I've watched hundreds of videos this past month about panning for Gold.! You seem to have the only video on the internet about Dry Panning for Gold. You're an amazing man, Jeff. Keep up the great work. Your enthusiasm for this generates much excitement in your viewers. You might remember to speed up the video in fast motion when you pan because it makes this so funny I can't stop laughing.!
man! no one inspires me more than you.. theirs not many people than can get on you tube and catch someone attention so easily like you do great job man!
that's right mr. Williams is a Avid student of all geological sciences and mineralogy this guy is like the professor I never had in college I sent Jeff that what you were doing is imparting all of the secrets techniques of the old-timer Prospectors like you said in your video and you really want us to succeed beautiful job grade man
I have still got a smile on my face ages after watching that, thousands of miles from the nearest desert here in Ossett, England but bugger me that is so amazing I would love to do it, thank's for the fun mate, still smiling, Chris. :)
I have been a hard rock mining most of my life and traveled to many distant places in search for gold. I have too watch many video's but you seem to hold the key to a much better way to dry pan. Thanks!!!
Now I've seen it all ! Been hobby prospecting for thirty + yrs here in AZ. Can't tell ya how many times I've passed up opportunity's to " check it out " for the lack of ambition to haul buckets of material home or to a water source so I could pan them out. Never again !! Thanks !
Love this dude!! If you pay attention he has a sense of humor... RATS!!! I didn't think about sitting on my bucket!!! Shute!! Gonna have to remember for next time!!
i just watched this again. i was watching a couple of video's of these guys dry washing. i don't think they know what the hell they're doing. one guy standing on some really black/mixed sand pointing at a hole he has been digging, and he had found 2 micro sized nuggets. that's why i love your videos. you teach, explain everything. and i forgot about dry panning. SO VERY COOL!! you found more in that little amount of dirt than that other guy drywashing all day!!
I always really enjoy your videos all the way from Australia. I'm planning to try a method on A dry hillside above a stream in which I put a shovel full into a bucket.. shake vigorously as well as hand puddling, allow the heavies to settle to the bottom, skim off the top dirt.. repeat the process over and over again until the bottom of the bucket is filled with concentrate after several hours and then finally take it to the creek to Pan. I know this Hill has good flakes and small picker's but running up and down the hill is very laborious and time consuming. I hope it works.
@@thesurvivalguru it worked well and I even found lots of small zircon and garnet in the bottom of bucket with small flakes of gold when I finally panned it off. I may have lost a little fine gold but overall it's better than running up and down the hill to wash every pan.
@@Askjeffwilliams yeah man no problem also my favorite gold nuggets are Australian gold nuggets they have very high purity gold nuggets beautiful ones too
Jeff....you are addicting! It's winter here in Montana, not much prospecting goin' right now as you can guess. However, I start every mornin' with my coffee and "ask Jeff Williams .com"!! Not only entertained, but learnin' a ton of info. Thank You and Slim!!
Jeff, ur awesome... i tried this dry panning and gues wut? it worked. for me, its better and easier than wet panning. the reason i say that is because where i live the good is real fine makin it extra hard to find. (good thing i hav the eyes of a gold crazed mad man or i might not hav even seen it). i got laughed at when i started this hobby, but when i showed up with a little bit of gold and proved the difference between pyrite and the real deal, it got my laughers out there diggin around. love ur vidz, and thanx :)
I live in the Desert and this video will help me. I am new to watching you and I am hoping on going out into the Desert to practice dry panning. Thanks
Finally got a chance to try this. Works real well. I had water close by and was able to final pan it at the creek. Mentioned you in the video I made - so well done!!
yeah, i agree jeff, a cheap dry washer would be the ideal solution to what you were doing out there with the seperator and pan, that way you could bring home maybe one or two buckets of concentrate to pan at your leasure in the back yard over an adult beverage or ten. always enjoy your videos, ray lowery
Great job!!!! Thank you for posting this video. I go prospecting every year and have always wondered what people meant by dry panning and now I know:) I love the positive energy!
This video has gained my attention about mining gold panning thanks Jeff for helping me gain the enthusiasm to put words to action. By the way love all your videos keep them going plz
Jeff, Like your technique and infectious enthusiasm. Had an old miner/prospector friend that could dry pan too. Your video brought back good memories of our times prospecting in the Mojave. Thanks again and keep-up the craziness.
My wife and I are planning a trip to Arizona in June. We are meeting up with two of my brothers and plan on doing some gold panning. Your videos have helped me get prepared for our adventure. Thanks Jeff, keep it up.
Hey Jeff! Im just starting to get into gold panning. I love the humor you bring to your vids! Get ideas and tips! Ive learned a lot from your teachings. My son will sneak over and watch them with me so now he wants to go out with Dad! Haha! Keep up the great ideas!

Jeff sounds like the Steve Irwin of gold panning.. Very enthusiastic! I didn't know dry panning was something that could be done but you got some very nice results. I hope you didn't breathe in too much dust!
Green Corolla why thank you for the compliment. I always liked Steve and his shows where never boring. To bad though. It is a little tricky to master but can be done and will have to remember not to suck in the dust next time. Thanks. Jeff and Slim
Wow! I did not even know this could be done! Thank you! There is a claim in New Mexico that is dry. Everyone says you MUST bring water or a dry washer. I think I will practice at home first, but this good to know in case I run out of water!😊
Great vids! Live in MA, but get to AZ for a few weeks every spring. Brother and myself go out for an hour or two in morning, to scrape low area in various dry creek beds filling up a coffee can, and during the afternoon pan it out in the backyard. in about 200 hours digging and panning, we've found almost 1 gram of gold. A pittance I know, but for me its more about getting outside, hiking, and the scenery.
Great video. I didn't know that anyone was pulling gold out of dry desert. I recently moved to Neew Mexico from Wisconsin. I'm gonna give this a try. GOLD!!!!!
