    I have just subscribed to your channel Howard . I am an ADI and just received my second A grade. I still love to learn and although I have once again received an A grade I feel I am constantly learning and analysing my teaching methods as I am sure you do too.
    We never believe we are at a level where we can say do you know what I am the best Instructor I can be because our pupils are all different and every day brings new challenges. On the old Part 3 exam it was all about the core competencies, Identify, Analyse Fix.
    We were judged on how well we could fix a problem.
    It was all about how can I fix this Fault, nothing about the poor pupil who was made to feel less than perfect as we picked out the fault and dug away at it. What were we doing !!!! I do feel that the beginning of the exam should be well thought out , a comical introduction to the examiner like -'this is such and such and he or she is going to watch me today just like I watch you on your lessons ', It is payback time so just enjoy your lesson knowing that it is my turn to be scrutinised. They usually laugh and so does the examiner and it calms everybody down right from the start. Once the Intro and agreed lesson plan is done and before we move off I ask my pupils to talk me through what they can see and how that might affect us on our drive. It does tend to calm them down and really set them up. Thank you Howard I am enjoying your videos and your lovely mannerisms and will continue to watch. From June In Luton

    Great advice on pitching the right level of difficulty for the pupils ability. Small steps can really help the pupils confidence, but too deep a jump can set the pupil back massively! Thank you..

    Thank you Howard. I was recommended to watch your videos and it really helps me to learn this way instead of having binders to read with so much information. Not chunked down either to the facts you speak about. You've definitely helped me think about my part 3. Thank you.

    Great videos and so informative. I'm nearly completed my Part 3 32hrs in-car training when the Covid-19 stopped this, so during the lockdown I have continued my learning via these videos and reading the various literature that available.. Thank you so much. Its helped me join the dots of my own learning.

    Thankyou for always having amazing advice for driving. I've learnt so much just watching your video's. My part 2 is due very soon and your videos have given me a reminder of what's expected to be a good and safe pdi. Can you tell me what dashcam you use to record your driving as i would like to record my own driving, so i can look back to see how i did on the routes.

    Are you aloud to use diagrams/aids on paper during part 3 exam if you are explaining anything at the side of the road for example or do the examiners not allow that?

    • @How-2-drive
      @How-2-drive  7 месяцев назад

      Yes you can use a visual aid to explain something.
      Just make sure you’ve pulled up somewhere safe first!

      How-2-Drive I can’t believe this! My instructor just made me spend £5,000 on a manual car. I owned an automatic before, which I had been driving for 10years. He said I can’t take my test in an auto, I need to practice in a manual!
      When I looked on the Gov website it stated otherwise. The first person I thought to clarify for me was you. Now my instructor says he’s still not sure and he need to check with his examiner friends. Wtf. I own two cars now. What shall I do? My test is in April.

    • @How-2-drive

      @@sszz130207 Oh dear, can I ask if your trainer is an ORDIT registered trainer? He really should know they changed this a few years ago for Part 2. Take the test in which car you feel more comfortable with.

    • @sszz130207
      @sszz130207 4 года назад

      How-2-Drive how will I know if he’s ordit? He works for The AA.
      He told me he’s not been told of any changes. I feel so let down. I’ve been driving for 23 year. 13 in manual and the last 10 in auto. I wish I’d checked the website before. Let me know a way I can check if he’s ordit, without asking him myself please.
      You’re a star btw.
