- This video is a tribute to Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals, who became a Stanley Cup Champion this spring.
After countless heartbreaking playoff loses over the last 10+years, he and his capitals surprised the hockey world with a magical spring. After wins over Columbus, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay, the Washington Capitals defeated the Vegas Golden Knights in the Stanley Cup Final, so that Alexander Ovechkin hoisted his first ever STANLEY Cup.
Congratulations Alex! Nobody would have deserved it more than you!

This moment will forever be my most cherished sports moment. He had so much emotion and heart when he finally hoisted that cup. I lost it and still even now every time I watch it, the chills and emotions i feel are forever!!!! I waited 20 years for us to do it and man was it ever worth it!!!!! He's our heart and soul and I will never get to see another player like him in my lifetime. I am thankful every day I got to see this and continue to get to see him play his career out in DC!!!!! #Caps4ever

Habs fan in peace. Ovie is a hockey god, pure & simple. I honestly shed a tear for him when he lifted the Cup. Each hockey era is different, but he's the greatest of recent years - just a force of nature.
I have been a Caps fan since I started following the league. Ovechkin of course was my favourite player. I cried when they won it, cried much. Only time I have cried of joy when our floorball (:D) team won our countrys championschip. Put my 8 whole years for that team, and it was so emotional. Can't even think what was going on in Ovis head after the Stanley Cup.

I remember being 6 years old and watching "The Goal" live. About 13 years later I saw him lift the cup. It's enough to make me cry
he changed his mentality, he became the leader he was meant to be this past year, playing outstanding D and sacrificing his body to block shots....he did it all and my captain deserved it!!

Don't make it sound like Ovi hasn't been giving it his all, because he has. The only reason he hadn't won a Cup before was because he didn't have a solid team around him. Hockey is a team sport.

Ovechkin made DC a major Hockey Town. I was a Season Ticket Holders for 10 years until health issues prevented me from continuing. Watching him in person for 10 years was a pure treasure. Ovie Jr. has been born, #2 on the way. Watch out NHL in about 18 years!

Ovi is the best and greatest hockey player in the last generation and I say the best NHL player ever. He is going to go past Gretzky and break all kind of records. He is the real deal and he is just a gifted and excellent player.
I can see in his face how much he wanted it! His emotions are real as fuck he dont only deserve to be a champion he deserves to be remembered as a Legend!
Ovi still holds the record for the most insane goal and the announcer holds the record for the best quote. "Alexander Ovechkin, when it looked like it was no longer possible, he still got it done." It just sums up ovi in a scentence.

One of the most deserving Cups in history. Ovi is a freak hockey player. That combo of size, speed and handles just doesn't exist outside him. I was outside in DC with thousands of people when they won. Grown men crying, people going crazy, this fan base has been through a lot. Made it even sweeter.

That playoff run was like a hit list of everyone who held them down. Obviously the Penguins but also coach tortorella on the blue jackets and so many former rangers throughout.
Ovi and the boys got hammered with the fans and the Cup for about 3 weeks straight before sending it off with each player. They really shared the win with all of us. What a beautiful time!
You can't think of a more deserving person in sports history to win a championship of their sport like ovi. What an absolute legend

When I see the last part of it going for the cup. Normally I think to myself: The player really deserves the cup! The joy of him is incredible. I'm glad he won it.
Alex has always been my idle for the past 3 years as a Russian member i wear all of his jerseys to practice and i have everyone capitals to take to school but my one dream to ever have is to meet this great legend. I’ve tried so many times to meet him and at least him to notice me but he just doesn’t know my story yet. Alex i hope you see this and as a Russian buddy. I admire you so much. “I hope who ever reads this doesn’t give up on there life and remember. Follow your dreams, Never give up and you will earn your dream, Your achievement”

@@barsik842 Кроме ногомячистов, их и тут неплохо кормят.То что хоккеисты стремятся играть в сильнейшей лиге мира- это только приветствовать надо. Потом все равно вернутся и я уверен, что будут помогать и развивать далее наш хоккей и мы еще увидим финалы наподобии 2008-2011. Тому много примеров. Павел Буре в 90-е покупал форму для детской ЦСКА .Они талантливые люди.Честь им и хвала.
Приятно осознавать, что живёшь в одно время с такой легендой.
Обидно что мы уже не застанем другую

Genuinely though, caps fan or not. I think anyone would struggle to find anyone react better than Ovi did when receiving that cup. Hate the capitals, hate Ovechkin...you can't deny he deserved that title and seeing him lift it was incredible
