be good change for the vain shrouds to decrease in count the longer you don't visit the specific moon. As for the fox, it would be great if it took like 3 to 4 hits to kill with a shovel and not 7. Also the thing where the fox just stands there while you hit it with a shovel is probably a bug.
It seems to get stunned so you can get a few hits in, but then it instantly springs back up and one shots you. If it had a warning beforehand, then that would justify the 7 hits needed.

Not even because it makes the facility hard to get to, its just that Experimentation is supposed to be the beginner friendly map, or just a place for the quickest low value loot.
Fox sucks. I was playing a run yesterday with some friends on Artifice and the kidnapper fox spawned everyday immediately at the beginning of the day in the exact same spot in the middle of the map. I'd start jetpacking to the entrance since they aren't comfortable using it, see it, go back to warn them, go to the entrance, then do a loot trip back later in the day and find that one or two of them died to the fox already. I get it being a threat but it shouldn't be out that early and consistently. Not sure if the spawning is bugged or what.
in titan the fox is even more problematic. U must kill it, otherwise u will not get any item with you if you are not with jetpack. It camps on the stairs and where you throw the items. You have to be lucky. I think Zeek could put Fox only on the left side of the ship and a bit far from where the bought items land. It would be close to the ship but not literally inside the ship.

Although I haven't been able to actually experience the kidnapper fox for myself, from what I've heard people don't really like it so much. I personally think it's a good idea, but could use some changing. One thing that might be good is to add a sort of "dead zone" around where the ship lands that prevents vein shrouds from spawning. They would still be close enough that a fox can still go to the ship, but far enough so that foxes can't spawn basically right next to the ship. Also seen people talk about the shroud placemen on titan, which should also probably be changed. Another thing that I've seen people point out in the comments, is that vein shrouds grow on all moons, regardless of you ever visit them, meaning you can go to artifice and have the shrouds spread about like crazy. What I think could be a good solution to this is to 1.) make it so vein shrouds can't spawn on certain moons (like embrion, rend, and dine) and 2.) make it so that vein shrouds don't grow if you haven't visited a moon at all, and grow very slowly if you aren't at it or actively going to it. It would result in you being able to go to a moon such as Titan for the first time, and not have the shrouds basically at max growth, and make it that when you do visit another moon, the veins will have grown, but not as much as if you've been consistently been going to said moon. unlike the rest of the outside enemies in lethal company, theres nothing you can really do to "stop" a fox, you cant be silent, you cant really hide, you cant be intimidating, its just kind of a "you lose!" which sucks if it was reworked in a way where being really heavy makes its attempts to pull you for not, or if it just stayed in the vain shrouds, it would act more like the other outside enemys, instead of something that feels like it would be inside the facility
At 19:35 it looked like the spider was doing something similar to what butlers do in the mansion main room where they fall down to the bottom floor (it only fell a small amount but it still fell). Idk if it was just random or due to you moving or jumping but if it’s something you did then that might be another (very situational) way to cheese spiders (and maybe other entities?). Also, for my opinion on the fox, I haven’t played the update yet, but just from watching people play it I think the fox itself is fine as is, we just need a better way to deal with vein shrouds. As I was typing this I just thought maybe a ship upgrade that adds sprinklers to the ship that sprays weedkiller to get rid of vein shrouds near where the ship lands? That might help but doesn’t solve the problem of weedkiller not really being worth it as it currently is.
the main problem for the fox is that its a 1 hit kill and it makes you drop your items. meaning if you get dragged away before grabbing a shovel your done. oh and it spawns directly at the ship right at the start. the final kicker is you cant prevent it ether. the weed killer is expensive the hitboxes on it are inconstant and you can destroy 1 maybe 2 weds at a time with 1 weed killer.
