- When trying to install Microsoft Office (64-bit) you will get an error message if a 32-bit previous version is already installed. Going to Add/Remove Programs will leave important files behind and preventing you from installing the new 64-bit version of Office. In this video I demonstrate how to locate and remove the old 32-bit files so the 64-bit version of Office can be installed. Enjoy!
In this video I am using TeamViewer to remotely control a client's computer to remove 32-bit Office 15, for a 64-bit Office Professional Plus 2013.
The BEST instructional / problem-solver / windows troubleshooting video on youtube, in every way - period! Thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable... Aced it.
Very helpful man, it was giving some trouble to install the 64 bit. Thank you!
Typing with a broken shoulder here, bear with me. I'm not gonna lie. I have PTSD and thought I messed it up. All my data looked lost. But after it reinstalled all data re appeared. It really worked man. Love and respect from Portland Oregon Keith! (Do exactly what this guy says to uninstall and it works on Windows 10 too.) I also got rid of "Teams" before reinstalling. Much love everybody!!!
Thank you Jesse O'Brien
i deleted all my office in my subject.. but it's still not working... why is it???
You are a savior!!! I’ve tried doing everything just to remove the pesky office file... and only this was able to help me!!! Definitely gonna like and subscribe!!

Hi dear I uninstalled all the 32 bit programs from PC, but still the error occurs.
Would you please recommend another way to solve this issue?
check "about pc" if installed windows is 64 bit then only it is possible
Hi, I am in that Installer folder now, but I see 10-15 Microsoft Office things but none that say/start with Office 15 Click-to-Run etc, how do i know which ones to delete ? Can i maybe email you screenshot ? Need to download Access since now we are working from home. Hope you see this soon :)

@@KeithFox Hello, I'm also having the same problem how to know which one to uninstall (?)

watch from 0:26 for Windows 10
I'm trying to use it for 2016 32 bit version. And it's not working.
Do u have a solution for it?
If i have 2gb ram and
Intel graphic card
And windows 7

Wow ... you hit the seemingly impossible head of the nail ... thanks
It worked man! thank you so much
my system is just not uninstalling the 2010 pro bit what should i do now???
Genius ... problem solved!
thanks learn something new every day
Thanks man! Worked perfect.
make same type of video for office 2019-- as I have to change it to 64 bit version as file that I am using is not getting saved.PLEASE
I'm not sure why your file is not saving, that is peculiar. For a quick fix, download OpenOffice (it's free) and paste your contents there and everything should be fine.
thank you somuch, your video very useful man
Really nice video, but it didn't work for me...there are still traces of Office 2010 32-bit somewhere that keeps from installing Office 2019...
I can help clean it up on TeamViewer.
i have deleted the files instead of uninstalling it. What can i do now. Because of this am unable to install office 2016. Please tell me wat can be done
You might have to do a more advanced method in registry editor (regedit) and search (Control+F to find) and search for office. F3 for "find next". Delete key on each one found. Then afterwards I would personally do a CCleaner, which is a free program to cleanup, reboot and try to install again. Sorry it took so long to catch up with comments. I hope you get it
Wow, thanks dude, it worked well...
YOU ROCK! Thank you so much!
What if i mispress it and deleted one of the files instead of uninstalling it? because the same error prompt message still showed up
Great question. I'm not sure about this one. I hope you get it
It solved my problem.....Best👍
Sir I am uninstalling it. Yet it shows me there only. And not able to install 64 bit. Please do the favor
I am having trouble understanding your question.
I do everything you say but when I try installing nothing change the error keeps on showing saying I need to uninstall all 32bit office applications. But when I try to install 84bit it works even my pc has only 64bit operating system. Is that okay or it can damage my computer?
I don't understand your question.
Great! Good job! Thanks man :)
hey a lot of positive reviews!!! i use a lot of data for pivots, charts, formulas etc and hoping this will improve performance, do you think it will? daft question but i will this affect my saved files?
It should not have any noticeable performance differences, it's just a difference in the software architecture so there may be a difference but I don't think you'll see it. Come back and let me know if I'm wrong on that. This will not affect your data saved files. If you want to up your speeds I would first look into getting a solid state hard drive (SSD). Those are vastly faster than the old style and prices have come down a lot over the years. If you want more speed then you'll want to first look at a motherboard with a quick front side bus speed and work from there on matching hardware to it. I hope this helps your questions.
ok cool thanks for your quick reply. i got a message that said for more memory upgrade to 64 bit, so presumed this may help as my sheet kept on crashing :( I work with computers, but i don't get them haha
Hey unfortunately that didn't work for me at all :( it keeps saying I have 32 bit installed in my computer even after i remove everything you said + everything that include office.. what should i do? :\
Hey i can help in TeamViewer
Thanks a lot man. worked a treat.
+cnshroom no problemo, thanks
In my case the setup error appears without mention of the specified file like you...help me
What does the error message say?
Perfect. You saved my day.
Glad I could help
After i click Unistall i get "this action is only valid for products that are currently installed". wtf... how can i still unistall it, if i previously unistalled Microsoft Office?
I can team viewer you sometime and demonstrate in registry editor as a more advanced method. Contact me
Do I need to go and remove all the office apps like Word or Excel too before I make the move to 64 bit? Or will the new download make the 64 bit upgrade on it's own?
This is only for one app. Other office apps only required if you trying to update 64 bit
this didnt work dude, theres no office 15 at that folder.. i already uninstall the microsoft office office and microsoft office and nothings happen
office anything in subject column?
Hi! I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and I can't seem to locate the Installer folder inside the Windows folder. How do I go about this? D: Thanks.
Galaxy Caticorn go to your windows folder, it's usually on C but may be another partition or hard drive location. Once you find your windows folder and are there, you have to add /installer on the end of the location and press enter. It's a hidden folder and you beed afmin rights to get there and modify it. Thanks for your questions!
It worked like a charm! Thank you so much!! Thanks for the fast reply too.
Galaxy Caticorn I'm glad you got it! Thanks for coming back, watching, subscribing and all that, thanks!
what if your old office files are not described or seen like your what is another alternative in identifying the old office files?
I know there is a way to search the registry and delete the registry keys.
Thank you!!! this fixed my issue
+Justin E thank you for watching and commenting!

