As a Capitals fan since 1990, winning Stanley was wonderful because I swore it would never happen-until it did. More than a few have told me it was their favorite Cup celebration in a long time.
Well-the Capitals broke a huge hex and I doubt I have ever seen grown men have so much joy.
That time is done and now The Capitals are everyone's target. Fine. It's a glorious chance to go for a repeat.
I don't know if that will happen, but it will be fun to see what happens.

@@PlyrMava. I am more practical. Ovi and The Team won it because they put in the hard work. Ovi and Backstrom have been teammates since 2006. Jay Beagle (who was signed by The Canucks in FA this summer)-2007. Carlson-2010.
You can say that Ovi earned it-after the fact. But the team earned it the hard way.
Regardless of what happens, my faith was FINALLY rewarded. The 2018 Cup can never be taken away. Every so often, I still shake my head because The Caps, those lucky bastards, actually did it

How heartbreaking was that Cinderella Cup run coming out of the lockout against the Hurricanes?
HermaphroGynandro , sorta but not really. I was around for the first 5 and they shouldn't have even been in the finals that year. Was more entertaining for the most part and a surprise. Another one or 3 coming for Connor and Leon's team though.
@@watcher6935 Reason I asked is because several people like The Hockey Guy believe the Oilers would've won their sixth Stanley Cup if goaltender Dwayne Roloson hadn't suffered that third degree sprain to his knee at the end of Game 1.
HermaphroGynandro , well I really enjoy watching The Hockey Guy but I respectfully disagree with him. They had game one locked up until he got hurt. I don't think there would have been a game 7 had he not been hurt. They weren't supposed to be in the finals but once they were there this team was rolling with Roly the goalie.