I feel like Kidnapper foxes are a much better casual enemy than an enemy for speedrunners/challenge runners, since its pretty funny to watch your friends get kidnapped and instantly killed, not so much if you're trying your hardest to win though
49:50 I swear I've enjoyed watching lots of Lethal Company playthroughs. Baboon Hawks are always aggressive towards professional players like you and Thalonius and never cause trouble to casual players like SMII7Y
Baboon hawks are less of an issue in casual multiplayer lobbies since they’re less likely to attack when they don’t outnumber you. Casual lobbies tend to travel together, whereas more experienced players tend to split up (or in mine and Thalonius’ case, play by ourselves lol).
i’m studying all the moons and i made a spreadsheet on the vow bridge collapsing. After i did that i played lethal company and got a cash register on assurance
He just got removed from the game on the latest patch for reworking. I like its design a lot, and its OP enough that i would love to see him specially attached to Eclipse Events, maybe make it the only monster that spawns outside during Eclipses, and make its spawn coinside with the time spent on the planet. 1 spawns at the start, and then at around 6pm if 2 or more players are present another spawns. Hell, make the 3rd spawn at 11pm if theres 3 or more players. Just keep them the only thing spawning outside at Eclipses, and keep them at a distance of the ship. The thing should be its deadliest for those who dare venture too far from the ship. Bridge breaks, forces you to go around and potentially face one. Decide to check an emergency exit and potentially face one. The insta kill should be removed too, or give is the feeling we had with spiders. Everyone taught we could save people from spider cacoons, maybe hide the bounded teamates in their bushes, forcing players to save their teamates or have their numbers cut down to 1. I really hope they dont get straight up removed.
honestly in multiplayer its fun but if youre one of the few solo players, youre just screwed, unless youve somehow mastered the ability to instantly pick up the weapon youre basically forced to carry with you at all times instantly, which weighs you down and wastes a slot and youre dead if you dont since you cant outrun it for long, and when it catches you theres no escape, otherwise its easier dealt with by someone who can help you
The main problem for me is that the weed killer is so expensive and slow for how much you might need just to get rid of an infestation. Unless you have a decent amount of cash and 3-4 players in total, realistically most planets are going to become infested with vain shrouds in no time. For me, the kidnapper fox isn’t really that deadly, but it is beyond obnoxious and tedious to deal with because I see this thing nearly every drop due to the vain shroud problem I mentioned earlier. Which, on another note, makes the kidnapper fox extremely predictable and boring as a result (I love that planet runs can range from “barely see anything” to “when it rains, it pours”, but the kidnapper fox is so common it ruins that). It’s not fun to have to essentially play hot potato with any heavy scrap I carry, EVERY single time I exit the facility. Cause if not, the fox will catch up and drag me to my doom. I feel like if there was a small timer before a fox could spawn upon landing and the weed killer was an aoe rather than requiring you to be extremely precise with its hitbox, I feel like the kidnapper fox would become much more manageable.
It’s most annoying but I think it’s a good little critter for outside once you learn how to beat it if it spawns that’s a when it becomes a normal enemy
okay so 1. haven't watched the video in full (yet) but i don't see anyone mentioning it so i doubt this was brought up, and 2. this may be really dumb but i've found that it can't drag you through the placeable objects in the ship so if you just move the terminal and the storage to block yourself in, it can get through yes but you CAN'T, and so i just kill it by 1. having a shovel or something else 2. doing the placements i mentioned - right at the entrance mind you 3. waiting, and 4. being a dumb fiend. of course this is NOT efficient for the overall results of any form of run because it takes up time and takes away from the actual goal of gameplay, however i'm also personally a casual player and also exclusively play multiplayer with a select handful of people i'm highly familiar with so it's not too much of a problem in terms of what i prefer to do, aka less getting a job done and more being a coward and cheesing stuff (exhibit a: gremlin method i just described). i seriously hope that the very obvious and blaring issues that the kidnapper fox has is fixed though, because it could be pretty great, and yet it's basically just a complete death sentence without any balance instead of a challenging obstacle where as you progress you can eventually figure out how to evade it through experience. (which is what it SHOULD be.)