Any program with the 32 bit error when trying to upgrade to 64 this method will work.
Very nice tutorial....thanks a lot.....
i did not find office file
You must have administrator access to the machine.
THANK U SO MUCH BOSSS IT WORKED
one file is still been left which can't be uninstalled...how to install it
You might have to do a more advanced method in registry editor (regedit) and search (Control+F to find) and search for office. F3 for "find next". Delete key on each one found. Great vid, it worked. Also can you please give me the name of the song? It's very catchy
Sorry for the delay. I can't remember the track but I had to research hard to make sure it was not copyright for youtube
There's nothing related to Office on my PC and it keeps showing the error
Search the registry... regedit, control f. Delete key entries. I gotchu
I figured it out already, looked in hkey current user and local machine, deleted the Office folders and that helped. the video didn't
@@zioxei you're welcome
works like a charm
+Khalid Abdullah thank you, namaste
Thank you bro
In my window 7 the taskbar doesn't show view tools etc.
Press Alt and you should see the menu bar at the top in that window. There should be an iption to show/hide the menu bar within the options from there. Sorry for the late response!
Best instructions but it did not work for me. Not sure why not.
Thnaks man ... u save my life again :)
+Daniel Goh thank you for watching and subbing
thx a lot, u r my hero bro
Does this delete any files and games??
No sir
Thanks brother office installed on my pc
Enjoy
please reply my question : this will not delete my files right?
it does not delete any files.
I want to uninstall Microsoft office 2016 but is the key still valid if I want to install it again later?
Yes, always backup the key first if you don't have a physical copy.
Didn't work... uninstalled everything related to office and still says I can't install 64bit office.
Delete registry keys related to office and that will work for you
run regedit, ctrl+F office, delete, next delete, etc.
Except that you switch to Windows 7 cause the subject column has no text in Windows 10. So this works only for Win7 :(
It works for both
@@KeithFox bruh the crossover of the century. Just please tell us what to delete in windows 10
I clearly showed two examples, one on 10 and one on 7. What don't you understand? I will gladly explain it since you couldn't figure it out by the simple instructions
i still cant install the 64 bit :( , i already uninstall those files
I can TeamViewer your machine if you like?
@@KeithFox i have the same proplem there is absolutely no sign of office in my computer and it still says this messege
Thank you so much sir. it helped me so much
Happy to help
hey, i can’t find my office file, so i can’t delete anything, what should i do??
It should be there. The only easier solution would be either reinstall the operating system or use Open Office which is free.
@@KeithFox oh so i should install 32-bit first?
@@KeithFox same as you, i want to install 64-bit vers but i need to remove 32-bit first, but when i followed your instruction i cant find my office file to delete... sorry for my bad english 🙏🏼
No
@@KeithFox okay, thankyou so much!
thank you very much! it worked
+bertito95 thanks bertito95
if i deleted that thing will it installs automatically?
you have to run the installer after removing the old files.
Thank you
You saved me. I tried everything
very helpful thanks
it doesn't workn on office 16 because there is nothing named office in installer both in windows and regedit
Are you sure you are trying to remove the 32 bit version and not a 64 bit?
Keith Fox yes, i downloaded an office removal tool on microsoft and worked
ddfdfhhfhf, where did you download the office removal tool?
from microsoft site i think.
thank u so damn muchhhhhhh!!!!!!
You're welcome so damn much!
Thank you Mr. Robot!
+Vikram Shenoy thank you.
my pc's vertion is 64 bit and window 10.recently I have downloaded ms office 2016.while running setup.exe file the pc has shown same ,the results you shown above that 'remove 32 bit files so 64 bit can be inatalled' I have followed your process but while doing so I have noticed that my windows\installer does not have any files related to Microsoft office.so ,I then deleted entire files of"installer" so I kept my installer file empty and deleted all other files from "installer...and then I again tried to run setup.exe.. the icon is again showing same the results as delete 32 bit program files as mentioned in the description..so how to do then......................
Sai Aditya Reddy oh no shouldn't delete everything, I'm afraid to tell you the other method because it's more risky and you deleted everything in this folder which probably caused other applications to have issues.
Keith Fox ,so do u have any of regaining those programs of installer..I have replaced some by recyclebin and some of them have been deleted ..I have used"regedit" method..please give me ideas to reobtain installer programs..
Sai Aditya Reddy the only other method is using registry editor which you say you've tried already. I'm assuming that you have administration rights to the machine and show hidden files option is turned on. Those are the only two methods that I know of. If your other programs are screwed up what I would do is backup anything you want to keep and reformat the drive which has the operating system on it. I hope this helps.
Sai Aditya Reddy glad you didn't have to format the drive. What did it, to make it work?
You saved my bacon!
Thank you my dude
Thanks it worked
1:03 does anyone know what the subject column is called in german?
Either Gegenstand or Betreffspalte
@@KeithFox thanks man
