Bought a slightly used one recently and 4x4 Tiffen filters won´t fit in-
It would need a lot of force to "slide" them in, it´s almost impossible and will damage the filters for sure,
even when the compartment is totally dismanteled...
Think I´ll have to grind of a bit to make it completely useable.
Happy I did not buy it as new for the full price.
Besides this, it looks solid and does a good job as a light matte box.
Looks good to me!

I was going to get the tilta one but as this one is a slightly bigger fit after seeing your video i will go for this one as its a real kool looking Matte Box for the money....and I am one of those guys thats getting it to stop a bit of glare and also to make the set up look good. Its all about perceptions right....lol!!!

Not an area I would typically mount something but I'm sure there's someone out there who has found it useful 😅
One of the reviews on B&H indicates that the Smallrig scratches the edges of the filters after a while. Have you found this to be true? That would be a dealbreaker for me.
I haven't got any filters to directly test that out, however, the majority of reviews have been very positive and I haven't seen other people mention that, so probably safe to assume it's not a common problem.
I have a problem with the filter slots. I have to pust hard my filter to put them in and take out. It's a lockcircle black x-mist, not a Nisi. Do you think the thickness of the filters change or maybe the mattebox slots are faulted?
Did you completely loosen the top screws before putting it in? Am just wondering whether the pads that help keep them secured are rubbing on the filter as you move them?
If that's not the issue and your filter is no more than 4mm thick and 4x4" or 4.65" in size, I would assume maybe the mattebox is faulty; I haven't seen anyone else mentioning this issue.

It's a 'Selens 56x89cm Backdrop (Concrete)', if you go on Amazon UK and search 'B07WSYP4N9' that will take you directly to the one I purchased. You can get it for around £3 on AliExpress, however you may be waiting for months for it to arrive whereas it's Prime eligible on Amazon.
NOTE: It comes rolled up and unfortunately holds that shape very well, so to flatten it out I had to roll it over a poster tube the opposite way it was curling and weighed it down for an hour or so.

You referring to an ND filter mounted to a rotation tray or a circular filter that goes directly on the lens?

Otherwise, they could for the Matte Box Mini which can use circular filters.

@@Jaibytes I just got one of these matte boxes, the door on the slot pulls open from the top. First time is very stiff though, thought I was going to break it but after opening and closing a few times its much easier to operate now.

calibrate your monitor, the video is to mutch dark
The video probably could be a little bit brighter in some places, however, no one else has complained about it being too dark. Also, my monitor is calibrated.
@@MyKeyReviews the video is underexposed, not a little bit, but 2 or 3 stops!!! believe me
Video wasn't dark enough.