My encounters with the fox were mostly beta version, so the first time I didn't know it insta killed, ran into bushes, and died. Second time it couldn't pull me past the railing, would come back up onto ship, and I killed it. Third time, I just walked away from where it was taking me until it gave up. I personally haven't had too much issue with it, but I also haven't played as much lethal company as I used to.
My group played yesterday and today and past day 5-6 the fox was on every single free moon with its killzone nest directly inside the ship. When that happens the strategy of using furniture to stop yourself from being dragged off stops working because it just clips through and murders you no matter where you stand. That's why we hate it at least
@@Blamowizard yeah that is kinda insane, I joined a random ship and there were bushes in the ship, the thing walked in and instakilled everyone. The bushes should probably be nerfed so they don't generate basically inside the ship
I dont mind them too much, even as a primarily solo player. Sure, they get annoying sometimes but most of my runs i never see one, and if i do i normally have some sort of weapon anyways. I do feel like vain shrouds shouldnt grow everywhere or atleast have a smaller chance on some moons, especially planets like Embrion and the snowy ones (Since its amethyst and literal snow). Though It somewhat promotes moon diversity, and i like that.
my biggest issue with the fox is I can't find clear ways to avoid the fox if it spawns (I play multiplayer), so I basically need a shovel. You already pretty much need a flashlight, so an extra shovel seems like a pain in the ass
I love Kidnapper Foxes. Rarely see 'em because I'm all over the place with planets, only saw one EVER so far on Assurance, solo, and I kinda just beat it to death. Good enemy design, actually scary, not too much of a handicap. This message is also coming from a Jetpack user.
The funny thing is that only the first couple minutes is about the fox and the next 2 and a half hours is just live stream clips that have no fox in them
The kidnapper fox is just poorly designed in terms of gameplay. It has way too much hp for how strong it is, it will stay make noise when you hit the body after it's dead, it can play dead(my friend hit a kidnapper fox and then it laid down and stopped moving, three seconds later it got back up and instakilled him because he was near a bush), it can travel way too far away from the vain shrouds that already are way too big, I might be wrong on this but as far as I know if you're carrying multiple items it randomly drops them around you making it so much harder to pick up your weapon, despite yelping a lot when near a player or grabbing one it doesn't attract dogs that well(I had a fox grabbing me and yelping literally right next to a dog and it didn't agro). It also doesn't play off of any of the other outdoor enemies. Dogs and baboon hawks fight each other, dogs/baboon hawks and giant play off of each other by either making sound and vision a threat or forcing you to move which can get you spotted. The fox just grabs you and kills you.
Do you still upload the chess puzzles? I would love to see those. Also love that you played too the moon! Such an great, emotional story telling game. One of my favs for real
I already don’t like the fox but the fact it can spawn on any moon makes it even worse. I went to Rend for the first time ever and there was still a fox already there. Also once one spawns he’s there permanently and dealing with it solo is not really viable.
for me personally i really struggle with kidnapper fox so it absolutely ruins solo play for me. hell i hate that stupid fox so much i decided to go back to v50
Every 15 minutes Twitch ads and every 6 minutes RUclips ads. As a non premium user, I never get any ads like that, not more than two for a video. Does this change based on territory?
Twitch ads no, that’s based on the streamer’s preference. I have mine set to minimize ad watch time and maximize revenue. RUclips ads are more based on your ad tolerance. RUclips tracks how you interact with ads, and basically the more you’re willing to watch an ad, the more ads they’ll show you. So I don’t have as much control over that.
I love when peoples adds in the games something is difficult to deal with because you more stressed, more immersed and you must thinking of ways to cope with it, so I love kidnapper fox

Weird question: Who else enjoys the rare time to listen the Ecclipse Ambient soundtrack while playing when no monsters are around?
