This time we set out to see some places located in the northeast of Arunachal Pradesh.
Arunachal Pradesh, also known as the ‘Land of the Dawn-lit-Mountains’, is situated on the northeastern tip of India, sharing its borders with China, Bhutan, and Myanmar. It is the largest state in the Northeast region and is nestled in the Eastern Himalayan ranges, boasting numerous turbulent streams, roaring rivers, deep gorges, and lofty snow-clad peaks. Additionally, the state is abundant in reserves of gas, coal, and mineral oils. The major agricultural products of the state include Kiwi, large cardamom, citrus fruits, orchids, and medicinal plants.
Parshuram Kund is a Hindu pilgrimage site in the Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. The Kund originally was established by the pilgrims coming from Assam in the 1970s and was promoted as a tourist place.
For Hindus from around India, Parshuram Kund is a famous pilgrimage location. It is trendy during the Makar Sankranti festival when hundreds of pilgrims go to the holy kund. Makar Sankranti is a Hindu festival that celebrates the arrival of spring. On Makar Sankranti, it is thought that taking a plunge in the sacred kund can wash away one’s sins and bring good luck