I feel like Kidnapper foxes are a much better casual enemy than an enemy for speedrunners/challenge runners, since its pretty funny to watch your friends get kidnapped and instantly killed, not so much if you're trying your hardest to win though
It's really not funny at all. I don't know what poop crack you're smoking but don't let me anywhere near that shit
The safest interior ever with an old bird outside is so funny
49:50 I swear I've enjoyed watching lots of Lethal Company playthroughs. Baboon Hawks are always aggressive towards professional players like you and Thalonius and never cause trouble to casual players like SMII7Y
Baboon hawks are less of an issue in casual multiplayer lobbies since they’re less likely to attack when they don’t outnumber you. Casual lobbies tend to travel together, whereas more experienced players tend to split up (or in mine and Thalonius’ case, play by ourselves lol).

Why is this so funny-
1:23:20 Bro read the future
6:19 That is a really funny idea, and I genuinely might make that a real thing.
i’m studying all the moons and i made a spreadsheet on the vow bridge collapsing. After i did that i played lethal company and got a cash register on assurance
1:00:04 - That's quite literally what I'm listening right now lol, I love it
The To The Moon sprites had me flashing back through my youth
The run was doomed the moment nico luck chose to not accompany it
I was wondering why I couldn't see any much of Hygrodere spawns since V50 (it's weird). But, there we go, finally some.
9:50
I think that is the very first time I've been scared by one of those
the spore lizard was the first ever enemy to scare me 😂 it be like that
Can eyeless dogs kill it as well? I think that's be a really good way of getting rid of them unless they completely occupy the spawn cap
you can transfer save files in games to a folder on a usb and then paste those save files to you new pc game save files for your games
I think that they are either the most harmless, or the hardest of people you’re with are smart
lowkey was looking forwards to what I thought was a nearly 3 hour video essay on the kidnapper fox, but got a vod instead. Good intro though
Kidnapper Fox is especially opressive on solo because you drop your shovel. On solo Snare Flees don't one hit you, so I feel like Foxes should too.
honestly in multiplayer its fun but if youre one of the few solo players, youre just screwed, unless youve somehow mastered the ability to instantly pick up the weapon youre basically forced to carry with you at all times instantly, which weighs you down and wastes a slot and youre dead if you dont since you cant outrun it for long, and when it catches you theres no escape, otherwise its easier dealt with by someone who can help you
The main problem for me is that the weed killer is so expensive and slow for how much you might need just to get rid of an infestation.
I’ll admit, the 40$?!? +edible made me chuckle
It’s most annoying but I think it’s a good little critter for outside once you learn how to beat it if it spawns that’s a when it becomes a normal enemy
okay so 1. haven't watched the video in full (yet) but i don't see anyone mentioning it so i doubt this was brought up, and 2. this may be really dumb but i've found that it can't drag you through the placeable objects in the ship so if you just move the terminal and the storage to block yourself in, it can get through yes but you CAN'T, and so i just kill it by
1. having a shovel or something else
2. doing the placements i mentioned - right at the entrance mind you
3. waiting,
and 4. being a dumb fiend.
of course this is NOT efficient for the overall results of any form of run because it takes up time and takes away from the actual goal of gameplay, however i'm also personally a casual player and also exclusively play multiplayer with a select handful of people i'm highly familiar with so it's not too much of a problem in terms of what i prefer to do, aka less getting a job done and more being a coward and cheesing stuff (exhibit a: gremlin method i just described). i seriously hope that the very obvious and blaring issues that the kidnapper fox has is fixed though, because it could be pretty great, and yet it's basically just a complete death sentence without any balance instead of a challenging obstacle where as you progress you can eventually figure out how to evade it through experience.
The fox can bump the cruiser and tip it, but cannot reach you inside of it.
Swiper no swiping
@7:50 how do you know it's a bracken room???
Loving your content, Sheff
this vid makes me feel like vain shrouds either spawn really slowly or only spawn if you go to a diff moon
Me and my friends agreed that it’s been the most difficult enemy in the game from the moment version 55 dropped
The fox has only spawned twice since the update for me, and I was already dead both times.
30:34 Wtf Austin 😂
Say it after me, guys...
Swiper no Swiping, remember? Dora taught us how to deal with this.
Swipper has stabbed his own ears, he can’t hear us anymore, we are powerless in the face of god
I feel like you can use another experimentation only for your tattered metal sheet run.
You know its bad when its 2 and a frickin half hours long
I love Kidnapper Foxes. Rarely see 'em because I'm all over the place with planets, only saw one EVER so far on Assurance, solo, and I kinda just beat it to death. Good enemy design, actually scary, not too much of a handicap.
This message is also coming from a Jetpack user.
In one of my games my friend triggered fox and it gone to the ship. Guess who got eaten(totally not me who was chilling in ship)
Uploads a video about the kidnapper fox,
Contains no content with the kidnapper fox in it past the intro

Two and a half hour video essay on ONE ENEMY?
"White man been here."
"How can you tell?"
"Excessively long video essay."
I hate the kidnapper fox so much that i only bought weed killer once and keep going back to the vain shroud infested planet
Ooh this is that stream where you never found one lol it’s going to be weird looking back on this vid cause I was at the stream
Ten bucks says the fox is the OC of the dev.
I got grabbed by one and it got scared off when I tried to put on a mask (comedy not tragedy)
sure ill watch a 2 and a half hour video about an enemy i encountered one time in lethal company why not
Looking forward to the next stream!
2:23:48 Am too childishly happy when streamer calls out my comment
1:03:25 Kinda makes me wonder what Sheff does for a job now, althought I dont know if thats weird to wonder lol
I think the kidnaper fox shouldn't insta kill at least in single player, just like the snare flea but in a different way
I js realized that the foxs mouth is sideways and his head isnt
John my beloved❤
Do you still upload the chess puzzles? I would love to see those. Also love that you played too the moon! Such an great, emotional story telling game. One of my favs for real
Forest keeper 10x worst.
I already don’t like the fox but the fact it can spawn on any moon makes it even worse. I went to Rend for the first time ever and there was still a fox already there. Also once one spawns he’s there permanently and dealing with it solo is not really viable.
In here after kidnapped fox was removed
TWO AND A HALF HOURS????
for me personally i really struggle with kidnapper fox so it absolutely ruins solo play for me. hell i hate that stupid fox so much i decided to go back to v50
You guys just need to say "Swiper no swiping" and he goes away 😔
Austin didn't get any Kidnapper Fox spawns because they were all on my runs T_T
Why the fuck is this video 2 and a half hours long?
Every 15 minutes Twitch ads and every 6 minutes RUclips ads. As a non premium user, I never get any ads like that, not more than two for a video. Does this change based on territory?
Twitch ads no, that’s based on the streamer’s preference. I have mine set to minimize ad watch time and maximize revenue.
RUclips ads are more based on your ad tolerance. RUclips tracks how you interact with ads, and basically the more you’re willing to watch an ad, the more ads they’ll show you. So I don’t have as much control over that.
The Giants:
nvm damn this enemy annoying as hell
Damn, youtubers really pushing for that 10 minute mark shaking my smh
23:04 That doesn't make any sense
23:07
Same thing happened to me lol
23:23
yes 😭
I just dealt with it by installing a mod that removes it from the game
More than one bee on hive is possible???😅
I haven't run into a kidnapper fox yet so I can't really say how bad it is yet from my personal experience. It looks annoying though.
It really ain't
@@RoganNotReally Agree to disagree.
@@rainingtacos7529 I will give you a FUCKING 40 PAGE DOCUMENT ON HOW KIDNAPPER FOX IS EASILY AVOIDABLE!
@@RoganNotReally I think I'd rather just do the adult thing and accept that we have different opinions and move on.
@@rainingtacos7529 I do musteth agree sire, continue with your blissful day.
🦊 got that 👅 doe 😩
I love when peoples adds in the games something is difficult to deal with because you more stressed, more immersed and you must thinking of ways to cope with it, so I love kidnapper fox
Damn you must have a lot to say about this guy if you made a 2 somthn hour vid on em
Idk what that is i better watch more lethal company..
Ok I haven’t watched the video yet, but i probably won’t because like…why did this dude make a 2 and a half hour video about an enemy in the game..?
Developer MUST nerf this entity
